Itinerary
- 1Iraq al-Amir, Nestled among hills just outside of Amman in Wadi Al-Seer is a quaint village filled with ancient stone secrets. Iraq al-Amir, which means “Caves of the Prince” in Arabic, is home to more than 10 caves that have been inhabited by various groups since the Copper Age, as well as the ruins of an Ozymandias castle. One of these caves is lined with what appears to be seats, fit for a feast or a meeting; another has a more sepulchral appearance, divided by low stone walls into cubicles approximately the length of a supine adult; still another has a high ceiling over what appears to be carved walls, enclosing a spacious room that could have housed several families. While nobody permanently inhabits these caves anymore, shepherds do occasionally keep sheep or donkeys in them. These dark caverns are also home to numerous bats. Perhaps the most striking aspect of these caves is the large carved words adorning the entrances to two of the caves.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 374maximb0 contributionsMohammad scams and fools people by charging extra and selling group tour as privateThe guide (who said he is the owner) Mohammad Ahmad scams people. We booked a private tour. At first he messaged me the day saying we need to pay extra for entrance to the sites though it was clearly included in the price. And in the morning he came with another extra person in the car (who also thought she has a private tour before) He simply fools people selling group tour at a price of private tour and trying to get extra money for entering sights if they are not attentive enough. Pls avoid at all cost.Written 31 August 2024
- Paloma D0 contributionsExcellent !!Beautiful tour, my guide was very helpful, and brings me your every point at time! They are very hospitality, and safely. I recommend them and hopefully come back !!Written 22 May 2024
- _saroshv0 contributionsTrip was great but not the driver .We booked the Mt Nebo /Madaba and Maain hot springs tour .But Hot springs was dropped which was understandable but we were not offered any better alternatives . Driver was very rude and uncooperative. It was very hot and each time we had to ask him for cold water . After seeing the beautiful church in Madaba we went to this charming shop across to buy some souvenirs .He scolded us about buying anything from that shop . It was unpleasant being in the car .Car was dirty and there was barely any leg space in the back . I hope they improve their service and attitude towards clients.Written 17 September 2023
- PMA571000 contributionsNo flexibilityI had an issue during my trip so I asked if I could postpone my Wadi Mujib trip to the next day. They refused and asked me to pay again (I went during low season). Company more concerned about the money than the customer.Written 31 August 2023
- FredCanada20 contributionsPrivate Day tour to Ajloun Castle and Jerash, very enjoyableWe took a Half day Private tour to Ajloun Castle and Jerash with Mohammad. We had a great time and he showed us the important places, and removed the cable car from the schedule when he learned we are avid skiers. In all a beautiful and lovely day, ended with crazy cold water from Mohammads own cooler.Written 6 August 2023
- fredriksL8337KX0 contributionsNo private tour, very little English as promised, lots of things inclusive became extra cost.+ Hotels were good standard, clean, nice breakfast. Had Wifi. + Camp Aladdin in Wadi Rum was well organized, pleasant - English speaking guides at shared bus would have helped - Pickup at airport worked, drop off at airport or hotel NOT. - Bus rides wasted tremendous amount of time: one 4 hr ride took 9 hours - Bus rides offered no water nor WiFi. - Left by bus driver without Wifi/map or speaking Arabic at gas station in foreign country very unsettling. - Paid over $60JD for things that were included according to Booking tour informationWritten 6 August 2023
- Mitchell D0 contributionsCool excursion!Very cool excursion. Great views at Mt Nebo and the Dead Sea Gorge was fun and super cool to see. It was not easy to do, though. You have to be in decent physical shape to do it because it can be dangerous at times. However, our driver was very nice and got us where we needed to go on time. Thanks for a great experience!Written 27 July 2023
- michupil0 contributionsJordan dayGreat company and nice places to see! Mohammad is a cool guy and always smiling! Her went to Madaba, Mount Nebo, Baptism site and Ma'in Hot SpringsWritten 6 July 2023
- patricej7330 contributionsGreat experience with Al Rayan Tours and my driver Akram was wonderful. This tour was awesome even though I was solo. My driver, Akram made it enjoyable. It was as though he was my personal tour guide. He took my pictures and got me food at local food spots so I could enjoy the authenticity of the country and what it had to offer. I was also able to keep connected with his wifi and he had me play the songs of my choice since the journey between sites were a good distance. Visiting the actual sites were great as well. A lot history and culture to learn. My day was great overall and I would highly recommend booking with Al Rayan Tours.Written 23 June 2023
- Irishwanderer_120 contributionsPerfect and reasonably priced half day tourI had been looking for tours to Jerash but when travelling alone costs for private tours mounted and moved them beyond my reach. When I found the tour with Al Rayan it was very reasonably priced compared to other providers. I was initially concerned but everything went to plan I was picked up on time by Akram who has excellent English and kindly started the day with water and a Turkish coffee. The car was very comfortable and the drive itself offers stunning scenery particularly from Aijouln. Akram was able to give me background on the countryside we passed through. I am a bit of a history buff and felt I had as much time as I needed in each site. I hired a guide separately in Jerash which worked well. on the return journey, I mentioned I had not tried Mensef as yet so Akram was able to drop me to an excellent restaurant on the way back for lunch. I would heartily recommend this tour particularly to those travelling alone.Written 19 May 2023

- sumeetf20210 contributionsAdventur @ Wadi MujibA fantastic adventure activity @ Wadi Mujib. The great thing about it is that most people can complete it and yet you will be satisfied that you completed a task that isn't the easiest making you feel proud of yourself. There are people to help at locations that are tricky so you need not worry. You will find your self sliding into the river at a few locations which is exciting :) We were attended to by Mohammed who albeit isn't allowed to guide you through the actual activity but he was the one to pick us up from our hotel and bring us back, ensuring it was a smooth ride. Mohammed was also kind enough to make some other arrangements for us (not related to Wadi Mujib). Wadi Mujib is must try for adventurers.Written 6 May 2023
- Khaled A0 contributionsWonderful trip around JordanAkram was a great driver. Managed to bring us to each location on time and also managed to bring us to some gift shops so we could get some great deals. Highly recommended when planning your next trip.Written 5 May 2023
- bhagyarajp20170 contributionsDead Sea requires 5 star experienceBeautiful experience with Mohammad Ahmad from Al Rayan Tours. Mohammad was quick to suggest few resorts around dead sea to upgrade our experience. Pick up and drop from hotel was without errors and I would 100 percent recommend Al Rayan tours for touring in and around Jordan. Mohammad is a great guy who went out of his way to give us best experience possible.Written 5 May 2023
- pvbrown20050 contributionsA pleasant day and unforgettable experience. We had a great day on this excursion. It should be noted that, for my family, it was more of a transportation service than a "tour." The Baptism site was a guided tour but the other spots were more a leisurely experience on your own, which was fine for me, my wife and our two younger children. Our driver was right on time, professional and ensured that we had all of our entrance tickets for the various sites. We were in good hands and were pleased with the service overall. However, if you have your own rental car, it may be more cost efficient to drive yourself to the sites.Written 3 April 2023
