This private tour was a good choice for a first-timer to Beijing. It was an enriching experience, thanks to our wonderful guide, Justin. He was knowledgable about Chinese history, sharing many interesting stories and details about each site which one might miss. Along the way to each site, he would also point out different buildings and its significance. There were strict checks at Tiananmen but it was not a very long wait at the queue and moved smoothly. Justin shared stories and China's experiences from both ancient to modern times. He made sure that we also have sufficient time to explore the places at our own pace and recommended a good place for lunch.

The views were spectacular. The walk was the perfect length. Somewhat challenging, but accessible for most people. There were plenty of places to buy bottled water, use the restroom, and buy souvenirs along the way. After the walk, we were treated to a local meal. The summer season is said to be more scenic while the winter season is less crowded.

We loved the tours! Our guide Jenny was excellent and very kind. She has a lot of knowledge about the history of China and took us to good places to eat. The driver Mr. Lu was also very kind and polite to us. It was a pleasant surprise to find Catherine Lu Tours! I highly recommend them!

Our guide Lisa from Catherine Lu tours was a great guide and provided excellent information on Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace.

Jenny was a very competent, kind guide. Seems not so easy entering Tiananmen Sq and the Forbidden City with.many checkpoints,.without a guide. She has had the right feeling knowing what we were interested to be told. She has an immense knowledge about present and past history and she was able responding to all our questions. She also knows the small facts about the Forbidden City, which you won't be abke reading in a rour book. Further was extremly helpful advising us what could be done after the tour and organizing a taxi. Many thanks to her.

An incredible experience. The Jinshanling section of the Great Wall was very beautiful and was even better because there were no crowds at all. Our guide was very helpful, the pick up and drop off went very smoothly. He was kind enough to drop us off in another, more convenient location even though it was at least 30 min further away. A big thank you.
