Well organised, enthusiastic and enlightening.
Feb 2020
Four of us travelled to Sahl Hasheesh for a fortnight of relaxing and Red Sea diving, but wanted to ensure we absorbed some of Egypt's culture during our trip.

Having done a lot of research into private tours to Luxor, we chose this particular opportunity in part because of its thorough itinerary and largely because of the excellent reviews here. We arranged the itinerary and details in advance of our excursion and were very pleased with the level of communication we had beforehand.

We ordered breakfast boxes from our hotel (breakfast and lunch would be more accurate as they were very extensive), and were collected at 5.15am for the four-hour journey to Luxor - travelling in an SUV with a very attentive driver; allowing for a loo stop (5 £EDP pp - about 25pence) along the way. The market/cafe/toilet stop was also a chance to buy further drinks or food had we needed them.

We arrived in Luxor at 9.30am, where we were joined by our guide for the day Abdul, an enthusiastic Egyptologist with many research credentials to his name, who immediately renamed us in honour of Egyptian kings and queens in preparation for our day.

Our first stop was the Colossi of Memnon, where Abdul not only told us the history of the site, but also showed us the villages nearby that have been relocated as excavation work is underway to uncover new tombs, before we were headed to the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings to visit three incredibly well preserved tombs (to visit Tutankhamun's tomb, there is an additional cost, and if that's something you'd want to do, arrange this with Hass at Love Egypt at the time of booking). It's worth being aware that while phone cameras (without flash) are allowed within the site, real cameras are not, unless a 300£EDP cost is paid (this is about £15 sterling; which will also buy you a disk full of pictures and information booklet; probably a better way to go so that you can enjoy the details of the tombs with your eyes rather than through a lens).

We chose to upgrade our lunch option (£10 pp) so that we could enjoy it onboard a boat on the Nile, a welcome hour of relaxation ahead of the next site visit. Our lunch was a great selection of hot chicken, spicy potatoes, rice, pita, vegetables and salads, and after pointing out some of the city's most important buildings, Abdul took us on the the Karnak Temples.

Abdul is from Karnak and is clearly incredibly proud of the site's history. He took us from point to point and shared his knowledge about its former glory and the remaining structures, before allowing us plenty of time to explore and take photographs. Having timed the tour to allow us to leave in plenty of time before sunset to make the journey back to our hotel easier, we finished at around 3.30pm.

Our tour was arranged via Hass at Love Egypt; who joined us for the last 10 minutes of our return journey to ensure that we were happy with everything provided before seeing us back to our hotel around 8pm.

The passion Abdul has for his work and his country's heritage is second to none, as is his knowledge for the region. We could not recommend him and the Love Egypt team highly enough, and will certainly take advantage of another tour with them next time we visit Egypt.

Luxor best visit ever!
Not sure what I can say.
Absolutely amazing!!! Fantastic tour , fantastic knowledge from our guide Abdul . We really felt like we were back in the ancient times as Abdul talked us through each visit site with great detail and knowledge. We asked a lot of questions because we Em love the ancient history of Egypt and all could be answered. He is probably one of if not the most knowledgeable guide you could want to be with you.
Lunch was brilliant, traditional Arabic meals with lots to eat and a taste of paradise. Nothing was to much trouble for Abdul, if we needed a drink or a rest stop it’s was sorted ASAP.
Thankyou so much for a memorable trip to Luxor, we will be back for sure!!

Day Excursions Luxor and Valley of the Kings
We had a wonderful time with Shima on a two day guide through Luxor and Valley of Kings. She was energetic and helpful, explained enough and also gave us our own time to explore. There were 6 of us and we fit well in the van, we also used Love Egypt for transportation to and from the airport. Thanks Shima!

Amazing
May 2019 • Couples
I was apprehensive when making this booking because we have only ever booked excursions through the tour operator we travel with, however they were not offering a day trip to Luxor from our resort in Hurghada and we really wanted to see Karnak. So we booked and what a day, from start to finish it was very well organised and an absolute bargain. We were fortunate to be the only 2 in our group (you can have groups of up to 6 or 8 I believe) so we got the wonderful Abdul to ourselves, the passion and pride he has for his country and its history is both infectious and enthralling, I consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have spent the day with him. We spent a little extra on lunch by having it on a boat on the nile (lunch in a restaurant is included) but everything else was covered. We had a good mix of talking and learning but Abdul always gave us a little wandering time too. It was a long, hot day but so worth it, book it now and hope you get a magical day with Abdul.

Amazing and memorable day tour of Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Karnak, Colossi of Memnon
Feb 2019 • Couples
My husband and I booked a 1-day tour of:

- The Valley of the Kings
- Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
- Karnak
- Colossi of Memnon
- and even managed to squeeze in Luxor Temple

Our Egyptologist tour guide was Shimaa, who is a really friendly and open-minded person who is non-judgemental of anyone, regardless of sexuality, race, religion, etc. She helped choose which 3 tombs to visit, each with different characteristics, and gave us a lot of information about Ancient Egypt and the sights we visited.

We requested lunch on a traditional Felucca boat on the Nile, but our guide suggested a "motor boat" for a better and safer experience. This conjured up a very different image than the reality. The motor boat was not some small speed boat, but rather a larger decorative boat. We went slowly along the Nile and enjoyed wonderfully delicious typical Egyptian food while taking a break from all the walking.

We also stopped off at an oil & perfume shop to buy some oils.

Thank you, Shimaa, for such a wonderful day and memories that we will both treasure. Thank you also to Ramy, our friendly driver, and especially Hass (the Love Egypt Tours owner) who booked this tour at very short notice after we had had VERY bad experiences with Emo Tours Egypt and Aladin Tours.

memorable day
Feb 2018 • Family
our wonderful day started by being picked up promptly by Ahmed, who was a wonderfully friendly and relaxed driver, he showed my daughter, son-in-law and myself places of interest along the way, explaining about the sugar cane industry within luxor. We were then met by our guide shimaa esmail who had an amazing knowledge, her English was very clear and concise, and we listened with intent as she told story after story of the wonderful history of luxor and of its pharoas and their tombs, she gave a little twist to the tour with a general knowledge quiz which was great fun. After valley of the kings we went to the temple of Hatshepsut and again we were fascinated with the history which was explained so clearly. We were taken to the Alabaster factory where we were shown how it was fashioned into different ornamental figures, we walked round at our leisure and were left to our own devises until chose which to buy, we werent put under any pressure to purchase anything , but couldnt resist a couple of beautiful pieces. After a wonderful lunch drifting down the Nile, which was freshly made by our cooks on board, we then went to see the temple at Karnak, again shimaa explained everything clearly and concisely, she left us to wander around at our leisure soaking up the magnificence of the whole place. Our final stop was for a meet and greet with mr hass who very kindly treat us all to a refreshing drink, he made us feel extremely at ease and wanted to make sure we had , had a good day, and that everything had gone smoothly for us all. I cannot express how wonderful the whole trip was for us, from the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off, shimaa was the most kindest attentive and extremely knowledgeable guide we have known, I would highly recommend mr hass tours and his staff are exceptional. we take back to England many happy memories from Egypt and the trip to Luxor is one of the best

Absolutely Fantastic Day
Went to Luxor from Hurghada with my fiancee and mother in law - We were picked up at 5.30am at our Apartment complex by Ahmed who immediately made us welcome and feeling safe. We were all very tired and he was accommodating to that giving us pillows and a blanket, when we woke up we were in Qinar. Ahmed showed us lots of different sights on the way through. their oldest Mosque is a beautiful sight to see and their sugarcane fields spread for miles. - When we hit Luxor we met with our guide for the day, Shimaa and a new driver whos name slips my mind whilst Ahmed went home to sleep. All day Shimaa was great and answered every question we asked perfectly and in very clear english. You can tell by the attentiveness and detail in the answers she really loves ancient Egypt and her job. We spent time in valley of the kings visiting the tombs and we got to see tut ankh amun himself - all without being rushed after the valley of the kings we headed down to an Alabaster shop where the men were carving beautiful statues and a short demonstration. Inside the shop there was no pushiness to buy. Simply walk around, pick something and get it - If not that was fine too, they remained friendly. - Hatchepsut temple next, WOW. That place is beautiful! Simply amazing and Shimaa told us the story of the temple and then let us on our way to see it and go inside. The view from the top of the entrance is unmatched! After Hatchepsut we headed to the most famous river in the world for Lunch. As we headed down the Nile we ate a mixed platter of Chicken, Lamb and Kofta and it was exquisite! As we approached the end of our Nile boat lunch we were on the opposite side of the Nile, time for Karnak. Karnak made us all feel very small. The way it is built and everything about it. it's just amazing. Shimaa really excelled herself at Karnak. Reading the ancient hieroglyphs to us and explaining them, Showing us the obeslisks and the chambers of the chapel. - at the end of the day we went to a little cafe on the bank of the Nile and met with Mr Hass, who bought us a coffee and asked us about our day whilst we watched the sun set. I would 100% advise anybody thinking of visiting Luxor to go with Shimaa and Love Egypt Tours. She really does live for the job and loves what she does.

Luxor Trip
We spent a great day touring Luxor with Shimaa as our guide. The day was expertly organised by Mr Hass from the pick up in Hurghada (with 2 drivers to share the driving) to the Valley of the kings, lunch on the Nile, two amazing temples and Shimaa even managed to squeeze in a trip to a papyrus gallery for our art student daughter without us feeling we were being rushed.

Everyone was very friendly and Shimaa speaks excellent English so we had a lovely day with her as our guide.

Would definitely recommend 😃

Luxor trip
Had an amazing day out in Luxor. Very busy but organized and efficient. It was also flexible to suit us. We travelled from Hurghada in the morning and back at the end of the day and still managed to visit 4 tombs, 2 temples, a gift shop, a papyrus museum and gallery as well as having lunch on a boat on the nile, all without feeling rushed.

Our guide, Shimaa, was lovely and friendly and spoke very good English, as well as our drivers. We felt safe and involved in the culture, would definitely recommend this trip.
