          Really exceeded my expectations
At the last moment, we decided to book a tour to Cairo by plane from Hurghada. Having come across an excellent offer on the Internet by this agency, we immediately booked this excursion. We did not expect to receive such a service. People, we did not hope that this day will be one of the most beautiful in our lives. A private guide, who keeps Egyptian history at his fingertips and knows the best local places, showed us what the spirit of Cairo really is. If you are looking for a reliable agency, I can't imagine better. They exceeded all our expectations, had understanding and patience for us. On this occasion, I would like to thank the guide Saurat (Sasha) and the driver Walid for everything and to say that it is safe to travel to Egypt and see all the charms that this country offers. 100% recommended!!!!

Cairo in the palm of your hand
This tour is a fantastic experience. After an hour of flight from Hurghada at the airport in Cairo we were met by our guide Tharwat Abdul Monem. This wonderful man introduced us to Cairo in the most beautiful way possible. We enjoyed while he took us on a tour of museums, pyramids, holy places, ... In a wonderful way, he introduced us to the history and current way of life of the people who live here. We felt welcome, safe and inspired during the whole excursion. We are especially grateful to the organizer of the excursion Mohammed Thanks and see you again soon

          Unseen Cairo
We wanted to see unusual Cairo (+ pyramids of Giza) and Mr. Mohamed did his best: we saw pyramids of Giza, were rided camels, did perfect photos, later passed through renovated Tahrir Square and Talat Harb Square with it's European style buildings, walked in Khan el Khalili bazar and islamic Cairo. Also it was so interesting to see Dead city (where people live in cemetery) and Simon Kharaz Church in Mokattam mountain, which is located in Garbage city. Thank you so much - it was amazing experience, exactly what we wanted!

We spent a beautiful day in Cairo with our guide Mohamed, who was punctual and kind. It's a joke and he told us a lot about Cairo. I recommend a trip by plane to Cairo. Recommend Egyptio.com

Great crew and value for money. Swimming with the dolphins....you need to be a fast swimmer, but that said we saw them and had a great day. A nice mixed group on board.

Absolute rip-off; uncomfortable van journey and rushes from the main paid for sightseeing
Morning Journey: We were picked up from our hotel in a little local van which had seen better days (max 12-14 people) but thought it’s only the local pick-up... how wrong we were. The drivers did not speak more than. Couple words of English and basically ignored us from the start, we picked up two more groups (both German) so was a quiet journey. We soon realised that we weren’t being driven to a air-conditioned coach as expected for the main journey - but were doing the 6 hour ride in this tiny old mini-van which was cramped and uncomfortable. We stopped once for a rest on route - the drivers just parked up and opened the door, didn’t speak to us or tell us how long we were stopping for or anything and just walked off. Worst road trip I’ve ever had.. Itinerary: The day wasn’t as advertised at all, we were taken straight to the Egyptian museum and then met with a tour guide - a German tour guide. We joined an other mini-van full of Germans and were taken around the museum for 30mins. Mostly we were listening to German with brief English paraphrasing thrown in for just us (only 2 English in group of 14), we were very disappointed. We then had 30 mins free time - that is not enough for this huge museum! We were rushed out so that we could take part in a additional charge activity- a nice cruise. We tried to decline as were not interested but were pressured into going along @ 200 LE each (£20 for both). It was a short boat ride seeing some buildings along the Nile and hearing both German and Italian tour guides speaking to groups. On this trip there were 2 other English with their own tour guide and we were moved to them to save our tour guide keep repeating himself. I would have preferred more time in the museum to explore. We then went to lunch in a restaurant in Giza (not the Nile as advertised) which was fine. Then we went to the Pyramids! Finally the main point of our visit to Egypt! When we arrived we were taken straight to the far point which we had been told would give us an amazing view of all three pyramids and the Sphinx in one photo. Turns out his amazing photo is only available if you pay extra (again) and go on a canal or horse cart - the way these animals looked/ were treated was a huge red flag and we refused - that’s a whole other story. Because we didn’t want the rides were wee given 30 mins free time. Considering the size of the site this only got us two one and took some photos. We were then driven back down the the largest so we could climb the steps and get some photos (15mins) and then taken to the small free entry pyramid for a quick look inside (15 mins), then it was back to the mini-van for a drive to the Sphinx - we got out the van at the roadside and took photos (5mins) and then were hustled off again. The main attraction and were weren’t there much more that 70 mins. We were being taken to an extra destination- an old family cafe for drinks/ toilet etc (extra charges again - getting the picture) but his time the whole group had had enough and said no thanks - we would like to leave. So the drivers.... walked off! Yep they went in anyway and left us in the van for 30 mins without talking to us or explaining anything - again. Return journey: Then it was the looong and rickety journey home - the vans door was having issues and was making god awful screeching noises which meant no one could sleep or relax, and we had to keep stopping for them to hit it with a rock and slam it shut again and again. We stopped for a toilet break after 4 hours driving at a cafe and again the drivers just left us and didn’t say what they were doing/ how long we’d be here... Tour guide: Was friendly enough but we felt like an unwanted extra to the German party - several times he would give instructions and details to the party in German and then start walking off so I had to ask - what did you say? Then would get a couple of words - oh we are going there.. not what he had been saying to the rest in more details. Do not recommend! We also did a day trip (Luxor) via the Thomson rep and that was 100% better value and more comfortable - The guide was also giving us tips and pointers and ensuring we had toilet and drink breaks and kept us fully in the loop... Very disappointed as this was our main reason for choosing Egypt and we didn’t get to stay at the sights we paid for as they wanted to take us to other places and pay more.

          Fabulous
The ship's crew were fun and entertaining. Spotted ltd of dolphins swimming and jumping in the sea. Got a chance to swim with them too. The only down side was the other boats making lots of noise and chasing the dolphins which I thought was cruel.

          An amazing day
A very long day (3am pick up - 11:30pm return) but absolutely worth it. 6 hour drive to Cairo on an air conditioned coach with a stop. Taking in the museum, boat trip on the Nile, papyrus works, lunch, pyramids and sphinx and perfumery all with an excellent, very knowledgeable guide. I won't go into a massive long review, will just say it was the best day of our holiday. Worth every penny, don't even think about it, just book it.

Picked up from our hotel at 4am and were the first to be picked up and then the coach collected the rest of the passengers from other hotels to make the coach full, it took over 2 hours to get all passengers before it could set off to Luxor. It was a very tiring long journey!

At Luxor, we started off by visiting the Karnak Temple and our guide was us rushing us to visit other locations within the temple without giving us enough time to soak in the sights or take photos. Then we're taken to a Papyrus shop with the aim of purchasing their goods, but no one bought anything. After the crossing the Nile river, to have our lunch at their partner Crocodile restaurant where nearly everyone hated the poor quality good. For the afternoon part of the programme, we're taken to an Alabaster souvenir shop.

Later on, we're taken to Hatshepsut temple, the quide was again rushing us and then finally to the Valley of the Kings, where we visited tombs of the three Ramses, can't remember their titles, again we we're allowed about 10 minutes each on each tomb. The last sight was, Colossi of Memnon, the least impressive.

The guide was advertising for Banana Island as the optional last trip, which was not part of the package and nearly everyone fell for the trick and paid £10 pp and those we're not interested had to stay behind. We also paid. It was one of the worst trip and the price did not justify the poor experience. It was a just banana farm with a caged small crocodile that a keeper tries to entertain the visitors by tapping it with a stick and the reptile hissing. On the way back, we hired a Taxi, once we’re in Hurghada rather than having the coach drop us off, which would have taken another over an hour! Don’t pay more than £40 per person for this kind of trip with this package, though Banana Island is extra on top of this, honestly it’s not worth it.

We did the day trip to Luxor during our stay in Hurghada (23rd November to 30th November) with Egyptio Tours. It was a very long trip but it was well worth the travel. The mini bus that we travelled in was clean and tidy but it got uncomfortable after all that time on board even though we had a stop for about 20 minutes which converted to 35 minutes Egyptian time! The trip is advertised as a 3 hour trip. However, it took 4 hours 15 mins to get there and just over 5 hours for the return trip! The guide spoke really good English and was excellent as he took the time to explain things throughout the trip. The buffet lunch was ok and was included in the price so you just paid for your drinks at the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and the toilet facilities were good. We both really enjoyed the trip and felt that it was good value for the money. However, there are just a few points to note before you book the trip. Firstly, if you do the Nile trip it will cost you an extra 200EGP each (about £10). Secondly, the admission to the Valley of the Kings only covers you to enter 3 tombs. If you want to enter more than 3 you will need to buy extra site entrance tickets at 160EGP per person (about £8). Thirdly, if you want to take pictures inside the tombs you will need to purchase a photography licence which will set you back 300EGP per camera (about £15). Unfortunately, this also only covers you for 3 tombs. So if you want to enter the other tombs and take pictures inside them, then you will you need to purchase extra entrance tickets and also need to purchase an extra photographic licence! Fourthly, if you want to go into the Tutankhamun tomb you will need to pay an extra 200EGP per person (about £10). You are not allowed to take any pictures at all inside the Tutankhamun tomb! Finally, there are a couple of stops on this trip which are basically just shops! The first one is a shop trying to sell you drawings made on parchment and the second is a stone ware shop trying to sell you stone vases and ornaments etc. It’s a real pity that they do this as it eats into the extra time that you could spend at the various sites. Overall it was a really good experience and was great value for the money. It was just a pity that so much valuable time is wasted during those unnecessary stops to try and get you to buy unwanted things!

I have to say our day trip to Luxor was amazing. Our driver, Machmood (sorry if spelt incorrectly) was great, very informative on the drive which was a few hrs long. We also have to say a big thanks to our guide Wael whos knowledge on Egyptology was amazing. We started at Karnack Temple, then boat ride on Nile, this was extra but we were informed of this upfront and its something we are unlikley to do again. Then we had lunch, followed by tour of Valley of the Kings. It truly is an amazing place to visit. It does get extremely hot which can be overwhelming so make sure you have plenty of sunscreen and water. There are lots of people trying to sell stuff and its best to keep your eyes down and move on quickly if you do not intend to buy anyghing, this may seem rude but we were advised to do this or we would be inundated with sellers. Thanks again to Wael and Machmood for making our day so wonderful.

I was a bit leery booking a 15-hour tour that included a four-hour drive both to and from the destination, but I figured why not? We traveled all the way to Hurghada, and would likely never return, so why not see all that there is to see?

The sites themselves were worth the long commute. The Karnak Temple is absolutely amazing and is worth the trip alone. The Valley of the Kings is also incredibly impressive and well worth seeing. The other stops along the way (the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon) were less impressive, but worth a short photo opportunity.

Our tour guide, Mohammed, was very informative and friendly, and the bus -- while a bit rickety -- was comfortable enough. What really irritated me about this tour were all the unannounced side trips. First, there was an unexpected stop at a papyrus shop. Then, there was a slow journey down the Nile river (which cost $22 for the two of us.) Finally, there was yet another unannounced visit to an alabaster shop.

Each of these visits added thirty minutes to our journey. Instead of returning at 8:00pm as expected, we didn't arrive back at our hotel until after 10:00pm -- after all of the restaurants at our resort had closed for the evening. The eight-hour round trip was difficult enough. Adding extra stops for no other reason than to shake us down for extra money left a bad taste in our mouths. Not only were those stops unnecessary, but the vendors at each of the stops refused to take "no" for an answer, and relentlessly hounded us until we left the building.

Another nuisance was the pickup/dropoff process. Instead of having a car pick up each customer at each hotel and then drive the customers to the bus, the entire bus stopped at each hotel to pick up and drop off each customer. This extended the time on the bus even further.

If we could have simply toured the sites listed in the tour's description, this tour would have been a much more pleasurable experience.

Dear Mr Mike, Thank you for taking your time to review our Tour to Luxor from Hurghada. We are so glad you enjoyed the sights in Luxor as it is truly magnificent city. You booked group tour and the pick-up is always done like that by every operator and the price is appropriate to this service. Also, the shop visit is unique oportunity to buy some authentic alabaster products that other passengers of the group were interested in. Other tours in Luxor are optional and you are not obligated to participate. You should have booked private tour to Luxor then, where we do pick up the clients by car and whole tour is tailor made for the client. We hope to see you in Egypt again. Best regards Mohammed Ibrahim

We booked tour package that included Cairo and Luxor and also Quad safari in the desert. In Cairo we had a great guide, very friendly Mohammed. Pyramids are so much bigger than you can ever imagine. I can not believe we actually were there. It is better to visit early to avoid people. You will need to leave your camera outside of the pyramid as it is forbidden to bring one inside. We also visited the Egyptian Museum which is one of the best museums I have ever seen. For relaxation, there was a short Nile cruise and a lunch overlooking the pyramids. Luxor is about 3 hours ride from Hurghada and tour starts early in the morning to avoid heat. We visited Karnak which is very big and consists of many temples. During our Luxor tour we also visited Valley of the kings with 3 tombs included and Tuthankamun tomb which costed extra 100 egyptian pounds, Hatshepsut temple and Memnon statues. The quad safari was something different to do but surely very enjoyable. I recommend to take glasses and scarfs to this tour. Everything was very well organized. I would surely recommend. Thank you for wonderful days!
