I rented a hanbok from Hanboknam Changdeokgung branch on Tuesday 31 Oct. The store had a good selection and the young woman assigned to assist me was very helpful and kind. The manager of the store however was something else. When I came back to the store, I opened my locker and went to change up. When I came out a few minutes later, my locker was locked and the key on my locker door was gone. So I told the manager that one of her customers must have taken the key and used the locker. She didn’t bother to listen to me and talked over me and insisted I pay for the “lost” key. I tried again to explain to her that I did not lose the key as I had opened it to get my clothes out but to no avail. One of her staff tried to explain to her but she told her off and then a Korean customer tried to help me by explaining to the manager. She retorted “How do I know the customer would return to open the locker?”. I gave up and paid her 10,000 KRW as she refused to give me back my ID unless I pay her. It was a very bad experience. She is not fit to be a manager as she treats her customers with not just disrespect but disdain.

Loved dressing up in Hanboks. The staff were friendly and spoke some English, there was a wide selection of beautiful Hanboks to choose from and the whole getting ready and return process was easy! Definitely recommend!

This was the hanbok place that was included in the Discover Seoul Pass, where you can get to enjoy the experience for free for 1.5h. Reached early on a Sat morning and was lucky there was not much of a crowd. You get to pick out 2 hanboks to try on and I had fun mixing and matching the jacket and the long dress. There were a lot of choices for females, but not so much for males. The experience also include a free hairstyle (top up of 1000-3000 won needed for hair accessories/more elaborate hairstyles). I also rented a handbag for 2000 won to complete the look. As I didn't think that 1.5h is sufficient, I also topped up 10,000 won for 1 more hour of rental. Enjoyed my experience at Hanboknam and strongly recommend it! However I would suggest to head there earlier as it got super crowded at around noon - afternoon period, when I returned the hanbok. Hence service might be lacking and wait times will be longer (for dressing rooms and staff to tie your hair).

So much fun dressing up and getting pictures around the palace. The costume pieces were beautiful and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I came early but even the nicest outfits and accessories were too worn out . Hairdo was just ok because the person was in a rush and didn’t tie hairs securely.

Shop is easy to find. Sizesand Colour sets are limited. We arrived 9am and the choices of hanbok styles are limited.

Variety choice of Hanbok with many size. You can try up to 2 set of Hanbok but only choose one. Come with makeup and hairdo but if you want to added handbag or other accesories, you have to pay. But the addon price is cheap. Great experience where you can walk around to nearest palace or Insa-dong while wearing the Hanbok.

Shop was crowded at 1pm when we arrived, would recommend to come earlier to avoid the crowd. Staff were still efficient and pleasant, and they offer free hairstyling (and inner skirts, and a traditional hairband, depending on your package). Personally think the traditional hanboks are prettier but selection for both traditional and modern hanboks are wide. Location of the shop is about 10-15 minutes walk from both the Anguk station and the Gyeongbokgung Palace.

It's a fun 2.5 hrs of wearing traditional hanbok . Do try out the traditional ones as many people are wearing the fusion ones .

A lot of choices for hanbok that you can pick , but be sure to go there earlier (open at 9.30) so you can pick cloth that fits on you.

Okay guys, I get it that you may be busy and swarmed. But something is really wrong if both of your stores are operated by staff who do not practise simple courtesy to all their customers.

The hanboknam are very easy and confortable to wear. It was a really nice experience. The personal speaks very well the English.

Hanboknam is outside of the palace. You need to walk around 10 minutes to this place. Their hanbok are beautiful but you need to get here early around 10 am or you will run out of options.
