The factory is located in what used to be part of the Karen Blixen Estate (of the Academy Award winning film "Out of Africa" fame.) They have further applied our knowledge of ceramics and the artistic flair that has made our necklaces so attractive, in the design and production of our own unique range of pottery-ware, which reflects the culture and wildlife of Kenya. Each piece is hand made and hand painted in rich colors and our range is extensive from individual collector pieces to dinnerware. About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- suzannesE6566IE0 contributionsAn absolute must!Excellent! Watson was a professional and personal tour guide who made us feel like this was our private tour! A LOT of bang for your buck! Early day tour, we felt like we had the park to ourselves. So many animals, such beautiful vistas. Just a perfect tour for everyone!Written 8 December 2024
- Paddysenge0 contributionsTerrible communication and no empathyWe had booked the half day tour of Nairobi national park but the night before my partner started having food poisoning and we needed to message our driver at night that we won’t be able to attend. We had hoped to go another day but communication was rude and not consistent. I felt attacked and would not recommend this tour operator. We’ve gone with other operators who seemed much more friendly and understanding of situations. Something like food poisoning can happen to anyone and I would have hoped for more empathy.Written 2 December 2024
- F1353DYdianeh0 contributionsDefinitely do this tour!Had a brilliant day with our amazing guide James. Highly recommend this tour - James was professional, punctual, friendly & showed an excellent understanding of the park & it's beautiful animals. Would definitely do this tour again! Never expected to see so many animals in the one day - awesome. Thanks James.Written 1 December 2024
- avaj6570 contributionsAmazingIt was a great experience! Saw Rhinos, hippos, giraffes, crocs, zebras, Lions, Buffalos and many mammals. such a beautiful place.Written 22 November 2024
- HikerPair0 contributionsAvoid: Half trip was cancelled: no refund offered! Plus disorganised. This should have been a whole-day tour but in fact half was cancelled, blaming bad weather. No refund was offered. After making a fuss, the company said that it would refund the cost of entrance fees for the parts that were cancelled, which it said was $25. It actually only refunded ~$20 (and was ungracious about that). The first part here is probably illegal, and the second part is dishonest. The administration is also very disorganised: which is weird because they must do this all the time and we were a very standard customer on their standard tour. There must be many other companies who do tours of that National Park etc. I will choose a different one next time.Written 21 November 2024
- C66OWsarahh0 contributionsExceptional and affordable! From start to finish, this was an exceptional experience. James (also known as Onesmus) was communicative, punctual, and very helpful throughout. We started the day with pickup in the KT safari van, which was spacious and neat, and headed to Nairobi National Park. The game drive was excellent, and James provided us with lots of history and interesting information about the animals. His driving was amongst the best I have ever seen, and he got us very close to some of the big 5! Following this we went to the Elephant orphanage which was my personal highlight, and we had plenty of time to grab lunch before going to the Giraffe Centre. At the end of the day, we were dropped off home. I would highly recommend this tour, as it was thorough, enjoyable, and overall a great experience!Written 20 November 2024
- sonalir5730 contributionsMemorable experienceWatson was a great guide. He was knowledgeable about wildlife, was exactly on time for pickup, and seemed to know where to go to find the best viewings.Written 16 November 2024
- chrissola0 contributionsA lovely Safari and a great morning out!Myself and my husband were picked up on time (5:30am) at our hotel and joined other guests to make our group a total of 7 people. Watson our Safari guide was really great and was in constant communication with other Safari guides to make sure that we saw as many animals as possible. We ended up seeing 4/5 of the Big 5 and lots of other animals! Watson was really knowledgeable and provided some facts on the park and animals along the way. A massive thank you to Watson for his hospitality the entire day. Seeing the Sheldrick Elephants was a dream come true for me and a must if you decide to take this tour. After the elephants we decided to end our safari (our 4:30am wake up was catching up to us!), and we stopped somewhere for lunch on request of a family in our group. My husband and I didn’t fancy lunch and Watson organised a driver to take us back to our hotel. Overall I really enjoyed this safari, the only thing I would say is to get in touch with the tour operator to confirm your hotel is within their included pickup area, as I contacted them the day before with a different query and was told our hotel was not. This additional fee was waived for us though. A big thank you to Watson, we would definitely recommend this tour!Written 8 November 2024
- JonesyboyMidlands0 contributionsExcellent SafariWe booked the 3 days 2 nights Tsavo West National Park staying at Salt Lick Lodge early in October 24. The driver / guide Joseph, picked us up from our hotel in Mombasa on time and drove us to Tsavo West which was quite an interesting journey leaving the crazy roads of Mombasa to the very remote roads inland. We chose the Landcruiser option for a small amount more and it was well worth the extra. Joseph made our Safari as he was very knowledgeable about everything we saw and was very punctual and polite. He was with us for all 3 days and then delivered us back to Mombasa which was great. It was just about to start the rainy season so we watched many animals uninterrupted by the vegetation. The guides all talk to each other on the radios when travelling so you are almost guaranteed to find animals even if it does mean travelling a few miles. Having the facility to use both Salt Lick and Taita Hills hotels means you can relax and swim in the infinity pool if required. Food and drinks at both hotels was very good with a fantastic viewing area at Salt Lick with the rooms and main building overlooking a watering hole visited by numerous animals throughout the day including baby elephants who came so close to the bar area you could nearly touch them! The rooms do not have a TV because who wants to watch TV when there is so much to see from you bedroom window! Accommodation was fine and the overall trip was value for money. I would highly recommend Kenya Tours and Safaris especially if you can secure the services of Joseph. Thank you for all the memories.Written 5 November 2024

- artemsH4563RC0 contributionsNice afternoon safari: a lot of animals seen in the wild. What a great experience! Watson is a very good and positive guide, we made a stop for lunch at the beginning of the tour. We said we wanted to see a lion and Watson tried to find as many as possible for us, and as a result we met 11 lions and many ohers: rhinos, ostriches, deer, zebra, giraffes. Recommend.Written 20 October 2024
- R9471VXtiffanyn0 contributionsNairobi Morning Game DriveWatson was a great tour guide. He listened to the radio and took us to see the animals that were spotted. He was personable, knowledgeable, communicative, and on time. Our tour lasted longer than we expected.Written 18 October 2024
- liisamaijaa0 contributionsVariety of wildlife within easy distance from NairobiI was genuinely surprised by the variety and amount of animals so close to the capital! I can highly recommend taking this tour and leaving as early as 5:30 am. Early start meant empty roads and a quick access to the area, where we could see the sun rising and animals active. The driver took good care of the group, knew where to find the animals and took us even to see a lion and a pack of lionesses. We saw rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, ostriches and lots of other animals. A must do for any nature lover visiting Kenya!Written 12 October 2024
- carolinepH576AF0 contributionsUntrustworthy and deceitfulDO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY! We had a visitor and she booked a full day group tour that included Nairobi National, Elephant Orphanage, lunch, Giraffe Centre, Bomas of Kenya and Karen Blixen. Our visitor was the only one in the group who had booked the full day. So after the half day with Nairobi National and Elephant Orphanage, the driver (who originally wasn’t even informed that she was on the full day tour) abandoned her on the road side and told her to wait for another driver. She waited in the middle of nowhere for 40 minutes. Then this driver took her to a random beads factory instead of the lunch place that was written in the program. In this factory they harassed her and told her she was supposed to buy something which she refused. She kept on telling the driver that she wants to have lunch and continue with the program. He told her that if she wants to have lunch they can only do one of the 3 activities that were still on the itinerary. She was fine with skipping Giraffe Centre, but still wanted to do the other two which the driver refused. She called the company to complain and they told her that they are telling the driver to leave since she’s going to leave a bad review anyway! I have lived six years in Nairobi and never have I heard of such shameful behaviour! To abandon young woman twice and not to fulfill the itinerary that she paid for! They clearly took advantage of the fact that she was on her own. She had to take an Uber from the lunch place and never got to go to the other three places. By the way, she also offered to switch to the half day program if they reimburse her the money which they refused as well!Written 9 October 2024
