This was a great trip. We tried to book with a "well known" river cruise company for this itinerary but they were sold out for the dates we wanted. So we asked Around Egypt Tours for the same itinerary, including the same ship, the MS Farah, along with two full days to tour Cairo, and Abu Simbel at the end. They came up with the exact itinerary we wanted, with our dedicated Egyptologist (Mo in Cairo, and Islam along the Nile and Abu Simbel). They also provided a professional driver with a nice air conditioned van or car for each day. Of note, the weather was perfect, high 70s F and low 80s F for our trip. Interestingly, the "well known" river cruise company group of approximately 16 people were on the ship, doing exactly what we were doing, but the two of us had one Egyptologist guiding us through each of the wonderful sites with our own private driver, where their ratio was 16 to 1. The MS Farah was a terrific ship, with nice furnishings, carpets in great shape, wonderful food and staff. We would highly recommend. Also, we had flexibility with each day. In Cairo, Mo noticed that the lunch menu for the second day was the same as the first day, so he changed our restaurant to Abou Tarek's Koshary, a famous restaurant in Cairo that started the Koshary trend many years ago. I found out later in the day that it was featured in my Moon travel guide, but he had recommended and assured us that we would enjoy it, which we did. Probably our favorite meal in Egypt. At the end of the Luxor to Aswan cruise, we had a tour of Aswan, and we wanted to see two things not on the schedule, the unfinished obelisk and the Old Cataract Hotel. Islam called the office and arranged for both stops to be added to our day for a very reasonable fee (to cover tickets and the drinks at the bar). This was all handled within a few minutes as we were driving around Aswan on our tour. Around Egypt Tours is first class. They handled everything. They had a representative inside the Cairo airport (Mohamed) to help us through customs, get us to the van, assisted us back through security prior to our flight to Luxor, another representative in the Aswan airport, and then to get us back to our hotel from the Cairo airport after our domestic return flight from Aswan. We would highly recommend using Around Egypt Tours. We received great value and they handled everything. Thanks to Mohamed, Ahmed, Islam, Mo and Essam, and anyone who I might have forgotten. I toured Egypt with a group of 43 adults and had a fabulous time. Our AET tour guides were much more than just "guides". They were Egyptologist who were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Egypt today and Egyptian history. They started the tour as professionally friendly and answered all of our questions with ease. By time we parted after 15 days together, they became our extended family. This tour hit all the buttons: it was educational, inspirational and fun!

First - we were a group of 43 adults that traveled together throughout Egypt. Even though the media was focused on telling people to avoid traveling any where in the Middle East and Egypt due to the conflict in Israel and Gaza, i was determined to go. It was reassuring to arrive in Cairo to see no issues. There were no signs of distress or conflict anywhere in the country. I felt very safe throughout our travels in Egypt. Before leaving the United States, Around Egypt Tours shared with me that there were no issues or harmful situations in Egypt, based on a group they were supporting several days before we arrived. We arrived in Cairo on October 16 and finished our tour in Cairo on October 28th. Our tour included 2 nights in Cairo, 3 nights in Aswan, a Nile cruise for 3 nights, 3 nights at a Red Sea Resort in Hurghada and 2 nights back in Cairo. Our tour covered upper and lower Egypt. We did not see or hear of any issues related to the Hamas and Israel conflict while in Egypt Around Egypt Tours delivered everything agreed with excellence! Everyone in our group loved their support and their focus on the important details. We had two egyptologists to support our large group. This allowed us to learn about the history of Egypt in a depth way. We ate well and our accommodations were as described in our package or better. The transportation services - buses, boat rides, carriage rides - provided were spacious and clean. Security was provided throughout our entire time in Egypt. Security was visible but never needed, because there was never any disruptive or interfering activity. Egypt is a wonderful country with wonderful people that welcomed and allowed us to enjoy seeing and learning about the important Egyptian history. I looked forward to using Around Egypt Tours whenever I want to do a tour of Egypt, again. They are trust worthy and they deliver an excellent tour program.

My adventure in Egypt was like walking into the pages of a history book with each destination like a chapter that was filled with visual ques that reflected the majestic sights et sounds of not only the places we toured but also the people we met along the way. Seeing Egypt with Ahmed as our guide was the trip of a lifetime!! Ahmed was very knowledgeable about Egypt, but what struck me was his passion for it. You could feel the pride he took in sharing the fascinating history of his country. We spent 9 days traveling from Cairo to Aswan, a Nile cruise and a resort in Hurghada. When we started looking for a tour company for our trip to Egypt, we sent inquiries to probably a dozen of travel companies. Mr. Ahmed Gawish provided us with a plan including all the places on our bucket list, which we thought was quite impressive, having a custom tour planned quickly. It didn’t end there. We went back and forth adding more places for sightseeing and making changes to the itinerary for quite some time. With every iteration, we got the same turnaround time, suggestions, and courtesy along the way. He also included plenty of hotel upgrades without changing the quoted price. Mr. Ahmed kept in touch all along up until we were ready to start our adventure. Once in Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Hussein met us before immigration, took care of all the immigration paperwork and made sure we comfortably get to the hotel. On our departure day, he took care of getting the bags scanned, checked us in at the airline counter and accompanied us all the way until we were ready to go through immigration. He told us everything we should expect after he left to avoid surprises. We were greeted with a smile at our hotel in Cairo upon arrival by Mr. Ahmed Badawi, who went over our itinerary and answered all our questions with great patience. Midway in our tour, we decided to take a Nile dinner cruise on the last day. He worked diligently in providing us with a couple of quotes, personally met us before boarding the cruise and made sure we got the best seats, right in front of the stage, to see performances. He also exchanged our currency at a much better rate than the market rate on the first day and that, too, in various denominations. If you are reading this, please make sure you ask about the currency exchange prior to traveling to Egypt. Also, you will need different denominations depending on who you are paying and for what. Tipping is a big part of tourism in Egypt, so make sure you keep all denominations of Egyptian Pound handy. This review cannot end without mentioning the most important person, our guide Mr. Islam. He was with us throughout our 9-day tour and took care of us like nothing we had experienced before. We mentioned to him during a conversation that we want to experience eating various Egyptian food dishes. He asked if we had a list and we provided him with one. Little did we know he planned the lunches for the next several days at places for us to experience the food in somewhat local way. The whole experience and food were amazing. One more thing stood out regarding Around Egypt Tours. There are always optional excursions with any tour. Depending on the schedule for the day, certain optional tours were proposed. But the difference was that it was with no pressure. We ended up going on a couple, mainly to experience the local life, and it turned out to be a good decision. Egypt Tours was an excellent choice! We booked a Nile River Cruise through the company. We requested a specific ship and had a lot of questions. Egypt Tour guided us through the process with professionalism and ease. Once in Egypt, all of the amenities promised were provided from the airport pickup, to the requested ship, private guide, and then drop off at the end of our trip. Of particular note, our private guide, Islam was AMAZING! He was professional and knowledgable and made sure all of our needs were met.
