About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 900krisb0 contributions3 day SafariThe safari was great. We saw a lot for the short amount of time. The only reason I rated it 4/5 is because it’s really more of a 1 day safari. I wish I had booked 4 days the travel time is 6 hours there and 6 hours back which it does say on the itinerary. I think I just didn’t look close enough. My accommodations were great and some of the best sleep I had while away.Written 11 February 2025
- Jet201206496330 contributionsAmazing time at the Masai Mara!It was an amazing experience! Dennis our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. I would recommend.Written 1 February 2025

- 75andr_o0 contributionsMount Longonot, Lake Naivasha and Hell's gateOur driver Benard was very professional and communicative. The communication with Beth from Perfect wilderness tours was really good and fast. The hike in Mount Longonot was wonderful as the safari in Hell's gate. The Hotel where we spent the night could be better for the price. But overall a good experience.Written 27 January 2025
- molad8780 contributionsGreat value and a good timeGreat time, great value. Would recommend. We got to see some amazing animals and meet the masi people in their village. I joined in their marriage dance but I had no luck getting a wife.Written 24 January 2025
- jolienm6270 contributionsNice adventureNice trip! We enjoyed the hike and saw many animals by the lake. Also Hell's gate was a very nice experience! Charles is a very nice guide and a great driver!Written 15 January 2025
- S3266XYericc0 contributionsLayover tour of hells gate and lake naivoshaCharles was a great tour guide. He was on time to pick me up and was very accommodating and pleasant. I recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks for an awesome time!Written 10 January 2025
- Anne Katrine S0 contributionsCould be betterThe Masai Mara has a good density of animals, and you'll see a lot. The landscape and the tour itself is great. We were promised bottled water and didn't get any until day 2. And the lodge wanted 2 dollars pr bottle (small). The tourguide couldn't/wouldn't help because we all came from different agencies. The tour operator didn't reply until it was already fixed. And even when we had water, we were restricted to how many bottles we could have. Like, come on. Water is the bare minimum of what is expected, and it is so easy/cheap to provide. The tour guide was an incredible driver, but it seemed like he wasn't very much of a people person, and he didn't tell us a lot about the animals or update us on what was going on. I felt like I was bothering him when I asked questions. Overall I had a good experience but it could've been so much better.Written 10 January 2025
- Giovanni M0 contributionsGreat experience with Samuel! We had a great 3 days 2 nights tour in Masai Mara with them! Our driver Samuel drove us safely and demonstrated to have a lot of effort for his job! Thanks to Samuel we were able to see the big 5, and also Lions hunting Pumba :) it was one of the best experiences I ever had in my life! Samuele was constantly in contact with other drivers in order to move fast in the park when someone spotted some wild activity :) Accommodation is nice, with hot water and cozy rooms. Restaurant was simply amazing, dinner and breakfast were awesome! Atmosphere in the camp is calm, with Masai people very (Real Masai) friendly. Camp is just 5minutes away from the park entrance, it makes everything very suggestive.Written 9 January 2025
- mariellenl19740 contributionsunforgettable trip to Tsavo eastOur trip to Kenya was fantastic. We were picked up at our hotel on time by our Guide Pascal. Damaris did the entire guidance and handling upfront quickly and carefully. The 4x4 car was very comfortable and we drove it around Tsavo East for 3 wonderful days. Pascal is an enthusiastic and experienced guide who was there for us all the time. He knows a lot about the animals and the environment. We were also allowed to use his binoculars and had all kinds of books on board to inform us. We were all pleasantly surprised that we also saw the leopard. The accommodation Voi was also completely fine. Great food and the view phenomenal. I can recommend everyone to book your safari here. Safe, punctual, clean, everything was fine. We traveled with our three children of 12-14-16 years old and they also had the time of their lives. Very worthwhile.Written 8 January 2025
- Tour8289920 contributionsExceeded our expectations! Our safari experience with Chris - SafariDoctor exceeded our expectations! Chris found the big 9 and so many more! He is very knowledgeable about the animals and so the safari was an educational experience too. Chris is a great driver on the dirt roads as well as on the highways between the parks and went out of his way to take care of our needs. We started our safari early January which is after the rainy season so the grass was green which made for beautiful photos and memories!Written 5 January 2025
- ylq5000 contributionsGood trip, bad driverInteresting trip . But with a Good driver it will be better Our time is not the drivers time. Our travel ask a minimum of consideration.Written 4 January 2025
- yuel20250 contributionsUnforgettable safari adventure with ChrisWe had an unforgettable safari adventure with Chris, the “Safari Doctor,” whose keen eye and insights made every moment memorable. He spotted a camouflaged male lion and guided us through an incredible scene where a pride used strategy and teamwork to hunt a buffalo. Chris explained how lions communicate through subtle signals, showcasing their remarkable coordination. His expertise and dedication made our trip both safe and extraordinary, and we’re truly grateful for his outstanding guidance.Written 4 January 2025
- LaurenS3050 contributionsThe best and most helpful staffWe had a lovely stay at Keekorok The staff led by Judy made the stay quite exceptional. The rooms are clean and I loved the net above the bed. We had no problem with bite. The hippo pool is amazing to watch and only a short walk I love to eat the food of the country I visit and I really enjoyed the Kenyan food offerings but there were other options too. The breakfasts were great especially the omelette station which was my favourite. The serving staff could not do enough to help I would thank them for making my stay memorableWritten 4 January 2025
- R5376PPjayv0 contributionsMassai Mara SafariMassai mara tour was awesome, and our tour guide Sammy was the best! We saw every animal except cheetah and Rhino. The massai also took good care of us back at the camp with good meals and drinks. Unforgettable experience for my girl and I.Written 3 January 2025

This was my first time to Africa and Paul from Perfect Wilderness tours provided us with the warmest of welcomes exuding genuine hospitality! He was patiently waiting for us at Nairobi airport and drove us to our hotel via Nairobi city Center on our night of arrival - he was very informative on the drive, pointing out notable buildings and telling us all about the history of Nairobi and Kenya. The next morning, he was perfectly on time to take us to the Giraffe Sanctuary, Elephant Orphanage and Carnivore restaurant for lunch. On the way back to the hotel, he graciously stopped at a supermarket for us to buy some supplies and even accompanied us whilst we did this, such 5 star service over and above his job description! Thank you so much for a wonderful introduction to Africa Paul, we are so grateful to you!

A cautionary tale -
We haven't been on this tour yet, and we are eager to do so but in reserving this tour, we paid via credit card with Perfect Wilderness using a 3rd party to handle the payment online. A few days later we discovered that the credit card with which we booked our tours had racked up over $5K in fraudulent charges! It's been a headache to sort out and thankfully, this is a little-used card. Do note that it does not appear to be fault in any way of the tour company. We look forward to the tour itself.

Our first day in Nairobi, we only had 1 day, before departure for our big safari.
So we contacted Wilderness Safari, if they could arrange a very long day, where we could see ""EVERYTHING"".
So we saw Giraffe Center, Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen, Bomas of Kenya, Bead Factory, and Carnivore for dinner.
Thanks to Dennis for making it such a great day! and Beatrice for being fast and friendly on the mails.
Thanks from Denmark.

We used these people for a customized tour of 3 locations in Nairobi (giraffes, elephants and Carnivore Restaurant and then bringing us to the airport. Our driver was knowledgeable and nice, the places we saw were interesting. The company was so accommodating that when we changed to a slightly shorter tour they even refunded part of our fee which had been paid in advance. i was impressed all around which is hard to do as we travel a lot and have pretty high bars.

Very disappointing “tour” for the price - a complete rip off. We booked this tour through Viator for 6 people at $125/person, expecting a professional and well organized experience, BUT:
A. We were picked up in an old, uncomfortable van with no shocks so we felt every bump.
B. Majority of time was spent in traffic, so little time at the actual tour sites.
C. Driver was pretty much just a driver-not a tour guide.
D. The museums were PACKED with school children so made it impossible to see exhibits or hear the docents.
E. We were taken to two very gimmicky tourist places (including a so-so lunch place) to kill time.
F. One of the sites was closed, so we were asked for an alternative place. We chose the Giraffe Center and was told only just before we got there that we would need to pay an additional $10 per person! An additional upcharge of $60!
G. Here is the ultimate kicker: this tour is only $65/person for a group of 6 on their website! When I pointed this out that we paid TWICE per person, “Perfect” Adventure told us to take it up with Viator. I contacted Viator and learned the company is still receiving $100 per person after the Viator fee.
This company has terrible customer service on top of a bad tour!
