Great private trip to Luxor! Absolutely worth it.
We had an amazing time visiting Luxor! Mohamed, our driver, did a great job getting us everywhere safely. It is clear that it is not a good idea to drive there yourself. Mustafa, our guide, could answer on all my questions. He had a lot of information to give, which was really nice. Only downside is that the day is too short to take your time everywhere. We were away from our hotel for more than 17 hours and still the strip felt quite fast paced. I do recommend to take the optional sail trip and to visit Luxor temple, in my opinion, they are absolutely worth it! The grave of Toetanchamon was not that necessary for me. I think you can get the idea of the graves well enough with the other three graves you visit. The only thing we didn't do was visiting the albast factory. The while trip was just my partner and I, which made the whole experience a lot more personal.

A perfect 1 day Cairo Trip by plane from Hurghada
I booked a private one-day tour from Hurghada to Cairo, which included all the main attractions such as the Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, the Serapeum, and the new GEM Museum. My guide, Amr Moses, and my driver, Mohamed Ismael, were absolutely 5/5. Their expertise and professionalism were outstanding, and everything went perfectly. I can wholeheartedly recommend Marsa Alam Tours, as well as both Amr and Mohamed ❤️❤️❤️. We had lunch at an excellent restaurant near the Saqqara Pyramid area. Even though I was traveling alone, I felt very safe in their company. Everything ran on schedule, and I could even adjust the itinerary on the go. I particularly appreciated having a private bus with a dedicated driver and a personal guide who was always available to answer my questions.

Full day desert trio in Wadi el Gemal (meet & greet with camels)
Seeing the desert of Wadi el Gemal NP was one of the reasons to go to Marsa Alam for a short holiday. We booked the full day excursion with a private guide and were lucky to get Hamada as our guide. He appeared to be a great driver and a walking Encyclopedia of the area. But he is also a very nice man and good company for the day. We started on the sea side with some snorkeling and saw the mangrove trees. Drank some tea with bedoein friends and had a nice lunch before we headed into the desert. We drove through several valleys, saw the accacia trees, giant rock formations and groups of wild camels and donkeys living in the desert . Having bedoein ancesters, Hamada told uss all about (wild)life in the desert. At the end of the afternoon we drove to a deserted ancient Roman village, marked with a temple in the rocks. There I had a remarkable experience when 2 curious camels came towards me and walked beside me for a while before running away! The day ended with a bbq under a marvellous sky full of stars that make you feel very tiny in the giant universe. After a long drive back to the 'civilisation' we returned to our hotel and said goodbye to our new friend Hamada!

          Not exactly as planned
We had 3 days tour to White Desert, Black Desert and Wadi Hitan, and Fayum oasis. White Desert was the most important part for us, that is why we decide for tour with overnight there. And here was a problem. I understand that Marsa Alam Tours is using subcontractors, and they do not have full visibility, how it is handled there. And subcontractor in White Desert was not the best one (including lack of English skills, and couple of other issues). But the real problem was that they changed totally schedule, started later, and decided to finish 2 days trip for White Desert in one day. Not informing us, just doing that. There was ban for camping in White Desert (which I understand), but they decided to shrink everything to one day... So it was very Instagram tour – take a picture, and go to next place, as we do not have time. Fortunately for us, we asked Marsa Alam Tours for help, and Mr Ahmed escalated it. Thanks to him, we were able to go back to White Desert for sun rise, which was magnificent. However those guys, cut our time for Black Desert and other points, including optional tours. We were considering see Alexander’s Temple, but they did not ask for it, just sent us to next place – Fayum. According to the plan, we should be there for evening, we were in mid day. I do not have anything against Fayum oasis, but it was only additional part for us, it was never the plan. I’m not the target. It is nice place, but I wanted to explore Black and White Deserts. On oasis, Mr Sobhi contacted again Mr Ahmed, and they provided us guide for Wadi Hitan, Mr Ali. Generally, everything after White Desert was very good organized, and Mr Ali was very helpful, and was try to fix bad impressions that we had. And Wadi Hitan meet our expectation, so we had wonderful day. But being totally honest, I can’t recommend this trip, with that subcontractor, that they have. If the trip in that shape, as we finally had, would be two days, so from sunrise on white desert we would head directly to Wadi Hitan, and then I would be very pleased. But with this one day, I’m not (as I have to remove couple of things in Egypt from my list to see).

          Perfect place
We were pretty happy with this tour. There was some minor issues related to timing on the first days. We had some doubts on it, but once Mr Ali, who was our guide in Kom Ombo and Asuan, joined us, everything was fixed. He is not only good guide, but as well good organizer. And he was able to push driver and other guys, so we were able to see everything. And for us, this tour was one of the most important part in this Egypt tour. And we were really very happy, how finally it was handled. Especially that we have some time on Dam, to see it from top of monument (which was not in original plan). I really recommend this tour.

          Excelent trip
We have a one day tour to Alexandria from Cairo. And our guide was Ms Malak. And this was pretty amazing experience. Tour was very well organized, and our guide has astonish knowledge on Alexandria. She was able to show as a lot of interesting places, and she was not pushing on time. We have all the time we need, and we could explore some places, even if that was not on normal schedule. Everything was very excellent, I recommend quality of service. Nothing to complain.

          Amazing and peaceful Siwa days
Siwa tour has been truly one of the best experiences done in Egypt, and I recommend it to all that has a discovering spirit. It’s a real hidden gem, you can have peaceful moments while in Siwa, surrender by the incredible nature. The lake, the fortress, the salty lakes, the hot springs and the desert adventure with 4x4 cars. Everything was just perfect thanks to our amazing guide Khaled! I couldn’t ask for better!

Would highly recommend Marsa Alam Tours
Marsa Alam Tours booked our 7 days in Egypt and 5 in Jordan tour. We did Cairo, 3-day Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, and overnight at Bahariya Oasis. They booked our domestic flights, our flight from Cairo to Amman and hotels. It was a personalized custom tour for our family and it was flawless. From the airport pickup to drop-off, everything was well taken care of. The drivers & guides every day were friendly, informative and helpful. Wael Ewada who booked our package stayed in touch with me throughout the trip to make sure things went well. Their airport rep Wael Aziz helped us with delayed baggage and with my daughter who was coming 2 days later. Would highly recommend them.

Nile cruise and visit great, company tour disaster
No explanation of the tour in details before coming to Egypt Nobody answers on the phone to explain From Hurgada to Luxor transportation disaster, took 6 hours instead of 4, driver did not have document, every border he had to convince police Nile cruise with Kelos was good, we were 26 people in total, empty boat People on board tried to make the possible, they were pushy on tips but it is ok First guide to Luxor was good even if spoke a lot of time on the phone Second girl in Esna and Edfu was really good despite she had difficulties to move so we were quite slow compared to rest, but she was great Third guide in Abu Simbel was very good prepared but expressed, in 15 minutes explained everything than guide are not supposed to enter in temple Last guide in Nubien village, very bad; we payed 40 euros each, but basically was nothing to see; 15-20 euro each is reasonable touristic price for the boat trip Transportation from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back was disaster; super small car with huge person in it, travel for 6 hours with stop 1 hour in Abu Simbel, is not worth. It was already in our package so we decided to go; but really it is a nice location the temple but perhaps better you spend 2-3 hours to relax from 3 hours drive. The car was also full of plastic to cover seats very uncomfortable. Driver no speak English. Next day we had 8 hours trip from Aswan to hurgada. We asked different car, bigger; however we got the same driver! Crazy. We complained but nothing, we had to go back. Driver very unpolite, he stops when he wants for how long he wants. At the end he wants also tip, crazy! I chose this agency because had a bit of competitive price compared to other tours; maybe to save 200-300 euros per person. If I go back I will pay extra money to have a better quality service. With explanation of how long will be driving by car and then perhaps I will negotiate more on the visits to see. But again, nobody answers to phone so difficult to negotiate.

          Overall could be better
Guide we had is of little use. He just left us to figure out things by ourselves. Lunch promised was Nile view but the restaurants we were taken were hopeless and never had Nile view. The program agreed upon didn’t get to the guide and so he was trying to avoid showing the places unless we showed him what was in the program. Our pick up at the hotel was delayed by 45 minutes and we were wondering if we would catch the flight? Lucky we got the flight though. Smoking in the vehicle, talking on the cell phone while driving made us more uncomfortable. We didn’t enjoy a full experience. Hotel though was 4 star- their only feedback on anything was nothing other than NO. No lotion in the room, swimming pool closes at 5pm, concierge ripping you on the taxi rides, internet connection bad. The change of drivers and so we have to tip each driver, 3% additional charge than quoted if we use credit card, not mentioned anywhere. Good part was hotel breakfast and at least we could get a glimpse of the places in the program. Overall could be better!!

          Great tour & guide
We really enjoyed this tour. Ahmed was a great guide who had a lot of knowledge to share while also letting us walk and discover each of the monuments. Additionally the local lunch was amazing. We would definitely recommend doing 2 days instead of 1 if you can, but we got the opportunity to make the most out of this day thanks to the tour !

1 day tour Marsa Alam to Luxor
This was a private tour for myself and two children 16&12 yrs The pick up was an early start from our hotel in Marsa Alam. We had 2 drivers taking turns as it is a long day. They were both excellent and friendly. (Mohamed & Hamza) We met out Tour guide in Luxor. (Kahlil ) He was also really friendly and informative. I can’t believe how much we were able to see in one day but the organisation was seamless. We started on the East bank of the Nile. Then had a short boat ride across the Nile with lovely views (optional extra) . Kahlil organised a restaurant for lunch with stunning views. The food was delicious and authentic local cuisine. We then explored the west side of the Nile. The tour included all the famous sites, temples, valley of the Kings and tombs. We were then driven back to our hotel in Marsa Alam in time for dinner. Definitely recommend this amazing trip giving an insight into the fascinating Egyptian history. I also recommend Egypt Tour Packages & Marsa Alam Tours - Cairo 1 day trip with flights . Again a very long but worthwhile trip

Amazing 10 day Egypt Tour from Hurghada to Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and back
We had an amazing ten days being guided by private guides through the most important modern and ancient sites. Everything was perfectly organized by Wael Ewada from Marsa Alam Tours, who was available for us 24/7 by WhatsApp for all our questions and wishes. We flew from Hurghada to Cairo and spent 4 days there visiting the pyramids, museums, old and new parts of Cairo. Then we flew to Aswan, visiting the dam and the Philae temple. The the cruis to Luxor, where we spent another 4 days visiting the ancient sites. The back to Hurghada for snorkeling and relaxing. The only rather average point was the 3 day Nile river cruise from Aswan to Luxor on one of those big river boats. There is constant noise from the engine or the generator, and the bad smell of Diesel oil and its exhaust. The visits to the sites are either early in the mornig or late evening. We later talked to another couple who chose to do the Nile river cruise on a dahabya boat. They highly recommended that. We paid a 40% deposit and then the rest upon arrival in Cairo. I was rather worried about paying up front, but Wael Ewada reassured me and he made sure that everything we agreed upon was fulfilled. I guess the price we paid was fair for what we got. We were very satisfied by all the guides and drivers he organized for us. It is important to generously tip the guides and drivers to show your appreciation, since they very much depend on it. For a couple between 20 to 30 USD per day for your private guide and between 10 to 15 USD for your private driver.

Think visiting 5000 year old tombs and temples is peering into antiquity? Try 40 million year old whales! Wadi Al-Hitan, 150 miles southwest of Cairo, is a UNESCO heritage site, remnants of the ancient Tethys Sea when Egypt was covered with water and sea cows, crocodiles, and turtles swam. But its greatest claim to fame is the glimpse it provides into the evolution of whales.

Fifty million years ago, whale ancestors walked on land while also hunting in the shallow seas, much like sea otters do today. Over the next 10 million years, archeocetes (ancient whales) evolved a more marine lifestyle. In 2016 the Wadi Al Hitan Fossil and Climate Change Museum opened with excellent exhibits in English and Arabic describing the environmental changes over time in the area and how land-based mammals evolved to return to the sea. But the fossils are not just in display cases. Entire skeletons of Basilosaurus and Dorudon that still retain small hind limbs not seen in modern whales are on display along a walking trail littered with invertebrate fossils and bone bits.

Not all travel agencies visit Wadi Al-Hitan (also known as Zeuglodon Valley or Valley of the Whales). In fact, the first one we contacted told us Wadi Al-Hitan was closed! But Marsa Alam Tours assured us we could go, and they made the trip work for us! Wadi Al-Hitan receives only about 1000 visitors a year. Access is via 4 WD vehicles over a sand blown road. Our driver enjoyed giving us an extra thrill going off road at times to navigate sand dunes and showing off his vehicular acrobatics. On the recommendation of the local border control, we were given a free police escort to the remote site. We never felt in danger, and I cannot help but wonder if the escort was really more of a perk for the police. They certainly seemed to enjoy the trip too!

There are many other things in the Fayoum area to visit, and in retrospect we wished we had stayed over night. I imagine most visitors would spend 30 minutes in the museum (there is also a good film overview in English), then maybe an hour hiking the trails to see fossils, but we spent almost 3 hours. The sand was blowing pretty hard or we would have hiked further. The rock formations and beautiful sand dunes added to the experience. Our guide trained as an archeologist, bt he was knowledgeable about whale evolution and had been to Wadi Al-Hitan many times. I look forward to returning to Egypt and spending more time at this site.
