Bogota Gastronomic Walking Tour is a fantastic experience and it truely transports you to very different (but all tasty) places and experiences. We started with a food market that served Colombian food from all different regions of the country, tasted some exotic fruits; had a cup of hot chocolate with cheese (the weird part) and tasted organic icecream (amazing variety) just before stoping in a really nice and trendy restaurant that had a menu inspired from traditional Colombian food - but of course they had their modern twist. And of course there was time for a cup of great coffee as well.
Skip your breakfast before giong to this tour! On your way you'll see some fantastic architecture and hear great stories about Bogota and Colombia.

The guide Andres is very knowledgeable. We not only visit places with typical colombian food, he also tells stories and history about the city.
The breakfast stop in the market and the ice cream stop were highlights.

Gabriela was our guide for this tour, and she was amazing! It is so much more than just La Perseverancia, which was what motivated us to sign up for this tour in the first place. We also got to try hot chocolate with cheese at Pasteleria Florida, jugo de cana from a street vendor, a variety of cakes and teas and soups and appetizers and beers. We were so full by the end of the tour that we couldn’t eat the rest of the day! In the process we got explore so much more of La Candelaria than we would have on our own, and Gabriela knew all the history and highlights. We got so much out more out of this tour than we expected, and I definitely recommend it!

We don’t usually go for the guided tours, but we were extremely happy and pleased with this one. Our guide Andres not only brought us to some delicious cool places (we would have never found on our own) but also told us endless interesting stories and facts on Bogotá. He was relaxed, down to earth and very straightforward. We were lucky to be the only ones on the tour so it felt like hanging out with a new friend. Highly recommended!

I'm not sure if this is the same tour company since when I booked it it said it was provided by "Colombia Travel Services E.U." offered via Viator but now it says it's offered through "Impulse Travel"? It's confusing.

Anyway, I booked this tour through trip advisor as it was my first visit to Bogota. We were paired with Emilio who was awesome. My experience was nothing like the low-rated reviews on here that talk about indifferent guides who didn't take them to all the places. Emilio took us all around the farmer's market, flower market and to a couple of stops within to sample fruits, a couple of local fruit juice concoctions, empanadas, etc. He was really awesome. I mentioned I really wanted some good Colombian coffee and I wanted to bring a kilo of unroasted beans home for a friend of mine if we could find some - he knew just the spot! It wasn't part of the tour but we made a brief stop at this awesome local cafe + roastery and they had the beans I wanted (as well as great coffee). Emilio took us to the bakery, explained which things were traditional versus regular bakery items and everything he helped us order was excellent. From there we walked around La Candelaria and because we had already booked a city tour for the afternoon he tailored our walking tour around the areas that we'd already see later so we wouldn't be repeating anything. Overall, he was great.

Oh, and if you have the option, go on the food tour in the morning. The markets are far more active and the flower market shuts down around 10 so if you want to see the amazing displays of fresh flowers deff take the morning tour.

Hi Jeremy, Thank you very much for taking a time to write us such a detailed review. To clarify, our company's legal name is Via Colombia Travel Services and the brand we use is IMPULSE Travel. We are one of Viator's tour operators in Colombia. Our Bogotá Food Tour is one of our highlights! Having a closer look at the local lifestyle and manners, tasting delicious fruits and trying exquisite Colombian food is an excellent choice to get to discover this country. It's great to hear that Emilio achieved the goal of delivering meaningful experiences and quality services and that you and your group enjoyed the tour to the fullest. We are always working hard to have happy customers! It was a pleasure to be your hosts in Colombia and hope to have you back soon. Kind regards, Paula Duarte

My guide (Juan) was very friendly and informative, he seemed to know most of the people that we encountered. I learned so much about the many fruits, vegetables and local delicacies, as well as filling my belly with good foods and drinks!
