About
A place that captivates its authenticity is the Nemocón Salt Mine, which is reached in thirty minutes from Zipaquirá. There, 80 meters below ground, travelers travel 1,600 meters of tunnels, from which approximately 8 million tons of salt were extracted between 1816 and 1968.
The 28 brine mirrors attract attention, in which salt rocks dissolved and produce an impressive optical effect. In the chapel's chamber there is a huge 1,300-kilogram stone sphere that symbolizes the world.
Another attraction of great importance is the salt crystal of 1,600 kilos, carved in the shape of a heart in the '60s by the miner Miguel Sánchez. In the tour, you can see the stalactites and stalagmites and there are even an ecological trail, an auditorium, and a geology room.

- DonnaInDurham0 contributionsNo idea how these people are still in business.Tried to email and call for days in advance to confirm hotel pickup. No response. Arrived in Cartagena the day before our tour and asked the hotel concierge to help us. Phone number wasn’t working. Finally got an email about 12 hours in advance saying the tour was cancelled. Had to scramble to find something else to do with the day with very little time to plan. They did say they would refund me, but the inconvenience of this when we are supposed to be on vacation was a hassle. Instead, book your tours through Experience Real Cartagena. There, Alex and his family (it’s a family run business) will treat you like royalty!!Written 24 May 2024
- JohnL82490 contributionsA new Wonder of the WorldThe only reason to visit Bogota is the Salt Cathedral. This Cathedral is built inside the mines of Zipaquira. You enter and see the 14 Stations of Christ. Then you descend to the actual service area. Everything is carved from salt including the kneeling stations at each station and the service area. Services area held there every Sunday midday. (So avoid Sunday if you do not want crowds. I was also told that Holy Week is very busy. This is a wonder of the new world. One thing is the lighting is very low so picture taking is hard (as you will see) and the tunnels are carved into the salt so the floor is uneven.Written 2 February 2024
- Mspnivy0 contributionsA Scam?Trip would have been much improved if they had picked us up! They are good at taking money, but not good at producing the tour. So far, reimbursement promises have not been kept, nor has there been an apology. Complicated web of companies.Written 5 August 2023
- 442rauls0 contributionsAVOID AT ALL COSTSHi, My partner and me were travelling around the Cali region and booked a 2 day trip with turismoi to Alto anchicaya, provided by a local travel agency called “travel Guia”. This trip costed 945.000 COP for both of us (approx 200 USD). Before we booked them, we used TURISMOI live chat to make sure if the trip was cancelled by them, they would reinburse the money. This confirmed by them, so we moved forward and booked a trip for the 6th of January on their website. The day before the trip, someone from turismoi contacted us to inform us that the trip was cancelled because allegedly the zone was not secure. Strangely when we asked for more details, they sent us an outdated news article from august 2021, the was the first red flag we had. They then suggested to replace our 2 day trip for a much less expensive day trip they had in their website, for the same price. That was the second red flag of them trying to scam us. Therefore, we asked them to reimburse us the money of our trip since they were not able to give us the service we had payed for. To our surprise they denied and said they could not give us back our money and that we had to choose one of their limited options. I am sharing with the community of travellers to make up your own mind and see the legitimacy of our complain, as well as the receipt. They just stopped communicating with us when we insisted to get the money back. Since we live abroad, we were not ready to jeopardise our vacations for the negligence and bad practice of an agency. We decided to contact a different agency in the area recommended to us by our hotel manager (if interested, we had a great experience with them, they are based in cali, it is Oliveiro Tours). Essentially turismoi is a big platform that works around the world with local agencies. While we can understand they might have to cancel trips for logistical reasons. However if they are not able to deliver a service, they have legal obligations to reimburse the money to the clients and not impose whatever trip they want at whatever price they consider. Worst experience and really hope this doesn’t happen again. Safe travel. 🫶Written 19 January 2023
- Theromanlady0 contributionsAnd then we stumbled on ParadisrOur stay was unexpected as it had not been planned and, like many impromptu things, was magical. The place, the natural beauty, the charmant personality of Pierre, the hospitality of all the people working in the island resort, made it memorable. We highly recommend it if you are looking for subtle luxury and enchanting beauty. SabinaWritten 20 October 2022

- ArijitS760 contributionsNever book any tour with Turismoi.co...NEVER!!!These people do not respect your time. The owners are operating from Peru and they book tour through local agencies and post them with a higher price.better book directly with local agencies.my call time was 7 am and the company repeatedly messaged me from last two days to be ready and wait in the lobby 15 mins in advance.I kept waiting till 8:00 am, message in viator, there was no response,no one reached me, and at 8:30 the guide came who was not speaking 'ENGLISH' even though the toure was booked in English. Why pay more for a local spanish speaking tour?also you cannot justify a delay of 1 hour 30 minsWritten 30 May 2021
