Itinerary
- 18:00 a.m.Pick up in a hotel or private house in Villa Morra (or in Las Carmelitas). We drive to Itauguá, the city where Ñanduti is made, one of the most characteristic popular expressions in Paraguay. The second stop is the city of Itá, a colonial city founded in 1539 and known as the “capital of ceramics”. We continue towards the city of Yaguarón, the main attraction of which is the Baroque-style Franciscan Church of San Buenaventura, built between 1755 and 1772 by Guaraní natives under the direction of Castro Carlos, member of the Franciscan Order. The next city we will visit is that of Sapucai, where we will visit an impressive museum of railway industry and the famous English mansion where the English engineers from Europe lived in. Finally we visit the city of Pirayu. Here we will make a brief visit to the train station, which was completed in 1864 and was a main route for the transfer of troops and belongings during the “Great War”. 6:00 p.m. Arrival again in Asunción
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- janetsI8203ZH0 contributionsVery poor customer serviceThe driver/guide didn’t come to collect me from my hotel as arranged. Even though the tour was paid for prior to the day there was no notice or advice to say the tour was cancelled. I waited in the hotel lobby for an hour and a half, half an hour before the arranged collection time and another hour after, just in case the driver was delayed due to traffic. I have requested a full refund as the tour didn’t go ahead through no fault of my own. I am traveling solo but did pay double as the booking was for a 2 person minimum.Written 8 June 2023
- jorgekalm0 contributionsCharge You and No Show.Do not hire this company. They will take your money and never show up. This happened to us. Our hotel, the Sheraton, told us that they have had multiple complaints from their guests about this company as well. Charging you and never providing their service. We are now taking this up with Trip Advisor and our credit card.Written 11 February 2023
- Lidia T0 contributionsClean and nice sign in the placeIt was few people visiting the place. It is near the river and behind the Lopez Palace. Evey city now a day has this sign.Written 19 June 2022
- Cathy H0 contributionsGuide was so exceptional hired him for rest of day; took Golden Triangle tour with him the next dayAsk for Jose Acosta, a freelance guide who works for City Tour. Ended up with a private tour since I was the only one who signed up. We saw all the usual sights, monuments, Barro Museum, which is superb. AND, Jose showed me the realities of Asunción, how it developed, why cobblestone streets in the richest neighborhoods (slows down drivers), how riverside is being developed... what is happening with the tent city refugees from the floods earlier in the year. I felt like I understand Asunción. So much so, that when a friend from the same conference contacted me, we hired Jose Acosta for the afternoon and he repeated some of the tour and added other sights. Terrific.Written 19 August 2019
- Siobhan O0 contributionsNot as advertisedTo say this tour was disappointing is an understatement It started at hour late We weren’t back in our hotel until 6:30pm (the guide had already left us - with the driver who spoke no English) All day it was obvious neither the guide or driver were confident of the tour not to mention the route! Relying on google maps for majority of the day We saw churches we ‘passed by’ villages rather than visiting them We saw jewellery in a shop window! Not worth the time or the money! Disappointed!Written 11 July 2019
- tikicici20 contributionscrowed but nice.do not try to drive in Asuncion, just hire a tour guide they know the way around. its very hard to keep track of the traffic patterns (if any). get nice pictures of the palace. the local market is huge and busy. the city felt safe asked the tour guide to take you around the town and see the mansions from the early century. amazing...Written 21 February 2019
