About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- traveller220720150 contributionsWell planned tour but not so good guide/driverWe , as two senior couples, had gone on a private tour end of sep 2024. Whilst I would recommend the tour since it covers all the important ploces. However, I would not recommend the Driver, George, who accompanied us for following reasons: 1. He turned up half an hour late to pick us up. 2. The first two destinations were Jvari and Uplistsike. He brifed us during the drive but did not accompany us to the actual location; preferring to sit in the car parking and asking us to just follow other visitors. He acted more as an English speaking driver than a guide. Only after my pointing out to him that all other groups are accompanied by Guide providing intricate details as well as helping the guests in difficult terrain; did he join us for next two destinations. My recommendation is that you should check out the guide before joining this trip ( I had requested Karlo to accompany us personally but he regretted)Written 1 October 2024
- scenic_cruising0 contributionsEasy transfer highly recommendedVery good experience with Karlo-Georgia. Our driver was Avto and he was very friendly, we chatted the whole way from Tbilisi to Yerevan. It was a long drive, but Avto drove very safely all the way. We had plently of time at each of the 3 stops: Haghartsin Monastery, Dilijan and Sevanavank Monastery. Avto didn't rush us at all, he was a very kind and gentle person. I would highly recommend using Karlo-Georgia for transfers between Tbilisi and Yerevan.Written 29 September 2024
- scenic_cruising0 contributionsRecommended - excellent tourExcellent tours with Karlo. Karlo was a very good driver. We felt very safe with him. He was really friendly, funny and took very good photos for us! Communication was very good before the tours. We had plently of time at each of the stops. We didn't feel rushed at all. Karlo accompanied us to the points of interest on the tour, gave us brief interesting history and then gave us free time for photos. Highly recommended!Written 29 September 2024
- Daniel S0 contributionsFantastic day outside TbilisiFantastic trip, Lika is a fantastic tour guide and driver. She answered all our questions and added many fun anecdotes. She was very attentive to our interests and gave us space and time to explore the beautiful sights of Georgia. Highly recommend spending a day exploring with herWritten 21 September 2024
- mattmF126LZ0 contributionsEasy, Safe, ProfessionalGeorge is amazing! He is so professional and also knows how to make the whole ride fun. Communicating with George was responsive. He explained the border crossing thoroughly and waited patiently even though the line was long. Each stop he was willing to get out and show me the significance of the monastery and lakes, or was happy to let me explore on my own if I wanted.Written 11 September 2024
- Isaac S0 contributionsThe best tour I have ever gone onWe went on two day trips with Karlo. He is the best tour guide we have ever used. He knows all the best spots and how to avoid the crowds. It was magic how we were always in these amazing locations and as we are leaving all the crowds would come. It was perfect. With his tour, you go to soo many more places than you would with a big tour bus. It was the highlight of our trip to Tbilisi. We saw 3x as much with him compared to if we used a different tour guide. He takes amazing pictures and videos as well. He knows the perfect spots for the pictures and I’m in shock by how good my iPhone pictures look. He said he used to be a camera man for a big company so that explains how he knows how to work angles and light so well. We will be telling all our friends and family how this is the best vacation you can do. I travel a lot and can confidently say I will be back to go on more tours with Karlo and his company. The wine and food is amazing on this trip as well. I couldn’t believe we had a private winery tour with the owner and how the winery owner’s family made the food. It was absolutely surreal.Written 6 September 2024
- eduardmS64NG0 contributionsNice full-day tourSalome picked us right from AirBNB in mid-morning and guided us for a full day tour through the Georgian historical and cultural heritage. We had a stop at Jvari fortress and church located at the top of a cliff over the two rivers junction. Then we drove to the ancient Uplistsike cave town with its' halls and tunnels carved right into the rock. Then we had a shorter stop in Gori to see Stalin's museum. Another long stop was in Mtskheta - the ancient capital with a major historical Svetitskhoveli cathedral. Salome adviced us on the Georgian cuisine and brought us to a small local restaurant to taste lobio and khinkali. She was very nice and freindly - as she helped us with other local specialities and souvenirs and told us some stories about the life in Georgia in the past and now - beyond the things you could learn from a textbook.Written 2 September 2024
- C5257LHamyb0 contributionsStalin Museum, Gori, Mtskheta, Chronicles of GeorgiaMy Husband and I had the best time with George. We were looked after from start to finish and made feel very comfortable and welcome. George was super friendly and knowledgeable about each location we visited. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the main attractions outside Tblisi! He also has great recommendations for places to eat too, just ask!Written 2 September 2024
- 5fortravel0 contributionsDoes Karlo need an another 5 star review?Does Karlo really need another 5-star review? No, But it would be unfair not to leave one. We’ve been to nearly a hundred countries and only a few guides really stand out in our memories. Karlo will be one of them. Karlo took us on a city tour of Tbilisi. The tour featured a little outdoors, a little history, some culture, some religion. Karlo provides interesting commentary, certainly about average for a guide. But there are three uncommon things. First, he takes great pictures, not surprising for a former TV cameraman. Second, he’s sharp and insightful in a funny way. Finally, he knows how to consider other people, for example, letting us wait in the shade on a hot day while he waited in line for us. You get the idea. So, if you are not a package traveler looking for an independent guide, Karlo’s your guy.Written 25 August 2024

- LDID20220 contributionsLearn about History and Culture with a great guide! We had an amazing trip led by our guide Ako. He was incredibly knowledgable and brought Georgian history alive! He was punctual and a safe driver. Nothing was too much effort and he was very flexible with the tour itinerary. Ako really cares about his clients and he gave us an unique tour - by introducing us to Georgians we found out much out about the country and culture. I really recommend this tour - make sure you ask for Ako, as you won't get anyone better!Written 23 August 2024

Our private tour with George was amazing!! He arrived early to our hotel with a car seat for our 2 year old and bottled water. He was so warm and welcoming, especially to our two children. He sang songs to them and even played cocomelon through the car Bluetooth to help them pass the time in the car. He was flexible with the schedule and vary accommodating to a family with kids. He was knowledgeable about the sites and his English was excellent! The views were breathtaking and the private tour made it so we could stay as long as we wanted or alter the itinerary as needed. We highly recommend this tour and will be recommending this tour to all our friends!!

Amazing experience with George! Very positive, welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable tour guide who will offer you an unforgettable experience during the tour and many good suggestions beyond that. George was very helpful, attentive and his photography skills are above any expectations.
I would highly recommend to go for the private tour as you have more flexibility and more places can be visited during the tour.
The places we’ve been to (Ananuri, Zhinvali, Gudauri, Kazbegi /larsi border and gveleti waterfall) are a must see if you want to see and feel the true colors of Georgia. So picturesque, impressive, beautiful and breathtaking, definitely a day to remember and will absolutely plan for a winter vacation too.

Splendid! It was an amzing trip overall. Karlo helped us in planning our entire trip at a great rate and even gave us hotel references and also customised itinerary. He is really passionate , he also spent a good time on phone even before we confirmed to go with him. Our tour guide, Makho, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He showed us around with enthusiasm and had great stories to tell. He adjusted our plan according to our needs and helped us find great vegetarian food according to our requirements. He not only showed us the attractions and monuments, but also came along with us to translate and explain in detail. He patiently waited for us at many destinations and all in all, made the entire experience quite memorable and fun.

Our first time to Georgia and we toured with Karlo for 3 full days. He was excellent. Flexible to changing the itinerary around the suit our needs and keep the trip interesting for both adults and teens. He is punctual , accomodating and responds quickly to queries before the trip and during as well. He will provide you with relevant information and advise you on the right places to change money, shop etc.
He is an awesome photographer and knows the best scenic points to get great picture memories. We will surely use his services again on our next trip too.

We were on a weekend trip to Georgia and all our plans were going down the drain because the rental company screwed us and didn't honor our booking, we were left without a car and without any tours booked, I booked Carlo at 3:00 am in the morning thinking that it will never happen on such a short notice, to my surprise I had Carlo messaging me at 6:00 am confirming our pick up time from the hotel @ 9:30 am and they didn't disappoint our tour Guide George was waiting for us on time infront of the hotel. The day was amazing and very productive we covered all the stops we were intending to visit. George was the perfect companion very flexible and cooperative his english is very clear and he is such a nice guys and will help as much as he could.
I definitely recommend using the guys, I ended up hiring George for the next day as well.

I highly recommend using Karlo as your guide for a day tour to Stepantsminda. He speaks English very well, he’s funny and smart. He is also very informative on Georgian culture, history, food and politics. And he takes good photos!
I was traveling by myself. He answered all of my questions, not just about Georgian culture and history, but about politics both locally and in the region (I like to ask about local attitudes regarding world affairs). He also has an interesting background himself and he lived outside of Georgia for a few years.
He was ok with me skipping some sights that I cared less about (we also had some rain/hail, which changed some plans). For lunch he suggested some local Georgian dishes, and with his winemaking background he also had suggestions on Georgian-style wines. I live in Oregon (USA), and we have a huge wine region. So it was interesting to hear about Georgian winemaking from him.
Good tour guides can tell what their clients want, and he quickly picked up on what I was and wasn’t interested in seeing and talking. He was great!

We had an amazing day with our guide, Mr. Givi (who was more like a friend than a guide) to Gudauri, Kazbegi. Trip was very punctual, but allowing us ample and enough time at each place, stops at our wish. The extra time at any place or unplanned stops en-route to manage our 9 months old child was very well accommodated by Givi. He was so friendly and interactive keeping not only me n my wife but my child as well entertained. I had gone through the reviews of this tour service before booking, but I would recommend anyone without a doubt hereafter. Quality and satisfaction guaranteed.

I did a 5 day tour with 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤 covering Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kazbegi, Juta and a few other places. 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤 was very responsive right from the stat when I got in touch with him. I told him that I liked outdoors and hiking so he tailored my tour accordingly. He was very flexible through the trip with timing and changes to the itinerary to avoid crowds. One thing that particularly stood out was his knowledge about the history of Georgia and it’s monuments. He also seems to be well liked by all the local businesses and people at varios locations - evident by the reception he got. He’s a good and safe driver and a pretty chilled out person to have around. He always showed up on time and not once did he keep me waiting. For those who like to get pictures, fret not.. he’s an excellent photographer and knows all the good spots. I would definitely recommend 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤 to anyone who’s planning a trip to Georgia and will do my next trip with him too!

I’ve taken many guided tours in various parts of Georgia and our trip with Karlo will definitely be a memorable one. Karlo was punctual, welcoming, and had a well-equipped car. He is fluent in English and took the time to explain the history behind many buildings we saw on our journey. He’s also very funny and a great photographer.

Karlo was fantastic. At first we had booked as a couple, but we’d made a friend in a different trekking group and she was also interested in the same experience so we added her to the group. He was completely flexible about it and the price to add her was more than fair.
Karlo taught us so much about the places we saw and Georgian history and culture but not in a boring way. He’s very engaging and conversational. Sometimes a private tour can be a bit awkward but he made us feel comfortable immediately.
It was a great day seeing one of the most spectator places in Georgia with a wonderful guide.
Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money to drive in a comfortable vehicle, with a safe and capable driver and see the region at your own pace.
(Also double thank you to karlo for being so great)
