About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rkaranam0 contributionsWonderful Luxor Tour with an Exceptional GuideWe recently toured Luxor with our guide, Salwa, and had an amazing experience. Traveling with a toddler can be challenging, but Salwa was incredibly patient and understanding, which made the trip so much more enjoyable for our family. Salwa’s knowledge of Luxor’s history, culture, and heritage was outstanding. She provided us with deep insights into the city’s ancient kingdoms, temples, and daily life in historical Egypt. Her storytelling made the sites like the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple come alive. What stood out the most was Salwa’s calm and accommodating approach. There was no rushing or impatience, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in each location. She ensured we had plenty of time to explore, ask questions, and take in the beauty of Luxor. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Salwa as your guide. It was a perfect blend of learning, exploring, and family-friendly travel.Written 1 December 2024
- DonnaVqld0 contributionsGreat tour companyThis company was great to use, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble . Omar and our daily driver were much fun , great music . On time very informative of Egyptian history. Recommend for sure 👍Written 29 November 2024
- edjco0 contributionsValley of the kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of MemnonWe had an amazing time. Our tour guide Sowsun (sp?), was fantastic and provided us with a lot of information that made the experience as good as it could possibly be.Written 29 November 2024
- 427ajayt0 contributionsGood tour options with kind tour guide and cab driverFortunately, we stumbled upon a great tour agency that offered a wider range of options for exploring around Luxor and Cairo. They conveniently provided online payment options for various packages, eliminating the hassle of dealing with cash. We highly recommend this tour agency for airport and hotel transfers, as it offers a more affordable alternative to expensive hotel transfers. We booked two tours from EMO: a day tour to Aswan from Luxor and a day tour of Luxor’s eastern and western banks. Both tours were led by the same cab driver, Allah, and tour guide, Hamid. Both of them were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about Egyptian customs and practices for tourists. Hamid even took us to a fantastic authentic Egyptian local restaurant where the food and view were simply amazing. We’re planning to book tours from EMO for our visit to Cairo as well. Hamid took us to the Alabaster factory owned by EMO, where we bought a few souvenirs. However, be cautious of the overpriced items and bargain like you would in India.Written 27 November 2024
- heatherann20170 contributionsAn Amazing Experience & the best way to see the sights in EgyptOur tour guide Shereen, was full of knowledge and this made the whole tour very interesting, our experience was an excellent one! All the sights on both the East & West bank gave us a great insight into Egyptian history. Our driver was very attentive and made the experience a very smooth one. Communication prior to the tour was excellent! We were kept well informed and knew exactly where & when to meet. I would strongly recommend this By Emo Tours Egypt!Written 22 November 2024
- Z9562UHmateuszj0 contributionsGreat start, strange endingAt the beginning, everything was great. We visited the Karnak and Luxor Temples, and our guide, Salwa (if I recall correctly), shared many interesting facts, helped us take photos, and gave us plenty of free time to explore on our own. She was very friendly, and this part of the trip was wonderful. However, there were a couple of things we didn’t appreciate. We were taken to an essential oils shop that was not part of our itinerary. The salesperson demonstrated perfumes and emphasized “great prices” but we felt pressured and uncomfortable during this unexpected stop. A particularly awkward moment occurred at the end of our visit to the Karnak Temple. The guide asked if we understood tipping and mentioned that she expected one. This felt a bit forced, and when we offered some Egyptian money, she seemed dissatisfied, asking if we had more. It was an uncomfortable situation. Later, as we approached our hotel, she asked in a peculiar way how much we had paid for our stay, which further reinforced our impression that she was more focused on money than on providing a pleasant experience. This behavior soured an otherwise enjoyable day.Written 19 November 2024
- alexandersX3202SL0 contributionsTransfer and visiting Edfu and Kom OmboThe transfer with Karlos from Luxor to Aswan with visiting of Edfu and Kom Ombo temples was very convenient, quick and safe. Karlos is a great professional, kind and nice and patient man. He takes care about the tourists and respects and fulfil their wishes and needs. - jennypU5377ZX0 contributionsBest tour so far in EgyptGreat Tour! Salwa was an amazing tour guide, a very nice lady with a lot of knowledge. So far the best tour we've done in Egypt. The only thing to "complain" is that we chose the complete package with lunch, which was delicious btw, however, the drinks were not included as we expected. Apart of this everything was great, thank you very much!Written 8 November 2024
- Mario J0 contributionsMuseu Egípcio, Cidadela, Mesquita Mohamed Ali and Cairo CoptaWe had a great time thanks to the very well versed guide whom very nicely and with great knowledge explained every aspect and detail of the different places we visited. I hope we can enjoy the same guide (Anan Mahmud) when we come back to Cairo on the 07/11.Written 2 November 2024
- Filipa P0 contributionsUnforgettable Journey Through Time in LuxorWe started our tour in the Valley of the Kings, where standing before the tombs of iconic pharaohs felt surreal. Our guide, Sam, was deeply insightful, explaining each tomb's unique history and sharing details we never would have noticed on our own. He also helped us pick the most remarkable for us to visit inside. Next, we visited The Temple of Hatshepsut. Another fascinating stop that showcases the story of Egypt's first female pharaoh. Her temple stands out for its elegance and distinctive design, set against the beautiful cliffs of Deir el-Bahri. Karnak Temple was another highlight — its grand columns and towering statues are overwhelming in the best way! Sam explained the complex's architectural evolution and pointed out specific reliefs depicting key events in Egyptian history, making the experience much richer. Overall, Sam was exceptional, balancing historical facts with local insights and stories. He also gave us plenty of time to explore on our own, which allowed us to absorb the ancient beauty around us fully. This trip to Luxor was unforgettable, and I left feeling connected to a history I’d only read about before. Highly recommend this experience.Written 1 November 2024

- GabrielT28090 contributionsBest day trip in Luxor!Really the best company in Egypt for tours and day trips. We visited with them (separate day trips) Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor. In Luxor, we visited the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Memnon colossus, Hatchepsout temple and Karnak temple, all in one day. The food at the Paris restaurant was amazing, but the best and most amazing part was our guide, Omar Ahmed, who was incredible. Amazing experience, this is THE company for travelling in Egypt.Written 15 October 2024

This is a very ambiguous tour for the distance needed to travel to Aswan ....... Firstly my wife and I were picked up at 0700 in a small sedan vehicle by a driver and guide. The 1st stop the temple of Edfu is 2 and a half hours south of Luxor despite being advertised as only being an hour . The Temple itself is fantastic.... back in the car for another hour and a half down to Kom Ombo temple .... by now you have spent 4 hours in the car with about 2 hours worth of sight seeing at this point it’s now 1:30pm and time for lunch ...... however it’s still another hour and a half down to Aswan, so we skipped lunch as we just wanted to get on the road. We got down to Aswan at 3 and drove straight out to the high Dam as it’s another 20 mins through the town of Aswan and through multiple police check points.
We finally got to the temple of Philae and it was AMAZING!! Basically what we had been waiting for all day. However this part was now rushed. We were now informed that technically tourists had to be off the road by 6pm curfew as the tourist police are not at the check points after this time . However it’s not almost 5pm and we have a 5 hour drive back !!
Unfortunately the day was so spoilt by this !!
Emo should not advertise a tour that is un -achievable. The highway back to Luxor is only a 3 hour drive but we were told is unsafe after 6 pm For tourists vehicles . This was a Long day spent in a small car rather than a bus which made it very uncomfortable .
My suggestion is to stay in Aswan the night and find alternate route back to Luxor maybe by sleeper train .

Let me start off by saying that all things considered, this is a petty good deal. However, many of the specifics were less than ideal.
The two of us were picked up in a sedan from our hotel. It was nice having a private tour guide and driver, but the sedan got cramped in the back during the long stretches of driving, especially considering this is described as being by bus.
During the drive to Edfu (the first stop), the driver got cut off by a tuk-tuk and had to be held back by the tour guide to stop him from getting out of the car to fight the tuk-tuk driver.
Once we got to Edfu we felt extremely rushed. My girlfriend is very focused on taking good photos, so, mindful of the time constraints, she more or less went off and did her own thing while I listened to the guide.
Speaking of, our guide was not very good. He made several factually incorrect statements, was difficult to understand, and was very pushy. He kept telling us, "Quickly! Quickly!" and rushing us along. After only about 30 min at the temple (which is huge, btw) he wanted to get going to the next site, but he begrudgingly gave us 30 min free time.
After another 90 minute drive, we arrived at Kom Ombo where we had a similar experience: very rushed, a weird fixation on banal details in the temple's construction (he focused a lot on masonry joints for some reason), and 30 min free time. He seemed annoyed my girlfriend wanted to take photos. More "Quickly! Quickly!"
Despite these gripes, the sites are amazing. I just would have appreciated more time, especially at Edfu.
By now, it was about noon, and the promised lunch was nowhere to be found. Thank God we'd planned ahead and brought plenty of snacks. They also provided zero snacks or bottled water, despite what this listing claims.
Next was onto the Aswan High Dam. This stop should either be skipped or made optional. We spent about 2 minutes here before leaving. Massive waste of driving time that should have been reappropriated to Edfu and Kom Ombo.
Philae Temple was okay. It's a small site, and a plus side of the tour guide was that he handled the haggling for the boat to the island. (You have to haggle for the boat AFTER you have your ticket stub torn. So you're stuck there.) Philae is a smallish site, but it's an absolute zoo. The place was mobbed, and it was difficult to navigate the interior of the temple.
By the time we wrapped up at Philae and got back to the car, it was about 4:30, and we hadn't been fed yet. We were then driven 30 min to a restaurant in Aswan where we had an average (and uncomfortable) dinner with our tour guide.
I think this could have been much more enjoyable with a few changes.
1) A better tour guide who knew his stuff better and didn't rush us every step of the way.
2) Cut out the Aswan Dam and use that time at the huge Edfu complex.
3) Feed us before 5 PM.

Full day trip to Aswan from Luxor with Hesham was great! The day is packed with visits to 4 different sites and you will learn a ton at each location. If you have questions about the history or the Egyptian mythology, don't hesitate to ask Hesham as he will be able to answer any and every inquiry. Definitely bring some confortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking but it is worth it. Lunch was great and seeing the sun start to go down over the Nile was worth the $. Would highly recommend doing this trip if you have the chance.

This was an easy and fun way to get to Aswan from Luxor. Roshdy, our guide, was very attentive and knowledgable about the sites we visited (Edfu / Kom Omhbo / Philae Temples, and Aswan High Dam) and made our discovery of these ancient sites a fun experience. Our driver, Ramses, was very patient in navigating the countless speed bumps on the country road and was always there to resume our drive when we finished our temple visits. Once finished with the sightseeing and arrived in Aswan, we stopped at an essential oil shop and were given a 45-minute presentation on Egypt's various essences. I appreciated this experience however my stomach and brain was hungry for we had not had lunch by then (4 pm) and my attention span was limited. We then drove 20 minutes to a local restaurant in Aswan and had a delicious meal as the sun set over the Nile, after which we were driven to our guest house in Aswan. Overall, easy door to door service with a smile!

I had a great time with my guide Roshdy khodary and our driver Ramses. Roshdy was great at explaining the history and even acted a few scenes for us. We were able to see edfu, kon ombo, philae temples and high dam in Aswan. Overall, I would say the trip was great and busy. I would totally recommend my guide and driver for a future trip.
