- B4807WRalexl0 contributionsTwinkling Honeymoon ExperienceTwinkle Star Tours & Safaris Limited might just be the right synonym for attention to details and elegance. They made our honeymoon experience at Hemingways Watamu befitting, experiential and amazing. From a quick request on personalization to the warm reception we received. Twinkle Star Tours did an amazing job. James was always at hand to ensure I was well informed and updated throughout the travels and stay.Written 17 November 2024
- sporty18230 contributions3 day AmboseliOur tour with Twinkle Star Tours and Safaris was a great success. Our guide met us at the border right at time and was friendly and helpful. James was knowledgeable about the animals and the park and answered our many questions. Communication was good and we were very pleased with our experienceWritten 15 November 2024
- 906svetoslavd0 contributionsIn love with the safariWonderful trip ! Though we confirmed the availability for the trip in the last moment, James managed to organise everything smoothly and we felt comfortable during the entire trip. It was an amazing experience to see the animals. To fly with the Cesna small planes was a great excitement ! Thank you , James !Written 23 October 2024
- Inspire427183602240 contributionsIncompetence? Or FRAUD?I booked an 8-day, late December safari with James of Twinkle Star and made my 40% deposit, with the balance due 7 days before the tour starts. On Sep 27th, James confirmed the itinerary and receipt of my deposit. Just two days later, he emailed me asking for the balance. Since that was not what we agreed on, I declined. Over the next two weeks I received several more requests by email, by text and by phone for immediate full payment more than 3 months early. I obviously lost all confidence in James and Twinkle Star and canceled my trip with them. According to their terms and conditions, they promise a full refund if cancelled more than 60 days in advance. Although I canceled well before this, James is not honoring his refund saying how he wants to refund my money, but “We just don’t have the money” I don’t know if Twinkle Star are scammers or just plain incompetent.Written 19 October 2024
- 968deboraha0 contributionsAmazing nature, inapropriate driverThe safari was satisfactory, as was the hotel, the food and the car. However, a few days after the trip ended, I received messages from the driver (Branson) asking if I was ok, saying that he could not sleep and asking if I had saw the “African cork”. For context, I travelled alone. Maybe this person thought I was available for harassment because of that. That is inadmissible.Written 18 September 2024
- teesquare70 contributionsSafari trip of a lifetime! We had such a great family safari trip to Maasai Mara, and James was an integral part of ensuring everything went well. Despite finalizing out trip late, James was able to craft a custom itinerary of bus and secure rooms for us at the Entim Mara Luxury camp. Our parents and kids enjoyed the safari drives with our Maasai guide James (different guy), who helped us spot 4 of the big 5, besides countless other animal and bird life. James even personally came to check on our trip and wish as goodbye at the conclusion of our trip. Highly recommend Twinkle Start Tours and Safari.Written 27 August 2024
- J9821ZPamys0 contributionsBeyond expectations! It was a wonderful 13-day trip with Twinkle Star from a couple weeks ago! Even say more than perfect! I’ve been looking forward to travelling in Kenya for 15 years, so I have put a lot of expectation in it, and happily we come across with Twinkle star, James and our guide George. Why they are good? 1. Respect. James met us personally in Jomo airport and even in the middle of our trip to make travelling brief, clarification, and alignment with our guide George in case any misunderstanding or unpleasant things happened. 2. Capability. Twinkle star was the only agent out of five that booked every accommodation as the priority in our wishing list. 3. Considerate. The travel plan composed by James was very comfortable and reasonable. 4. Professional. We got brilliant photos and videos of Lion hunting, Leopard, Cheetah, Flamingo, amazing landscape from hot-air balloon, etc. and this is big thanks to our terrific guide George who drove us on the grasslands in search of animals, even patrolling unusual routes, occupying the best shooting spots. When we said we wanted to see the Black Rock Boys, George took us there; we said want to see the lions up close, George made our car only 2 meters away; when he sensing a lion was about to hunt, he cut to the predicted route to occupy central position even there were only few cars sensed and parked around. 5. Reliable. In the Beach Mombasa Diani, James booked us Dophin tour and glass-botton boat ride with not any personal owner but a formal operational office stationed at the hotel which secure our safety maximum. 6. Quick responds. Whatever for email communication or additional request in the trip.Written 15 August 2024
- 118mariavictoriaa0 contributionsUnfortunately AmboseliWe've just come back home from Safari trip in Kenya, booked through Twinkle . We picked Twinkle because of most professional itinerary plan. Price is reasonable. The lodge service , food selection, spa, and bar were excellent. We had 5 gaming opportunities and they were all unforgettable. We felt safe all the time, we got picked up and dropped off at Nairobi airport. The vehicle was reliable equipped with charger and drinking water. Our drivers were highly professional and safe. James is the man!!!!! Thank you James for your assistance and for being available through WhatsApp at anytime. The bottom line- would recommend to all including to myself !!!!Written 13 August 2024

- F8201BAsallyb0 contributionsTrip of a lifetimeJust got back from my custom 13 night tour of Kenya and Tanzania! Twinkleatar waa great! They were really easy to work with when discussing the initial plan and customizing it to be what I needed. They had someone working or at least available to help at all hours so the time gap was less stressful and the planning went quick. The actual tour was magical! Our accomodations were top notch! Even the places that google listed as 3 star felt WAY higher than 3 star!. Our guide in Kenya, John, went out of the way to make our experience special and to make sure we saw everything we pissible could. We saw all of the big 5 and many more! We even got to feed a rhino in Ol Prejeta!!!! They kept an eye on the current political situaltion and kept us safe. Overall it was an amazing trip of a life time!Written 25 July 2024
- jonr7790 contributionsMet my expectationsThe initial communication with Twinkle Star was very good. All questions and concerns were quickly answered. There was a mix-up about our arrival time that caused us some stress when we were not met as planned but that worked out ok. Our guide/driver was friendly and knowledgeable. The itinerary was followed closely. The only animal on our list that we didn't see was a leopard. The most exciting were lions feeding on a buffalo carcass surrounded by hyaenas waiting for the leftovers. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The meals were mostly buffet with many food choices. I had no problem finding vegetarian options. All the different camps seemed to have the same food. The boxed lunches were also satisfactory. This is the only travel of this kind we have done so don't have anything to compare, but we enjoyed the experience. When researching Kenyan safaris Twinkle Star was competitive in price. We arrived home exhausted but since having time to rest and review and share our photos we only remember how much fun we had. It met our expectations. We knew there would be a lot of time spent travelling between parks. Seeing Kenya outside the parks is part of the experience. But it was even more than anticipated. One drive was 12 hours instead of the 7-hour estimate. The two seatbelts in the middle row of the Landcruiser didn't work so when outside the parks we had to use the back which was not as comfortable. FYI - Tipping was a problem that we weren't prepared for. US dollars seemed to be preferred over Kenyan shillings. Having small bills would have been helpful. We overtipped at times and sometimes didn't tip at all. Sometimes the tip could be added by credit card to the hotel bill.Written 22 July 2024

- Tigerwala0 contributionsExcellent introduction to Kenyan safarisEnjoyed an exceptional customized tour of Amboseli NP with Twinkle Star tours. The owner, James, is a master of customer service. He responded promptly to my questions, checked in on me during my trip, and even personally delivered some Kenyan coffee to me at my hotel since I didn't have time to get it myself. Amboseli NP was excellent! I had some incredible wildlife sightings including elephant/lion interactions, my first cheetah, and incredible bird life. I also spent a couple of hours visiting a village of the amboseli masai, which was really interesting. My driver Daniel spoke english very well and was able to position the vehicle in just the right way to help me get some great shots of the wildlife. Great tour overall. Very pleased with my experience.Written 14 March 2024

The Bomas tour was fine, but dealing with Twinkle Star has been a nightmare. First their website would not accept my credit card so I had to wire them the money. Then when we arrived at Bomas they had not received the ticket purchase information from Twinkle Star and we found out that Twinkle Star charged us 3 times the amount. We asked for a refund of the difference. It has been 2 going on 3 months and I as of yet have not received my refund. I would not deal with Twinkle Star as there are several other options available.

Hi Marj,
Thank you for the review and sharing your experience with us.
For your daytrip visit to Bomas of Kenya, you paid $200, for three persons, that's include entrance fees and transport from your location. That was a fare price. if you say we charged you three times higher, you mean we could have taken $ $70 for three people, which is not enough; both transport and entrance fee included.
The reason why we did not purchase the ticket in advance, was because the Bomas of Kenya, was been used by Independent Electoral commission of Kenya, to conduct Kenya General Election, so we had to wait; instead, we managed to secure your ticket upon entrance.
We arranged and made sure you had a wonderful visit to Bomas of Kenya.
Your review is not helpful, but to damage our reputation. Our word is our Bond, and we always promise what we can deliver at an agreed price.
Thank you,
Benson - Manager

Bomas has upgrade.
1. Very clean out and in.. especially cloak rooms. Constantly cleaned since we had pupils.
2. The dancers relate to their culture.. unlike before when you could see 10 dancers .. dancing for all cultures and really just working not performing
3..abit disappointed.. the school group fee has been hiked from ksh 50 to ksh. 200. That was bit high..
4. Thank God there are no cartels like Mamba village the fee is constant and paid to citizen..
5..it was just perfect.. you are have really upgraded... that was quality time we spend with our staff and pupils. The dances were vibrant
