Not impressed at all!
I haven’t written in a while due to personal circumstances.
With this being said this trip really took place in August 2018 not even 2019 which was a year to be forgotten forever for me!
Bottom line is : I do highly recommend just the Great Wall part of this tour .
Day one of this combo is better to do it on your own and trust me when I tell you so!
Don’t be afraid! If from the airport I got to my hotel all by myself using public transportation even asking for directions yes in mandarin which im clueless about that language believe me when I tell you that a good part of this combo tour is better doing it by yourself!
Otherwise is a great value for what you get!
Day 1: The guide will pick you up from your hotel to “rush you” through the forbidden city with little time to really enjoy and take in the beauty of this palace complex. All signs are in English here so there is a minimum chance you will not understand.
The temple of Heaven is superb then lunch will follow. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food at all now more so than ever after seeing the way they eat but that will be your call. As for me, personally, I skipped all meals offered on this tour.
With the afternoon still ahead the next stop is the Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum where eager hosts will try to sell you as much as they can in the name of “good health “ !
You will then be taken to the summer palace outside the city limits with a mere single hour to spend at your leisure when most people make it a day trip.
Good luck trying to enjoy this wonderful oasis with very little time on your hands. Most importantly prioritize on what’s most relevant for you to see here.
Day 2: First stop is the Jade factory, the national stone.
Interesting tourist trap, good learning experience however at any local souvenir shop back in Beijing you should be able to purchase the very same product at a fraction of the price you’ll pay here so be very mindful.
And finally! At last! The highlight of this tour and only reason I booked it!
The Wall! Which can be sold separately (and prefer to do that then this 2 days combo).
I wouldn’t recommend going to the Great Wall by yourself so definitely take the tour at the Mutianyu Section of the Wall (I really hope don’t regret it later on giving this advice lol) as this is the less visited part of the Wall 🤭🤭.
You will not find crowds shoulder to shoulder specially in this time and age of social distancing.
Although the time will not be enough (reason why I don’t like tours) still you should be able to walk on the only man made structure visible from outer space.
Be mindful the lift chair fee is not included, is not much, but put that into the budget. The best part is the descent in the toboggan, a sliding car down the mountain. It was so much fun should be the only way down!
After lunch (didn’t eat either; China must’ve been the only country in the world where I was so thankful to see Dunkin Donuts, lol, Not even here Mc Donald’s plseeee 🤮🤮, thank you! )
The next stop is the Ming Tombs: I must admit that I didn’t care much about this part of the tour but since it was included I found out not only the scenery is gorgeous but a very interesting place, here you’ll learn about the history of the powerful Ming Dynasty.
On the way back to Beijing nothing better than stopping at a traditional tea house.
Now people this is a must ! After participating in the tea ceremony I can guarantee you you’ll never look at (or taste) tea the same way ever again. If anything China has that is the best must be the tea! Obviously is going to be pricey buying it here. My best advice? You can get the very same tea at a much cheaper price at the supermarket or tea shops downtown. Even at the airport I got a better price than the tea house. This is my invaluable tip of the trip!
Conclusion: is pointless to take the tour of the Forbidden City, skip it altogether, waste of time.
If you have the choice to only choose the Great Wall part of this tour then do so!
Go and enjoy whenever is safe to do so and please do it in a responsible way.
I hope you enjoyed my long, on point, review and thank you for taking your time to read it.
Will come in handy. Stay safe my fellow readers 🙏🙏 and let me know what your thoughts are.

BRILLIANT!
Sep 2019
Even tho my itinerary was changed due to a couple of places being closed to get ready for National China Day, this 2 day tour was fantastic and excellent value for money.
Pick ups are early (7am) but an early start is the best to try miss the crowds.
First day we visited The Summer Palace and later onto The Temple of Heaven. Both fabulous places to see. We also stopped at a Pearl Factory ( trying to get you to spend your money) but also got taken to The Institute of Medical Science for a free foot massage that was well received by all of us! The free lunch was excellent.Earlier return to the hotel about 3.30pm
Day 2... Drove to The Great Wall (approximately 1hr 30mns) The cable car fee is not included in the cost of the trip but not expensive. We paid our guide who then sorted the tickets. Please note..this cable car is like a ski lift so at the top you have to jump off it whilst moving!!
The Wall is just astounding and you have a choice of walking either way, think we had about 1.5hrs alone to discover it. Be prepaired, some parts are quite steep even tho most of the steps are small, but the angle of which you climb can be exhausting, especially if visit when the temperature is high! There are a few steps that are quite high on certain parts so you really need to be quite agile. On the way down we took the toboggan which was great fun and takes about 8 minutes.
Lunch was great yet again.
Later we visited a Jade Factory (again to try make you spend money but was ok)
Then onto The Ming Tombs. To be honest, there is not alot to see there at all, but if listen to your guide still quite interesting. Last stop...was taken Tea Tasting which we all enjoyed and quite fascinating to find out what teas help your health.
Dropped at hotel about 6.30pm. So quite a long and after walking The Wall tiring day.
Excellent value for money, excellent places visited and both days had fantastic guides. Well worth it and a must if taking a flying visit to Beijing

Great price for this trip!

My mom (56) and I (27) booked this tour for our trip to Beijing - we just wanted to hit the important sites. Thats exactly what this tour does. Day 1 - we were in a group of 10 with Jojo who is an incredible tour guide. We were picked up from our hotel at 7.50 am.
Our first stop was Tianemen Sq; we then went to the Forbidden City and explored around there. Both sites were amazing, and we had ample time to see everything, have historical details explained to us and take photos. We then went to a chinese medicine center where we were treated to foot massages by some of the students there. This was a welcome surprise as we had been walking for quite a while by then. We tipped each of the students 20 RMB. After that, we proceeded to the lunch. This was very average food; but it was perfectly edible. Don't expect anything gourmet.
We then went to the Temple of Heaven which was beautiful and then visited a pearl factory and store. We found the pearls a little boring but many others on the tour enjoyed themselves. Our last stop was the Summer Palace. Day 1 ended around 5 pm and we were dropped back off at our hotel.
On Day 2, we were picked up at 7.15 by Selena. This tour group had different people to Day 1 - again about 10 people total. The bus first took us to a Jade factory, which was fairly interesting. We then continued onto the Ming Tombs. The ride to the Ming tombs from Beijing took about 1.5 hours in total. We were very disappointed by the Ming tombs, and would definitely give it a miss if we were to do the trip over again. We then stopped for lunch near the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Lunch was very medium again but edible. The Great Wall was fantastic. The "cable car" is not really a cable car though, it is a ski chair lift and can be very scary for those who are scared of heights. We spent about an hour and a half here walking around before getting back on the bus to head back to Beijing.

The places visited were very good. However, I do not like the visits to the jade factory, pearl factory and other stores where sales pitches were made in the guise of educational pitches. We stayed in these stores for more than 30 minutes each. This could have been spent in more worthwhile places.

Rushed through locations, mandatory sales pitches
Sep 2018 • Family
While the tour did indeed hit the specified destinations, they were experienced WAY too quickly. For example, 45 minutes at the forbidden city. This is exactly the amount of time needed to walk from one end to the other. There was nearly no stopped during the entire walk. Also, both days of the tour were padded with mandatory trips where they took you to stores to shop under the guise of education. The "oyster farm" and "jade factory" were just oyster and jade jewelry stores. The whole group was forced to stay for a half hour at each location even though nobody wanted to be there.

Great Tour with Selena but Avoid Henry
This is a cheap bus tour so of course there are going to be tourist traps. A couple in our group the second day got really upset about this, which was unreasonable because the description shows exactly what we will do each day so the tourist traps aren’t a surprise. If you want 3 hours alone on the Great Wall, book a private tour. Overall the tours were good. The food was much better the second day but our guide was much better the first day. Selena was great but Henry was terrible. He was rude and condescending. You could tell he was proud of his country but he kept putting down other countries like America and Spain in particular. He claimed Chinese work so much harder than other countries, waking up at 8 to go to work until 5! And the Spanish were lazy for going to bed so late. Newsflash: an 8 hour work day is standard in any country. He also walked way too fast and told us to hurry up, and actually started yelling at someone on our tour. He promised a couple he would pay for their taxi since a road was closed and he was unable to pick them up from their hotel, and when they got in the bus, he said he was unable to pay for their taxi. This was absurd. I think there was some racism going on since the couple was Indian and he treated them poorly the whole day.

Cheap but commercial
The tour itself is very cheap. However they bring you to a jade factory unannounced where they sell way overpriced
