          Kakheti Tour
Unfortunately we did not receive a full list of services that we were told were included in the price of the tour. A bunch of excuses were offered but we were not refunded the money for the part of the services that were not provided. The supposed guide was merely a driver and not a guide and various master classes we were told would be part of the tour were absent.

          Good & Friendly
August-2019: The tour started late and ended late so if you booking I recommend you to not have any evening plans for the day. Daviti is awesome and he is very humorous as well, he knows how to pull the crowd and is pretty knowledgeable. I will recommend to book this tour. July-2024: I went in 2019 and the above review was in my draft which for soem reason was not posted then, strange I logged into this after years and this review was there as it it was destined to be posted. I am not sure if this tour company still operates or not... Lol.. please check it, thanks

          Do not book!
Ghvinisi wine spot is closed since about a year. Why do they still offer this activity? Was cancelled a couple of hours before by mail.

Amazing custom qvevri winemaking tour with a knowledgeable, fun guide
I was absolutely enchanted and fascinated by my tour through Kakheti with Daviti. I'm a writer and I was specifically interested in traditional qvevri winemaking for a new book I am writing. As a winemaker himself with roots in Kakheti, Daviti was an incredible fount of knowledge about endemic grapes, the entire process, the connections with Georgian culture and history... it was beyond wonderful. When I told him what I was interested in learning, he designed a custom tour that took us to a larger family-owned winery, a roadside bakery/cheesemaker with homemade wine, a smaller local winemaker, and even the maker of the actual qvevri (pottery vessels used for fermenting underground). Even in early spring, with plants just beginning to bloom, the countryside was beautiful and everyone we encountered was so generous with their hospitality and answering my questions. Next time I'm in Georgia I would absolutely travel with Daviti again and I can't recommend him highly enough!

          Disappointing and unprofessional
Daviti the owner is a con artist, we paid him all what we agreed on however he kept asking for more money for fuel and so on although the agreement was all inclusive and he owed us around 150$ by the end of our trip which he promised that he would give back the last day before we traveled but he didn't promising us that he will transfer it later by paypal and he kept postponing day after day giving excuses until he stopped answering his whatsapp and basically never returned the money. His energy was low throughout and didn't feel that he is enjoying what he is doing. Very disappointed with his unprofessional behavior.

Disappointing. I would not have booked it if I had know.
The driver was friendly and very easy to like. However he was a driver, not a guide. And his level of English was very basic. Normally the tour should have been done on Monday. This was the day I have booked and for the day I received a confirmation. But 1,5hrs (!!!) before the tour would start on monday, I got an whatsapp with the message we had the choice: or we pay more for if we want the tour on monday, or we do the tour another day. So this is already very shifty. We chose to do the tour on Tuesday. When reading the tour description again now, I have the feeling that some parts of the tour we had are different than in the description. I’m utterly disappointed in the tour. I had high expections because of all positive reviews, however what has been promised is not fulfilled. And you cannot cancel a tour 1,5hr before it starts.

          Hopefully not the typical experience.
I struggle with writing this review as the actual experience was poor, but the company responded in a positive manner once I was able to express just how poor the experience was. From what I understand, my experience with this tour was not typical. The owner, Davit explained that he did not lead the tour as he had an emergency and had to find last minute coverage. Whatever the excuse, our tour did not include all of the wineries and activities, did not have an English speaking guide and left us to guess what we were experiencing and what would come next. However, the food was delicious and the scenery beautiful and the wine at the one winery we visited was quite good. When it was all said and done, once I expressed just how disappointed we were, Davit did refund us fully. While I appreciate that and appreciate that this was (according to him) an unusual experience, I would have rather had the experience expected as expressed by other reviews. I would be willing to give him another chance as I do think he is sincere when he says that this was not the typical experience. I hope that is true.

          Amazing Time
Daviti was an amazing host we had a blast seeing georgia and learning how Georgian wine is made and enjoyed an amazing local dinner. This tour was a highlight of our trip.

          Great day!
All the food and wine was excellent and Dhaviti is a fantastic host! Loved the smaller group vibe making it a real experience from the bread making to the questions he kindly answered along the way. One of our favourite days on holiday!

          Good and bad trip
We turned up with a promise of an air-conditioned bus with snacks welcome drink and wifi. In fact we had a old rented mini van with no snacks or water. We were brought to a garage to buy our own snacks. This was a very disappointing start. The guide was friendly and personable and tried hard to make the trip interesting. We went to a winery which was ok and was then offered an upgraded winery experience for 30gel extra each. This was actually a very nice place and worth the money. We then stopped at a bread place where we got a chance to make mother's bread in a traditional oven, which was fun. We then drove to beautiful monastery over signali and then into the city of love. We then had all opted for the optional 50 gel Supra. This was an hour and a half drive but was actually very nice. A lovely family run place with loads of great food and wine. The owners were super nice. Then it was 2.5 hours drive back to Tbilisi getting back at 10pm. All in all it was good but could have been more wine orientated and the items promised should have been provided.

          Tour of the Kakheti Region
This tour was excellent for showing us the Kakheti region. We got to make traditional bread in a super-hot oven – the bread was amazing and it was a highlight of the day. We also went to a convent and to Signagi– which is a beautiful little town with ancient fortifications. If you want to see the Kakheti region, then this is the tour for you! If, however, you are interested in doing wine tastings at multiple vineyards, there may be other tours better for you. We tasted a couple of wines in the morning at a corporate facility, pouring wine directly from huge vats in a warehouse – which was an interesting experience. And then we didn’t go to another winery until 6 in the evening when we did a tasting and then had dinner. There were a lot of good experiences on the trip, but it was not the wine tasting-focused tour I had hoped for. Our tour guide Davidzi was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and spoke excellent English.

          Georgian bread and wine
Vineria Kakheti and "helping" a local lady to make a Georgian bread were top highlights of the trip!

          Wine&food tasting
Very good and authentic winetasting experience in a small group. Got to taste 12 different wines and 2 chacha and learnt a lot about Georgian winemaking. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks to our driver and guide David Barjadze who spoke good english and was very nice and kind.
