Small Group Home Cooked Cairo Tour Including Traditional Meal with a Local Family
From US$40.00
Sit down for a rare home-cooked meal while traveling in Cairo. During this 4-hour experience, you'll get to visit a local family and learn about Middle Eastern traditions, Egyptian culture, and tasty food. This small-group tour is limited to 12 people or fewer and includes pickup and drop-off at your Cairo hotel.
What to Expect
Begin your 4-hour Egyptian culinary experience with convenient pickup at your Cairo hotel. Your small group of fellow travelers is limited to 12 people or fewer to retain an intimate atmosphere and allow for plenty of interaction with your guide and host family. Travel to a local family's home in Cairo, where you'll get a chance to chat with the women of the house as they prepare the meal. Learn about the setup of a typical local kitchen and check out the ingredients used in most Egyptian cuisine.

Sit down for a hearty meal, including dishes such as Egyptian rice with vermicelli, mossaqa, lentil soup, molokhia, fattah, stuffed vegetables, and kushari. After your stomach is full, sit back and chat with the family over dessert and an Egyptian drink, such as mint tea or Egyptian coffee. If you're feeling brave, challenge one of your hosts to a game of Backgammon, a favorite local pastime.

After your 4-hour experience, you'll be dropped back at your Cairo hotel.

Wonderful home cooked meal

What a wonderful way to end our incredible tour of Egypt. Rere’s hospitality was warm and her food delicious. It was so special to be invited into her home, to meet her family and enjoy an insight into Cairo life. Highly recommended.
