Overview

Beijing is China’s history-filled capital, famous for its rich and diverse culinary culture. During this action-packed food tour, you’ll eat like a local while exploring off-the-beaten-track restaurants down the winding alleys of an authentic hutong, or traditional neighborhood. You’ll zip along on an unforgettable tuk-tuk ride, enjoying unlimited beer as you chow down on some of Beijing’s most delectable food dishes.

What to Expect

Beijing is a cutting-edge capital, but traditional ways of life can still be glimpsed in the old-world neighborhoods known as hutongs— and in the city's vibrant food culture. During this one-of-a-kind culinary tour, you’ll get an insider’s taste of Beijing's most beloved delicacies, bypassing the tourist track to discover under-the-radar, family-run restaurants that are usually only frequented by locals.

You’ll meet your guide and be whisked away on an unforgettable ride in a three-wheeler, known as a tuk-tuk. Enjoying unlimited local beer, you’ll head to up to five different food stops, where you’ll chat with local families and learn how they have kept alive delicious food specialties for generations. Get your fill of different samples at each station, from hand-pulled noodles to savory grilled meats.

Your guide will be on-hand to regale you with the history and culture of the different neighborhoods as you zip between stops. End the night at a local hutong bar for a taste of house-brewed craft beer. With groups capped at 10 people, you'll be guaranteed a personalized experience.

Sorry I did not respond sooner. No passports needed. Those little restaurants are pretty fun. If you are out on a weekend, at least one of those places had a very authentic crowd.
