Fantastic experience! One thing we learnt through our Egypt tour was that the tour guide was the most important aspect of your experience! if the guide is good, your trip would be great, and if your guide is not that great, even the pyramids would be just 'meh'! In this trip, Michael, our tour guide was just AMAZING! He took care of everything for us! He went above and beyond to look after our every comfort! He was knowledgeable, friendly, polite and kind! We were given a 5 star experience right from the moment we landed in Luxor! I would recommend you ask for Michael if you are booking this tour!

We had a terrific time with John and the Journey to Egypt team. Even in high season with many crowds, they were always on time, professional and made things logistically easy for us.

Journey to Egypt have been amazing! We actually booked a 9 day Cairo, Luxor and Aswan tour with Journey to Egypt, but had some specific additions which they were happy to weave into the itinerary. The package they offered was exceptional in every way. We are 2 female friends in their mid 60s who left their husbands at home and came on an adventure! All our concerns were groundless. We were met at the airport and chaperoned through customs! Transferred to the hotel with a guide and driver, even though it was 11.30 at night! Our hotel, the Zamalek residences was great, in a neighbourhoud where we felt very safe. Communications about pick up times etc were always clear and everyone was very punctual. The drivers were incredible... they need to be in Cairo traffic! Our guide in Cairo was Mayer and he was really excellent. An egyptologist, he had so much information to share with us and kept both days interesting and fun. The included lunches were in super local restaurants. Then, a flight to Luxor and 4 days on a Nile Cruise to Aswan. John, our second fantastic guide, met us at the airport and was with us for the 4 days. He was superb as well. Again, so much information, explained in a clear way. All our interests and questions were accommodated, and we felt both guides, and the company were genuinely wanting us to have a great experience in Egypt. They certainly succeeded. We absolutely loved every place we visited and experience we had. Most importantly, we felt completely safe, and we also knew there was somebody on hand who could sort out any problems. Egypt is not directly impacted by the situation in the Middle East at the moment. We would 100% recommend it as a holiday destination, and if you have any concerns, then we would recommend Journey to Egypt as a way to discover this wonderful place. From my first email, Osama the owner was so helpful, and helped us tailor make our own package. Our excursions were just us and the guide, and when we saw the big tour groups we knew we were getting so much more out of the trip. Also, using a local company means the money goes directly to people in the country we are visiting. Local prices were very reasonable, and yes there is a tipping culture, but even being generous they are a small percentage of the cost of your holiday, and many people depend on the tips. We were sad to leave Egypt and the many friendly people we met.. Thank you so much for making our Egypt dream a reality.

Our group of four (two couples), after much research selected Journey to Egypt due to the many excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Our expectations were high based on these reviews and Journey to Egypt far exceeded our expectations in every single aspect of planning and execution. If seeing the splendor of near-perfectly preserved ancient civilizations is on your life's bucket list, then this once-in-a-lifetime trip has to elevate to the top of your list. And Journey to Egypt needs to be your tour company. First, let's address any concerns there might be out there about safety due to Egypt's proximity to the unfortunate situation in the Region. We learned many Americans have canceled their trips due to concerns over this. Never once did we ever feel unsafe, concerned, anxious or otherwise. In fact, we felt more secure with our tour partners throughout Egypt than we would touring many urban centers in the U.S. The service in the Middle East, and, specifically, in every Egypt location we visited was exemplary. We would go as far as saying unrivaled. The art and grace of genuine service has increasingly become an afterthought in the West. Not in Egypt. All of us are seasoned world travelers and none of us could offer an example of service that came close to our experiences during our 6 days together. There are several elements to highlight in regard to Journey to Egypt, why we selected them, and how our visit was managed: Communication: 10/10 From the first email to Osama and the many, many subsequent questions we had about our interest, Osama's communication was always immediate and thorough. It was very evident to us we would be in good hands. Normally, we prefer to build our own agendas, but we elected to outsource this to J2E. Osama gave us the confidence to relinquish control of the trip planning and execution to his team. We are so thankful we did. Logistics: 10/10 From the moment we walked off the airplane in Cairo until the moment we were escorted to security for our return every detail -- customs, Egypt visa, luggage, hotels, transportation, etc. -- everything was flawlessly managed. Every shuttle, every taxi, every boat ride awaited us ahead of our scheduled departure. Not once did we wait. Our guides were always early with all arrangements made. Each day was packed full of activities and the coordination was flawless. Every detail was handled for us -- flights from Cairo to Luxor, Luxor to Aswan, Aswan to Abu Simbel, Abu Simbel to Aswan, Aswan to Cairo. Each executed without incident. Again, flawless (apologies, but this word will be used often). Guides & Itineraries: 11/10 We had the pleasure of two outstanding guides whose knowledge of Egypt was only surpassed by their warmth and professionalism: Mayor was our guide based out of Cairo who led our full day visiting the Pyramids of Giza. Please visit our review of Mayer Magdy -- our day with Mayer was spectacular in every way! When we arrived in Luxor, we were met by a J2E representative who shepherded us through the airport, to the shuttle, and to our riverboat the Sonesta St. George where we met our guide, John. We would spend the next four nights and five days with John. John coordinated everything for us. Each evening, we would review the next day's itinerary. Every detail was managed by John. Our days consisted of a private tour led by John who immersed us in the mysteries of early Egyptian civilizations. He brought to life through his knowledge and passion of these incredibly advanced early societies iconic locations such Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Edfu, Temple of Kom Ombo, the Nubian village of West Al Khazan, and Agilkia Island. Tours were arranged for us with a hot air balloon ride of the Valley of the Kings (incredible!) and Abu Simbel. Again, flawless. By the end of our week, John was part of the family and saying goodbye was difficult and sad. Sonesta St. George Riverboat: 10/10 What a wonderful experience this was! This is a beautiful vessel and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed one of the suites and it was spacious and comfortable. Sometimes it felt like we had the whole boat to ourselves. The Sonesta glided down the Nile where we enjoyed peaceful early mornings and evenings watching the beautify scenery pass by. Mr. Samir should be proud of his team and wonderful service they provided all of the guests. Each day we were treated to diverse lunch and dinner selections. The food was outstanding! In conclusion, we cannot recommend Journey to Egypt highly enough. Every attention to detail was managed from the first question to Osama to drop off was flawlessly managed. Thank you, Journey to Egypt, for making this truly a trip we will never forget!

Our 5-day Nile cruise was certainly a memorable one, for several reasons: 1) From the initial enquiry to the final confirmation, Marina from Journey to Egypt showed extreme professionalism and attention to details, answering all my questions and arranging the trip according to our requirements. 2) The cruise we travelled on (Le Fayan) was comfortable, offering geat service and food, and all the itineraries we took part in were well organised. 3) Most importantly, we were blessed to be assigned Mena Tharwat as a tour guide for all the visits. As an Egyptologist, he is incredibly knowledgeable, but also able to explain and answer any questions about the ancient (and modern) Egypt in great details. At all times during the visits, it was just us and Mena, meaning we enjoyed a very personalised and attentive experience. I will definitely recommend Journey to Egypt and Mena to friends and relatives for their Nile Cruise.

Everything was excellent from start to finish. The communication with the Journey to Egypt team prior to our trip was professional, prompt and informative. Once we arrived in Aswan for our Cruise, we were able to easily find our tour guide John waiting at the airport and from that point forward he took great care of us for a stress free trip. John was very accommodating and made several last minute additions to our itinerary based on our interests and requests. He was also very patient with us - we had a pregnant lady and 3 year old child so we were a slow moving group. The cruise ship they chose for us was clean, modern, with very friendly staff and great food. Overall, I would highly recommend Journey to Egypt for anyone traveling to Egpyt. Most importantly, Egypt is SAFE to travel to and not once did we feel uncomfortable during our trip.

Our four-day Nile cruise was an unforgettable experience. I traveled with my two children (8 and 11), and while I wasn’t sure how they’d handle the sightseeing, our incredible guide, Mena, made everything smooth, engaging, and genuinely fun. Mena was kind, attentive—and incredibly knowledgeable. He adapted the schedule to keep the kids interested and was so thoughtful when my younger one came down with a stomach bug, making sure she was comfortable and adjusting plans as needed. The cruise itself was a dream for the kids—sailing down the Nile, exploring ancient temples, and learning about both ancient and modern Egyptian culture and language. Mena was fantastic—he brought every site to life with his stories and insights. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more memorable trip. If you’re considering a Nile cruise, do it—and if you can, do it with Mena!

This was a great experience. Our guide Michael was amazing. He had so much information and did a great job of accommodating my mom who has some mobility issues. The boat was very nice and the food onboard was great.

We had the most amazing trip with Journey to Egypt!! Even before booking, I had exceptional customer service from Osama who helped tailor the standard 7 day tour to add an extra day in Cairo at our request - he was very responsive and the booking process was super easy - thank you Osama for putting this incredible trip together for us! From the moment we arrived in Cairo we were looked after, and every step of our journey had been meticulously organised. We didn’t have to worry about anything and it felt extremely safe. Our tour guides Mayer and John were so knowledgable and brought the temples and tombs and history to life with their stories and passion. They were very considerate of what we wanted to see and weren’t ever pushy. John also always made sure we had enough water and snacks which is always appreciated! The Nile Cruise on the Movenpick Royal Lily was bliss, clean, and comfortable. We loved the tour of the boat to see behind the scenes where we met the captain and had a cooking demo in the kitchen! The buffet meals were always varied, with themed nights, something for everyone - we piled our plates high every night! We really couldn’t fault our experience with Journey to Egypt and would recommend to anyone :)

The trip was exceptionally well organised. Our tour guide was John who was incredibly informative and well organised. The sites are not to be missed and the photos don’t do justice to actually being there. We had an unbelievable family adventure. John, our tour guide was excellent and took care of every little detail to ensure we were comfortable, especially since we had an elderly couple in the group. John was excellent at explaining the history and stories about each site. His English is perfect, and we understood him very well. The tour company even let us add an extra site to the itinerary with no extra charge. The tours are worth every penny. We felt completely safe at every destination. We have had the most wonderful experience from start to finish with our incredible guide John. John’s English is excellent and his deep knowledge of ancient Egyptian history significantly extended our reasonable background knowledge. John’s extensive knowledge of the ancient sites and fantastic ability to avoid tourist congestion around important highlights inside the sites made our experience all the more hassle-free and special. John was incredibly respectful and polite to everyone, even street vendors and people who might otherwise be intrusive. This made our transitions between the cruise and the ancient sites very easy and stress-free. He is a very nice man. We felt safe and very well looked after at all times. People from Australia often asked me before our holiday: is it safe to travel in Egypt? I can honestly say that I felt my family was safe at all times: just as safe as travelling in Europe. John communicated with us impeccably from before we started the tour and throughout our journey. We knew exactly what to expect and the precise timing of all activities. John was incredibly well organised with everything: our transportation timing was always perfect and the vehicles we travelled in were in great condition and very comfortable. John always had our tickets pre-booked for every site we visited so there was no time wasted at the incredible ancient sites. It has been a magical time for me and my family and I would give John and the tour six starts if I could!

Fantastic trip from start to finish from the moment we landed in Cairo until we checked in for our return flight. So well organised and nothing too much trouble for Osama and his team. Having our own guides was a big plus. They were both very attentive and the knowledge that Mayer and George had was amazing. The Nile cruise boat although fairly dated was comfortable enough. The housekeeping and customer service teams were efficient and friendly. The food on board was really good and was a mixture of international and Egyptian food. I can highly recommend
