About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Victoria A0 contributionsLoved this tour and Camila was the best tour guide.Camila was the best tour guide and personalized the tour just for us! We are in our late 60s, and were interested in museums and cathedrals. We saw 3 cathedrals from the early 1500s to the late 1600s. We also had a fresh fruit, coffee and geography lesson, and a chocolate tasting. We stopped for a wonderful lunch of potato, chicken, corn and rice soup too! We visited the Botero and Museum of Gold. We learned about the indigenous and immigrant cultures, the conflicts and struggles of Columbia during past and recent history. She kept us safe and pointed out landmarks during the drive from our hotel to the first stop (local fruit stand). She is intelligent, friendly, and outgoing. Highly recommend!Written 16 February 2025
- 2089rimre0 contributionsGreat Tour in La CandelariaSarai, our guide has been fantastic. We have learned a lot about the history of Columbia and about the capital, Bogota. We made a Big Walk in La Candelaria, tssted coffee and unknown fruits. We also went up to Montserrate. Tip: visit Botero and Gold museums before the tour privately.Written 16 February 2025
- Britanica0 contributionsPerfect for introduction to BogotaWe had a very interesting time during our tour. It did start late as I believe we were waiting for a no show but the guide Gerald was so knowledgable on Colombian history. We did the tour in Spanish so it was just me my Mum and nephew and someone from Chile but they also had a guide with the English language group. We started in Plaza del Chorro de Quevada, went to La Concordia market hall tried some fruits, walked through the whole neighbourhood down to where Gaitan was assassinated. Plaza de Bolivar, Gold Museum, Candelaria church, then a coffee shop tasting. Even though we are Colombians we all learnt something new.Written 15 February 2025
- jenniferpK3659VH0 contributionsGreat tour!We learned a lot and had a delightful tour! A great overview of the area. We saw many historical sites, learned about local fruits and coffees a received recommendations for museums to visit at a later time.Written 14 February 2025
- scottoK2500BI0 contributionsAmazing Experience! This was a great trip and Camilo was a wonderful guide. We were not rushed at all and Camilo told us a lot about the area and the things we would be seeing. The Lake was incredible and the history behind it is fascinating. The Salt Cathedral was beyond anything we could imagine. We would highly recommend this trip.Written 14 February 2025
- MCTMASE0 contributionsThe best of BogotaI recently completed this tour with Leslie and it was a great experience. Leslie was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. Her English was great. She also quickly adapted the tour when one of the planned stops (fruit market) was unexpectedly closed and we instead visited a local chocolate vendor. The chocolate was so good that I purchased some to take back to my hotel. We also stopped at an artisan coffee shop and that was delicious. I appreciated the flexibility of the tour and being able to customise the itinerary to suit my interests, For example I asked to stop at a lookout on the way to Monserrate to take photos and I elected to skip the gold museum, this was no problem at all and both requests were accommodated. My highlight was Bolivar Square, so much history to discuss there. Overall this was a great way to see some of Bogota's most historical sites and I learned a lot while having some great conversation and nice food/drink.Written 14 February 2025
- piotrkT1744PX0 contributionsThe best experience in Bogota!Amazing trip!! Camilla - the guide very professional! everything is safe and according to plan. she told many interesting facts about Colombia and Bogota. if you want a trip, only with this agency!! I recommend it!Written 13 February 2025
- Padirajan0 contributionsA fabulous city tour of Bogota. This city tour of Bogota was interesting and nice. Our guide Cindy was very enthusiastic to show her city to us and was explaining the important aspects of each pot of interest. We first visited the mountain top on a funicular to visit the church. The views from the mountain top was fabulous. She took us on a walking tour of the old city. The itinerary included a visit to a fruit stall where you get to drink a fresh made smoothie. This was quite unusual to have been included in the price. It was so filling. The price also included a stop at the coffee shop where the coffee was brewed right in front of us in a unique filtering unit. When we had coffee it was raining outside and was a perfect time to have coffee. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would strongly recommend it to anyone who plans to visit Bogota.Written 11 February 2025
- Packlite19590 contributionsLa Candelaria TourI had a fun experience with Juana who offered some great historic information of the origins of the city. She also gives her perspectives from a local perspective which I found very interesting. She had a great sense of humor and made it a fun day. Recommended.Written 11 February 2025
- NorthStar5474890 contributionsGood tourGood tour with highlights of Bogota history. Liked that we were able to go to Botero Museum. Coffee at the end was perfect way to end the tour. Wish we could have sampled more fruits. Overall recommend.Written 11 February 2025

- B3068XDcarolh0 contributionsGrat day-tour... ask for LeslieLeslie was a wonderful guide. Our day with her was fun, informative and filled with smiles. From the time of our pick-up to the end of the day, we saw and did a lot. Monserrate is iconic and our time there was just great. We avoided crowds with our weekday timing, and the weather cooperated. She led us though parks and city streets with a lively and informative narrative catered to our questions and interests.Written 10 February 2025
- L552ZCjeanlucm0 contributionsTour of La Candelaria neighborhood in Bogota, ColombiaAs part of our stay in Bogota, we had booked a tour of the vibrant and colorful La Candelaria neighborhood with Gran ColombiaTour. We learned a lot from our guide Geraldo about all kinds of topics ranging from Bogotá’s modern history and the classification of neighborhoods into strata (based on the quality of housing) to pre-Columbian history, including the famous El Dorado people. We were taken to art galleries and very affordable shops where we were able to taste local fruits, chocolates, coffees and learn about the different coffee beans processing method. The tour also included a visit to the excellent Museo del Oro. We were given so much information during the tour that lasted several hours that it was impossible to memorize everything but we were able to follow up with the tour company which kindly provided key facts that helped us doing our research once back home. We really enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this tour!Written 9 February 2025
- luckydog1720 contributionsWill see local culture.I had no idea Colombians are so artistic. Most of the walls are diligently drawn and so vividly colorful. It was a Saturday visit so the streets were packed with benders selling all kinds of food and beads made jewelry, leather products and many other Chinese made stuff. It was a fun day.Written 8 February 2025
- melbV7949NP0 contributionsSalt cathedral and Lake GuatavitaPerfect day out with Lorena as our guide and Guillermo as our driver! A beautiful tour of the stations of the cross in the underground salt cathedral and a hike up the mountain to see the beautiful views and lake Guatavita. Tasty food also!Written 8 February 2025

We chose a private Guatavita tour and it was well worth the time and money. David was our guide and he was a delight. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of the area. He also encouraged us to discuss and ask questions about anything and everything. This allowed us to really get to learn about Colombia and the culture. I brought a book because I thought I’d have down time in the car, but I don’t think we stopped speaking the entire day.
We made a pit stop on the way up and had a chance for refreshments and a couple of photos. At Laguna de Guatavita, we followed a larger group that was Spanish only, but David conducted everything in English. The hike to the lagoon was a little more work that I expected. So start working on your cardio now! But it was absolutely beautiful and worth the increased BPM.
After the hike, we stopped at the parking area and purchased a couple of trinkets and bought arepas. They were the best arepas of my entire life. I had two!
Afterwards we headed to lunch. The views couldn’t be beat and we continued to have good conversation.
Last we stopped in New Guatavita. Honestly, I could have spent an entire afternoon there. It is a charming little town and we happened to be there when a festival was happening.
It was a full day, but so worth it and the time really flew by. We were picked up and dropped off by our driver, Juan David. He wasn’t as talkative as David, but we did get a chance to practice his English a little bit.
I definitely recommend Gran Colombian tours. Easy to book and quality experience.

I really liked the tour, I had to go with Camilo and it was very attentive.
He picked us up at the hotel, explained things about life in Bogotá and was pointing things out on the way to Guatavita.
In the village we passed a coke tea and climbed the Lagoon.
Back the food was very rich and hearty.
He dropped us off at the airport and showed us the door to move on to boarding.
All very well!
Thank you very much

We weren’t sure what to expect with the ever changing weather in Bogota and Andes Mountains but it was a great tour! Our guide Luis wasn’t feeling his best (think he was sick) but he knew we were in town for only 2 days and wanted to ensure we didn’t miss the trip. Even though he wasn’t feeling well, he pushed through and did the hike with us, translated and showed us a great time! He was so knowledgeable of the area and the history of the Lake and Muisca tribe it allowed us to really take it all in! We passed through some farmland on the way down and got to meet some cows and chickens. Afterwards he took us to a restaurant for lunch and with my vegan dietary restrictions worked with the restaurant to ensure I had yummy options! I would definitely recommend this tour group and Luis to other people.

Firstly, I thank our guide Yelitza, since without her motivation I would not have been able to finish climbing the mountain 😂 it was my first hiking tour. Both places, the stories, the legends are fascinating! We chose the included lunch option; delicious. We loved everything!!!

The Graffiti Tour was awesome. Some of the art is amazing! Free Walking Tour is insightful with numerous stops..big fan of chica! Laguna de Guatavita was unbelievable, especially if you enjoy history and nature. The tour was in Spanish but there is a lady who was able to translate and willing to answer any questions. Also had a good chat with Jesus (the dude in charge to take you there and back). Amazing lunch stop off on the way back. Highly recommend eating Ajiaco! Both tours are good. Definitely recommend Laguna de Guatavita, highly memorable.

This was a really great trip for us with Gerardo. The drive through the countryside to The village, then the lagoon hike was a one-of-a kind experience with incredible views and guided history or the area and indigenous culture, capped off with delicious local arepas straight off the grill. Highly recommend this day trip!

We were so lucky to see one of the world’s most significant places in the Indigenous culture of Latin America - long before colonialism. The meaning and symbolism of the ritualistic practice of giving gold to the lake is commonly referred to as El Dorado. David our Guide was a tremendous source of knowledge and also great fun. The town near the lake is a hidden treasure as well. Great eco/tourism. Strongly recommend.
