I did a day trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan as part of my 6 day tour and it was well worth it. My guide Ahmed met me on time at the hotel then we and our two drivers hit the road for a +3 hour drive to Abu Simbel. The car and drivers were fine and Ahmed shared info about a few things we passed on the way but there's not much between the two towns. At Abu Simbel Ahmed gave a thorough introduction to the temples by letting me know what I was going to see inside and what it symbolized. I was able to roam the temples freely but to take pics inside you must pay extra. Ahmed waited for me patiently and did not rush me at all. The temples are magnificent and the story of how it was all moved adds to it. On the way back to Aswan, Ahmed recommended a restaurant that was close to the hotel. Great food great price great day. Thank you Ahmed and thank you Ramses tours.
