What's great about this class is it's perfect for both travelers and residents, like me, who want to learn how to cook a Korean meal while connecting with others. The Grandma was very sweet. She walked us through each step, and even showed us her special techniques she learned from years of cooking. Although the ingredients are simple, the recipe takes time, which allowed for friendly conversation. I was surprised because we not only learned how to make noodles, but dumplings and fresh kimchi as well. Make sure to come hungry! I definitely plan to do this again with friends and family who are either living in Seoul or just visiting.

The cooking class was amazing, I thought to myself before going, what could I possibly learn from this experience? It was so familiar yet distinct. I was able to connect with the Korean food in a different way. The grandma bringing stories from her past and meeting people for the first time enriched my experience. That experience could have been just a casual cooking class. But “I felt soul in Seoul” so to say. So some good things to say about the cooking class was that the crew was friendly and there was alot of food, it felt like a full course meal. But because I’m familiar with the food and I know there are different kinds of versions that use chicken or shellfish. Honestly, I prefer the ones with meat. The flavors are a bit deeper. Not to say the food didn’t taste good. I just like it that way. The step by step guided instructions were easy to follow. I think having the extra side dishes helped make the meal more abundant. Except I would have liked to try and make it for myself if that’s not too much. Overall great job putting a cooking class together for foreigners. I’d like to try a sashimi class next time since the grandma said she could teach is how to fillet fish. I would highly recommend this tour for those wanting to get the true insights to all things Korean. The food, the history, the culture, this tour helps you live the experience. We ate the food, we wore hanbok, we celebrated with games. I went by myself, a single woman. I felt safe and I felt that the tour company took care of everything. I took this tour in October 2022. I am still in touch on a weekly basis with the friends I made, and this is my ongoing treasure from that trip, along with the memories of our time in South Korea.

This is the 3rd Airbnb experience I've booked with Jae and as usual it was a beyond stellar experience! Jae and our beautifully lovely Grandma greeted us with warm tea and even warmer hugs! Learning the history of handcut noodles was fun and fascinating as Grandma shared her very own family recipe with us. With her expert touch and guidance we were able to create a fantastic meal and even more importantly a wonderful life long memory! This is definitely a MUST DO activity when in Seoul!

The Goodmate team truly made this the best trip of my life. From the moment I arrived in Seoul, I felt taken care of and safe. Our wonderful leader Jae even picked me up at the bus stop since I was the last to arrive. Every single day was fun, packed with unique activities and workshops. The perfume making workshop and spectacular theatre performance/ dinner in Jeju were some highlights. Although most of us came solo, we bonded very naturally and had oppournities each day to mingle and deepen friendships over meals and exploring. I have dietary restrictions and Jae, Minje, and Max were super attentive and made sure to find me good alternatives, which I was so thankful for! They also helped us practice speaking Korean, which was one of my goals! I was worried I would have to take photos alone but it was quite the opposite. Minje, our wonderful photo/videographer, came on adventures with us and beautifully captured our memories. Many of us even extended our trip longer since we didn't want to leave each other. Also, a big shout out to Minje for helping me track down all of my missing items throughout the duration of the trip. Our leader Max is funny, warm, and helped facilitate great group harmony along with Jae and Minje. We also had an amazing tour guide Angella who led us through Jeju. She was so informative and lovely that we still keep in touch with her! If you are on the fence, I can't recommend trusting the Goodmate team enough. They provided us with an unforgettable experience to make genuine connections with each other and local Korean people. I can't wait to join another trip soon! Love you guys, Caroline :)

This was my second time joining a tour with goodmate travel. I had a great time the first time but this second time blew me away. The tour guides went above and beyond and really made us feel like a big family. The places we went to and accommodations we were given were thoughtfully selected, this whole tour felt like a premium experience. Jeju is a beautiful island and I felt that I got to see places I would of never thought of. The whole experience was truly wonderful and couldn’t say enough good things about goodmates, I recommend them to anyone I can, and wholeheartedly believe that anyone that selects using this company would have a great experience. This was THE BEST tour I have EVER been blessed to participate in. This was a 1st for my daughter, cousin, and I. Everything was WELL ORGANIZED, the hosts were professional, friendly, and very attentive to our needs, especially mine since I have some mobility challenges. They were more than happy to help and I'm forever grateful. The accommodations, locales, and experiences were carefully curated and were perfect. I can't speak highly enough about Goodmate Travel (GMT) everywhere I go. Not ony that, we gained a family among our travel group that we still are in contact with today. Lots of food, fellowship, and fun!!! We are definitely coming back and hoping ro bring more people with us. Everyone must experience GMT at least once in their lives.

This was such a great evening experiencing the different tatstes and flavours of differe t regions of Korea through a delicious home cooked meal provided by Yuwon! Thorough enjoyed my evening and recomend for anyone who is solo and new to South Korea and wanting to try different foods.

I first heard of Korea by my dad who was in the U.S. Army and went to Korea during the war. Fast forward to 2010 while still living in NY they showed KDrama on a public channel. I tried to watch as much as I could and was intrigued by the culture and the food. I always wanted to experience it firsthand and feel blessed to have finally been able to do so, soooo many years later. The experience was surreal. All of the places we visited and the food were exceptional. Our hosts, Jimin, Minje and Alo felt like family. As if we’ve known each other for years. There was never a moment where we were not being taken care of. I highly recommend this tour. I will definitely book something, hopefully Jeju, with them in the future.

The crew was so friendly and helpful thru all the trip 😊, they accommodate us with the best hotels views and my favorite the hanok house experience. I had the best group to travel with and we all had good experience. Jae and his team planned the trip so well that I got to experience a lot of stuff I already wanted to do!. I loved the experience on the Gwangjang Market, Jae knows the best spots and the food was so delicious! I have tried several tteobokkis but the one Jae took us at the market, was the best I have ever tried so far. All the food was well balanced in saltines, sweetness, savory, spiciness and umami flavors. Loved every single dish I tried. Our tour guides in Busan and Jeon-ju were such a great story tellers and they interact with each and one of us, our tour guide lady in Busan even knew I do speak a bit of Korean and Japanese. We talked a bit and I was really impressed by her and how easy was talking to her and she is so interesting to talk too. Overall, I loved every single one of the experiences. I felt like I was in a family trip and not in a tour, we tried different classical Korean snacks, drinks and sweets and shared with everyone. I felt like Korea was my second home 🥹, I’m definitely going back either with them or solo. Jae, Jimin, Minjae and even Alo made me feel so welcome and I surely miss my second family. I recommend this tour 100%! If someone wants to experience Korea with some new and traditional areas, then this is your tour!.

This delightful day trip away from the hustle and bustle of Seoul blew me away. It is a well thought out itinerary that gives you time to slow down, experience some truly authentic and delicious Korean food, view spectacular sights that you would never know were so close by, all while meeting new and interesting people. Jecheon was really a delight and an opportunity to discover a not-so-well-known area of South Korea. The day was very well-organized and we were able to witness the local life, try delicious food, and meet lovely people. I don't think Jecheon is in any international guidebooks for South Korea so it felt extra special to be able to experience this change in scenery... And all of that only a little over one hour outside of Seoul. The activities that were prepared were also very thoughtful. This is a great day trip and a great opportunity to discover another side of South Korea.
