Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jolienm6270 contributionsNice adventureNice trip! We enjoyed the hike and saw many animals by the lake. Also Hell's gate was a very nice experience! Charles is a very nice guide and a great driver!Written 15 January 2025
- S3266XYericc0 contributionsLayover tour of hells gate and lake naivoshaCharles was a great tour guide. He was on time to pick me up and was very accommodating and pleasant. I recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks for an awesome time!Written 10 January 2025
- Anne Katrine S0 contributionsCould be betterThe Masai Mara has a good density of animals, and you'll see a lot. The landscape and the tour itself is great. We were promised bottled water and didn't get any until day 2. And the lodge wanted 2 dollars pr bottle (small). The tourguide couldn't/wouldn't help because we all came from different agencies. The tour operator didn't reply until it was already fixed. And even when we had water, we were restricted to how many bottles we could have. Like, come on. Water is the bare minimum of what is expected, and it is so easy/cheap to provide. The tour guide was an incredible driver, but it seemed like he wasn't very much of a people person, and he didn't tell us a lot about the animals or update us on what was going on. I felt like I was bothering him when I asked questions. Overall I had a good experience but it could've been so much better.Written 10 January 2025
- Giovanni M0 contributionsGreat experience with Samuel! We had a great 3 days 2 nights tour in Masai Mara with them! Our driver Samuel drove us safely and demonstrated to have a lot of effort for his job! Thanks to Samuel we were able to see the big 5, and also Lions hunting Pumba :) it was one of the best experiences I ever had in my life! Samuele was constantly in contact with other drivers in order to move fast in the park when someone spotted some wild activity :) Accommodation is nice, with hot water and cozy rooms. Restaurant was simply amazing, dinner and breakfast were awesome! Atmosphere in the camp is calm, with Masai people very (Real Masai) friendly. Camp is just 5minutes away from the park entrance, it makes everything very suggestive.Written 9 January 2025
- mariellenl19740 contributionsunforgettable trip to Tsavo eastOur trip to Kenya was fantastic. We were picked up at our hotel on time by our Guide Pascal. Damaris did the entire guidance and handling upfront quickly and carefully. The 4x4 car was very comfortable and we drove it around Tsavo East for 3 wonderful days. Pascal is an enthusiastic and experienced guide who was there for us all the time. He knows a lot about the animals and the environment. We were also allowed to use his binoculars and had all kinds of books on board to inform us. We were all pleasantly surprised that we also saw the leopard. The accommodation Voi was also completely fine. Great food and the view phenomenal. I can recommend everyone to book your safari here. Safe, punctual, clean, everything was fine. We traveled with our three children of 12-14-16 years old and they also had the time of their lives. Very worthwhile.Written 8 January 2025

He is very knowledgeable about the animals and so the safari was an educational experience too. Chris is a great driver on the dirt roads as well as on the highways between the parks and went out of his way to take care of our needs. The rooms are clean and I loved the net above the bed. We had no problem with bite. The hippo pool is amazing to watch and only a short walk I love to eat the food of the country I visit and I really enjoyed the Kenyan food offerings but there were other options too. The breakfasts were great especially the omelette station which was my favourite. The serving staff could not do enough to help I would thank them for making my stay memorableWritten 4 January 2025

We booked a tour of the Limuru Kiambethu Tea Farm through Perfect Wilderness Safaris & Day Tours. It was a great day. Fiona, the owner explained the history of the farm that has been in her family for 5 generations. She showed us the old tea bush that was originally grown to make tea. She explained the total process by taking us out to the field to show us how the tea leaves are picked, and the bushes are maintained. She expained the supply chain from the field planting to the finished product at the auction house. Went back to the house and with our cup of tea, gathered in her living room where she showed us samples of tea at the various proceses. She answered all our questions about the tea thoroughly. The tour included a delicious home made buffet lunceon on the grounds under individual umbrella tables. We highly recommend this tour 4 hour tea adventure.
We were picked up on time by our driver George from Wildeness Tours. He was excellent. George was informative and told us many intersting facts on the areas that we passed through. He was very friendly, personable and safe driver. In fact he was the same interesting driver that picked us up at the airport a couple of days earlier. We felt very comfortable with him, and hope to experience more tours with him as the driver.

Hello Hoshi1,
Thank you for taking time to write us this wonderful review. We are delighted to read that you had an amazing tour to Kiambethu Tea Farm. This is one of the exceptional gate away plans from the busy city. The tea farm is one of the finest brew plantations. After a walk in the plantations is lunch and afternoon tea as you enjoy spectacular views of seemingly endless tea fields. Fiona who is normally the guide at the tea farm, is very knowledgeable and hospitable.
We are happy to read that George, your driver guide was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and works hard to make a tour interesting for our clients.
We welcome you to travel with us again in future as we explore other destinations.

My family and I booked the tour on our last day in Kenya, the owner was very knowledgeable. The tea was so good we had to buy some to bring home. The tea and cookies were so good and all homemade. Then came a 3 course lunch that was so amazing, everything was homemade and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this tour. We purchased our tickets directly from the farm’s website and used our private driver.

I really enjoyed this tour of the Kiambethu Tea Farm. The owner led the tour of the grounds and she was a guide. We also got to tour the surrounding forest and learn about the indigenous plants. My favorite part was definitely the tea and food, though! Both come from the farm and they are delicious. Also, the driver who picked me up from the hotel (Albert) was really nice and it was fun talking with him during the hour-long trip each way. He was also very knowledgeable about the city.

First of all, Paul was an excellent driver and very pleasant conversationalist. (This was the second time I've had the pleasure of dealing with this company, and I'd highly recommend Perfect Wilderness in general, and both Paul and Joel as drivers in particular.) And the Kiambathu tea farm was absolutely lovely. The host, Fiona, was very gracious and taught me more than I thought I'd ever learn about tea. Julius (I think that was his name) also gave us a great tour through the forest to learn about medicinal plants. And the meal--and tea!--were delicious. Lovely day activity, perfectly doable on a day when one flies out the same evening.

I was a solo female traveler, so this was a great option for me. At Kiambethu, the owner, Fiona, shows you the grounds and tea fields and explains how tea is made; a worker takes you through the forest; and then you have a delicious 3-course meal, with great tea all throughout. It was a beautiful place and a really fun and informative outing.
My guide was Paul who was very friendly and right on time with a driver, Kevin. Paul was very conversational with great English. We talked a lot about Kenyan politics, culture, and way of life.
Admittedly, I did not do much research beforehand, but after I learned that you can book a tour directly with Kiambethu for $35 USD. I think the description for this tour is slightly misleading, as your tour guide through the company (in my case, Paul) doesn't lead the tea farm tour - Fiona does - and you are with other people, which was actually more enjoyable I think instead of expecting it to be "private" as in only you and a tour guide.
Overall, it was very easy to work with the company and they were very responsive. You could book directly with Kiambethu, but if you want to visit the tea farm and have the experience all wrapped up in one single reservation, this is a good option for you. You will have a prompt driver pick you up at your hotel, get you there safely (and possibly early), and have a great conversation with a kind Kenyan about Kenyan politics and culture. Paul was great, and if someone was booking a different tour where you interacted with this company's employed tour guide for the full outing, I'd recommend him.

The visit to Kiambethu Tea Farm was wonderful. Our driver, Paul arrived promptly at 09.30am. He is an excellent guide and shared some useful information about the location we drove through. It was about 1 hour drive to the farm, where we were greeted by Fionna, the owner of the farm and guide.
The farm is in a lovely setting. We spent some time walking through the beautiful garden. The tour started around 11am and Fionna walked the group through the home garden to the tea plantation. She is very knowledgable and shared the history of tea in Kenya and how her grandfather AB, started first commercial production of tea in Kenya.
After the visit to the farm, the group was invited inside the house for a cup of tea and Fionna shared useful information about the production methods and qualities of tea produced. This was followed by a walk in the adjacent forest.
A four course lunch was served in the garden, with an amazing selection of vegetarian and halal food together with plenty of drinks. The home made ice-cream (milk and cream from the from) was delicious. Plenty of tea and coffee followed.
Fionna and her staff very extremely hospitable and made everyone feel at home. She tool care of every little detail and the comfort of her guests. Thank you Fionna and hope to see you again.
