We considered at the last minute during our stay in Tbilisi to go on a day trip to northern Armenia (we decided only one day prior). Our hotel recommended a tour which seemed overpriced so we did quick research on our own and found out about Gamarjoba Georgia Tours. We contacted Lana who clearly answered our questions and we booked with this company. The morning of departure, a company representative was at the meeting point at the time indicated and we were led to the tour office for registration and payment so all pre-tour steps went very smoothly.

During the tour our guide was Guga - some call him Google because of his deep knowledge of the local history. We have been on several tours recently in various parts of the world including tours to Granada (Nicaragua), to the Korean Demilitarized Zone between South Korea and North Korea, to Bali, and to Petra (Jordan). It is with this background in mind that we can say our guide Guga was the best guide we have come across recently. He was very friendly, spoke excellent English, and the way he presented information to his guests was interesting and entertaining, without being overbearing with information overflow either.

Given the attractive price we paid for this tour relative to other competing companies, and given how well the pre-tour steps were handled plus the quality of the guide, I can highly recommend this company.

The other people who had booked this tour didn’t show up, so it was just me, my guide Giorgi Megrelishvili (Megrela, for us tourists) and our driver in his car. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this company for not canceling the tour when only one person was going on it. This ended up being one of my favorite tours ever, partly because it was such a beautiful country, but mostly because of the tour guide, who was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. We had the best day, seeing the sights, etc. His knowledge of history is vast, and he has such a neat way of working his sense of humor into things. He is a wizard with a camera, and shot many interesting pics and videos for me. He taught me things about my iPhone camera I had no idea about. He has excellent taste in music (as did the driver, even though he spoke no English) and we shared songs and tales of concerts past throughout the day. I taught him about dad jokes and puns, and he was delighted to see how my brain worked to come up with those. Now he is a dad-joker in training. = )

Armenia was beautiful, the towns, churches, monasteries, etc were gorgeous and filled with history. At one place, in a building with amazing acoustics, Giorgi sang a couple songs for me. His glorious voice in that amazing building—I’m getting shivers just remembering how amazing it was. The old copper mines were really neat, as were the small green streams coming down from the copper-rich mountains. The restaurant where we had lunch had delicious food. Getting across the border each way was no problem at all. I highly recommend this tour. This was one of my favorite days in a month-long trip.

While in Tbilisi I discovered that I could visit Armenia for a day and decided to go with it. What. Great decision! This day is definitely one of the highlight of my trip. First of all, I want to thank Gamarjoba tours because I booked very last minute on the evening before and they were extremely reactive. We were a group of 5 with Tornike as our guide and Mischka as our driver. We had so much fun! Tornike explained a lot about Armenia while cracking many jokes and it was very enjoyable. Our driver was the best at driving those difficult Armenian roads and I felt super safe. He also nicely stopped when I asked for a random photo so thanks again.
The sites themselves were beautiful and we were often the only one there.
All in all it was a perfect day and I would recommand you to go.

This has to be one of the best tours I've ever taken anywhere in the World! We were picked up on time at 9am from our hotel by our guide and driver, for our private tour. From the moment we met our guide Beca, we knew this was going to be a magical day!

He made us feel right at home, and took us on this fantastic journey, as if we were part of his family! He was so knowledgeable on both countries, and gave us some awesome detailed information on both cultures! The trip to the border was roughly 1h15, and crossing both sides took about 45 minutes.

Once on the other side, the roads get pretty bad for about 40 minutes. It was so bad, that we sadly got a flat tire. That being said, our driver Misha and Beca changed it in 7 minutes!!! Wow, these guys should be working pit crew for F1.

The 3 Monasteries we visited were all unique and spectacular! The stories Beca gave us on all three were so riveting and fascinating! I hadn't seen anything like this before, and it is an absolute must do! I can't thank this company enough for putting such a once in a lifetime tour for my wife and I. We will now have a lifetime friendship with Beca!!! Madloba!

This is the day tour of Gamarjoba Tours that I have not joined yet, so I decided to book it (night prior the trip. thank Baya!) for me and my friend since we have a free day.

We ended up being the only 2 people in that tour but it still pushed through. Our guide Lasha/Len and driver Mikhail/the Beardman were so friendly and accommodating, it felt just like a group of friends that decided to visit Lori for the day.

I was really amazed on all the monasteries that we visited not only because of the beautiful structure, but also the stories/history behind it. Len was really a knowledgeable guide — it felt like with all the info he shared, he’s gonna give a pop quiz at the end of the tour! :)

If you have a free day on your trip, I highly recommend you to join this tour! Once again, good job Gamarjoba Tours! 🤍

Tamuna was a really great guide! She explained the history and background of Armenia while on the way to the destination, then she took the time to inform us about each place and made sure to point out the best photo spots. Misha was a patient driver as well. He didn't mind when we took ages to take photos at certain spots. Wonderful tour!

What a wonderful day trip to Armenia! It will bring you back in time, experience a real life time machine! You will discover its past history and still experience at present. This tour takes you to the past, Once you get into Armenia, it looks like time has stopped and you suddenly just entered in another dimension! The places visited, the monasteries, are such peaceful places, with an unexplainable peaceful and chanting atmosphere. Akhtala, Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries are classified as a World Heritage Site were built in the 10th-13th centuries. They are a testament to Armenia's rich and ancient spiritual history and are well worth a visit, well preserved, wonderful inside and outside.

We had the best tour to Armenia with Tornike and Sophie. Tornike was fun to be with, friendly and very informative. I can hardly imagine a better way to become familiar with Armenian heritage. Sophie was my contact person at Gamarjoba Georgia Tours. She was so kind, an amazing lovely young lady who make sure that we have the best tours to all our 5 booked tours in Gamarjoba Georgia Tours. The assistance was really excellent! and of course, to our driver (i forgot his name) who was great as well, drove safely. Myself and my good friend Fe had a good nap in between our trip🙂.

We had lunch in a local family home. The food was delicious and lunch was a pleasant experience.

They made the whole experience very fun, enjoyable and informative. The monasteries were beautiful and glad that we got to see a glimpse of Armenia in our short time here.

Thank you so much guys and thank you Gamarjoba for having a great team!

This was a great tour that exceeded my expectations. Nika (guide) and Misho (driver) were wonderful. Nika spoke excellent English and was very entertaining and knowledgeable of all of the sites we visited. Misha was a superb driver, successfully minimizing the "Armenian massage" effects of the rough road surfaces and potholes. The tour is a very interesting mix of historic monasteries, decayed and grim industrial landscape, spectacular natural mountain/canyon landscapes and excellent food. Highly recommended and great value.

We chose the Armenia tour and had the great pleasure tu meet The tour guide Georgi (young Stalin for friends 😄)
The tour with him was amazing. He knew exactly how to entertain us and made us enjoy every single moment of the journey.
He is very knowledgeable and always had a prompt answer for every question.
I truly recommend this tour both for the landscape of Armenia (we felt like we were in a time machine taking us back in time) and of course for the great time you will spend with Georgi.

My daughter and I booked the Armenia trip in mid September. And what a great day we had with guide Sophia and driver Stephan. Sophia gave us a great insight into both Georgian and Armenian culture, history and church architecture. The monasteries were hugely impressive and will live long in the memory. But the highligh for us was Sophies performance of a beautiful Georgian song in the Acoustics Hall at the Armenian Hajhpat Monastery. Wow!
