About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- antoniogF1994NB0 contributionsNeeds more StructureI felt like this tour provided us with minimal guidance. They were not too communicative on where to meetup, I would have appreciated reference pictures and reminders day of. When we got to the salt mine the instructor ditched us and left us with a tour guide at the site or audio headset tour for English speakers. After the tour we had to wait a bit for bus to pick us up then we had lunch at Zipaquira. The lunch was amazing if it weren't for the great meal I would have left 2 stars.Written 7 March 2025
- Y9454OOstevey0 contributionsGreat place to visitNot as crowded as they tell you. It is so much better than expected. We took a Uber for a round trip that costed us less than $100, including 2 hours waiting time. Try to avoid rush hours because traffic is very bad in Bogota.Written 2 March 2025
- NatLane0 contributionsGreat tour and the guide was so informative and helpfulAn interesting destination. The guide was amazing, friendly and helpful. Her job is hard. It’s like herding cats. Give people a time to meet and invariably they don’t bother. She had the patience of a saint. Her English was fantastic. The driver did so well in the horrendous traffic. The communal meal was fab. It’s always great to chat to people from other parts of the world. Language has no barriers in these situations and it’s what makes travel so awesome.Written 18 February 2025
- TallyDan0 contributionsTrip to Salt CathedralGreat day! Enjoyed this solo trip with a energetic and knowledgeable young woman guide, Tatiana, I believe. In addition to the cathedral, Zipaquira was an interesting town to wander around.Written 15 February 2025
- Ritchiesl0 contributionsFantastic introduction to BogotaOur guide Esteban was excellent. He was so knowledgable about Bogota and enthusiastic to tell us what he knew. He made the stops really worthwhile as he came off the bus with us to show us things that we wouldn’t otherwise have seen. Really enjoyed it.Written 6 February 2025

- nacardozog0 contributionsAn exceptional brief onset to BogotáDespite the difficult traffic in Bogotá, the tour is useful for learning about some interesting topics of the city's history, culture and tourist spots. We met again with the guide Néstor, his work was impeccable since he knows his city in depth, he wants tourists to know the city so they want to return. I recommend taking this tour in the morning because in the afternoons the traffic in Bogotá is chaotic and hellish.Written 27 November 2024
- 803allisterw0 contributionsNot to be missed! It was a whole lot more than what I was expecting. A random guy singing opera in one of the alcoves. Very moving! Our guide Estaban took great care of us and made sure we took in the highlights.Written 20 November 2024

- lilirs0 contributionsFantastic Day TripDiego and Carmelo (our driver) were fantastic. They were attentive and knowledgeable and really made the experience that much better. The activity itself was very memorable. The town of Zipaquira is quaint and full of history, with great little restaurants. The Salt Cathedral is impressive! Be sure to check out the video that details the history and the process. It’s really amazing to experience such a unique place. Diego does not accompany you during this tour as you have your own guided tour with the ticket, but he and Carmelo wait for you at the exit. The restaurant after the cathedral was a treat as well. The food was delicious and really left us full for the rest of the day. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a fantastic day!!Written 18 October 2024

I had an incredible experience going to Guatavita Lake and Salt Cathedral. Our guide, Camilo, and our driver, Andres, did everything to make our journey unforgettable.
Even if the tour price is not the cheapest, it is entirely worth it. I could appreciate all the nature and history in all their splendour. During the trip, everything was well explained, and we even had the opportunity to try typical cuisine. Camilo also helped me improve my historical understanding by trying to talk to me in Portuguese.
The only things I think could be improved are telling people beforehand (preferably at booking time) that we can't enter Guatavita Lake with any kind of plastic and how much money it would be advisable to take to experience everything in its fullness.

My experience was excellent, from the start time, very punctual at the right place, the guide Diego was super good because he tells you what your tuors consists of and throughout the trip he makes you even more interested in getting to know the place you will visit, this tuors You cannot miss it. It is a wonderful experience to reach the top of the Guatavita lagoon. It is a vibe and mixed sensations that make you thank the universe for being there. The church of Sal is incredible. Each of its paths makes the eye marvel. of its history and each sculpture in it, they give you a delicious coffee from DOMO'S Coffee and a delicious hand exfoliation with salts from the souvenir Spa of which I was delighted, your hands are like a baby, the driver Carmelo is an excellent driver and makes you feel safe throughout the trip. You will not regret taking this tuors, it is worth every peso you spend on it.

This is a very well-organized tour with a terrific staff, who helps to guide you through the significance of each site you visit. Our guide, Carolina, was extremely informative and knowledgeable, and also gave us the time and space to wander and explore when needed. The pick up location and instruction for the bus is clearly identified and communicated. If Lake Guatavita is on your list, or if you simply want to get out of Bogota for a day, this is a trip that is well worth your time and money.

Overall, this was a great tour worth the money and time invested. The two locations were amazing and the tour guide, Steven, was extremely knowledgeable about everything relating to the tour. My only complaint and the reason why I am not giving it a five-star review is because of the pick-up / drop-off location. Unfortunately, Bogota is not the safest city and the neighborhood of Candelaria is not the best neighborhood to be dropped off at night, specially for people who are not familiar with the city.

Hi Valentina, thanks for your comment.
At first moment of the company we picked up at hotels and after a short time of period, we realized that it was complicated in this city, both due to failure to comply with times, logistics and sometimes clients took longer than requested, putting the experience in the worst place.
Thinking about that, we placed the pick-up points in strategic places where the hotels are or where tourists can easily get to. That is why there is the park on 93 and Candelaria, which are references in this matter. Maybe the Candelaria point is empty around in the mornings, but that's why we stop next to a coffee to provide a little security, protection and comfort to our passengers. At night many of the places are closed around, although there is Revellion when they get off which is a good place to eat, have a drink and then wait for a taxi if you want to get around. Maybe it's alone at night at that point, but even if we wanted to help them a little more, Candelaria´s streets don't let the bus enter due to size and weight restrictions, so we have to turn around on the avenue. jimenez.
Another option was to get off at the park on 93 (so popular at night), or even along the way if you talk to the driver and ask him for a favor, the idea is to give the best possible service and if you can get off earlier and miss a taxi, Uber or app use available, welcome. That's even why we have internet, because you can order the car and have it there at the point for when you arrive.
Likewise, thank you very much for your stars, your comments and all this helps us to grow and improve. We will take it into account to look at options and alliances.

People in my group were late - bus depart time was 8:10 and they arrived at 8:25. I understand the bus had to leave. The host asked us to take taxi to the next stop. We spent $120 on a taxi and reached the location but the bus and group was nowhere to be found and couldn't be contacted. Finally, we went to the entrance of the park and the attendant said that the tour company did not pay for our tickets and asked to pay cash in Peso - we had a hard time finding the money but we did. Then when we entered the park they said that we cannot go ahead to join our group because they did not get any instructions, and we will have to stay with the new spanish speaking group. We ran the last 1km and finally caught the bus. It took us to the lunch place and spent 90 mins instead of 1hr, then they took us to the salt cathedral and gave us 3 hrs instead of 2 hrs. We reached back 2hrs later and missed our work dinner. If they had the extra time buffer built in, they could have waited, or gave instructions at the park entrance after telling us to take a taxi there. The whole experience was stressful and expensive - in part because we were late and in part because of poor mitigation plans by the tour company. It would have been easier if they said, you missed the bus and we cant do anything now.

Camilo made the experience great, always very attentive to our comments and cared for us.
I recommend taking the tour with them, they are very punctual when it comes to pick up and drop off. Besides, they were always very kind to us and explain the why of many things, as well as additional information to have a better experience.
I highly recommend this your whether you are traveling alone or with family.

The collection at the pick-up point was on time and in a clean bus.
We went to Parque 93 to pick up a few more people and also met our guide.
Our guide, Sergio, was friendly and knew lots about the lake and its legend.
We first visited the lake, where Sergio told us many stories about the ancient people and the gold traditions.
Afterwards, we made a short hike to the top of the mountain. It was moderately challenging, as the height was around 3,900M above sea level. But, at the top, the views are worth it!
We were also taken to a restaurant for lunch after the lake. This is not included, but the price is very reasonable and also the quality of service & food is great!
Now, to the salt cathedral. It is a 10-minute drive from the restaurant to the main entrance.
You will be given a small audio guide to hold up to your ear. When you reach a numbered station, you press the code and listen to the stories.
The lower level has great coloured lighting effects and a nice chapel with luxury chandeliers.
The tour is well worth doing, especially for the decent price.
But, it is a very long day, around 13 hours or so, so be warned as it can make you tired.
But all in all, what a day! Thank you, Bogota bus and Sergio, for your excellent service.

We had an amazing tour to the Salt Cathedral and Laguna Guatavita with Tatiana and Alexander. Tatiana was a sunny sweet girl and engaging guide, full of energy and knowledge. She shared fascinating insights about Colombia’s indigenous peoples, their culture, customs, and social structure, which really enriched the experience. We appreciated her kindness and how she made the day so enjoyable. Her passion for sharing Colombia’s history and traditions truly made the tour unforgettable. Highly recommend!

The tour is fantastic! We left at 8:10 am and came back at 8:30 pm, it’s definitely not the kind of activity my husband and I could have done by ourselves as efficiently as this tour. I could see that all the negative reviews were taking into consideration and now this tour provides a plan of activities with the timeframe for every one of them, umbrellas for those who don’t have them, a stop for lunch and a recommended restaurant where you can eat or choose to eat somewhere else if you like. Most of us went with the recommended option and tried some of the local dishes that we would probably never try in other places (like the miner’s plate). The tour to the lagoon was available in Spanish but our guide also provided some info for non-Spanish speakers, we tried joining the Spanish group but at first there were too many people and we could barely hear the local guide so we stayed with our City Bus guide but also listened to the local guide when we caught up with the Spanish group. The places you'll see and hear on this tour are a must if you visit Colombia for the first time and the organization of this tour is great! We even got a free cup of coffee in the Cathedral and a free salt spa session with a small gift.

I liked the experience but if you’re not familiarize with the traffic from this city I would recommend checking online. We missed the bus and they told me it says to arrive 10 minutes earlier but it doesn’t. I didn’t know the traffic was horrible in this city.
