About
This' a hero's pick! Three part of the Great Walls will make your great wall tour a different one.
Each of the three parts has different characteristics. Juyongguan is the steep part, but it's short, hiking may take only 40 minutes to the top and the view is pretty. Huanghuacheng is the authentic Great wall which has not been restored yet, 99% of the Great Wall bricks here were made in the Ming Dynasty(1404-1592), this could be a history walk. Mutianyu is the prettiest section in Beijing, since its mountain full of the trees of chestnut, walnut, peach, etc. It made this hike as the scenic one.

- swR7171PJ0 contributionsGreat Wall, Great way to spend a 10 layover with a Great tour company! With the guidance of the Beijing Impressions Tour company, I arranged for a 10 hour layover in Beijing to visit the Great Wall. Tony,my contact at the company, was very helpful ahead of time with specific instructions on how to speedily navigate the airport and find my tour guide. Although it was a Saturday, Tony was in contact with me to ensure I connected with my tour guide. I highly recommend my tour guide and driver, Jim, who spoke great English and provided great historical as well as general information about the Great Wall and Beijing. Jim accompanied me on the wall and took great pictures as he continued to share insights about the wall. And, back at the airport, Jim helped me with my luggage and got me to my flight check in point. I made it back to the airport with 2 1/2 hours to spare! I can't more highly recommend this tour company and Jim and Tony.Written 14 December 2019
- Zibbedy0 contributionsBest decission everWe had a 14 hour stay in Beijing, for transit to New Zealand. As the inner city seamed kind of unspectacular, we decided to book a trip to the wall. And this was the best decision we could make. In the price included is a private driver, the wall entrance fee and the shuttle bus ticket to the wall, as private cars aren't allowed to drive there directly. Our Driver Shane picked us up right at the exit of the baggage area. He is a really lovely guy, who speaks English perfectly, gives a lot of tips and loves to answer questions about China etc. Arriving at the wall tourism centre after a 1,5 hour drive, he accompanied us all the way. He even walked all the stairs up to the wall with us, to take some pictures from us. After that he gave us the opportunity, to explore the wall on our own. We stayed on the wall for about 1 5 hours. When we walked down the stairs back to the wall tourism center, we met him again and he drove us back, directly to our departure terminal. This trip was worth any penny, thanks to the hilarious driver Shane. Thanks a lot!Written 5 December 2019
- kdlowww0 contributionsWhat a Treat!I truly did not expect to have that great of a time in China. I was initially excited but after a long plane ride, I was very tired from a two week vacation with my partner I was just plain worn out. Our tour guide Michael brought my energy back. He was funny personable and took pictures that my boyfriend and I will treasure for the rest of our lives. He saved the day for us and made the great wall and experience I’ll never forget. We recommend this tour highly. Great experience.Written 25 November 2019

- LosGatanTom0 contributionsGreat Plan B when Jiankou was closed offTony received early information that they were not allowing tourists to hike Jiankou to Mutianyu, this allowed us to “call an audible” and travel to a similar remote unrestored section of the Wall. Had he not had access to this information early, there would not have been time to adjust our plans. Others at our hotel drove all the way to Jiankou before learning of the closures due to fire risk. Great tour companies have access to information early and create a similar experience. Tony was super nice and knowledgeable and on our drive to Huanghuacheng gave us all the background information on our new hiking location. First class operation. Highly recommend it!Written 5 April 2019
- barbaramO9223ET0 contributionsOne day Terracota warriors from BeijingWe had an long but amazing day visiting the Terracotta Warriors. Shortly after booking this tour our tour organizer Wangsi was in touch and kept in touch with us up to, during and after our tour. We could not have asked for a more punctual pick up or delivery to the airport to board our flight from Beijing to Xian. While is was an early flight (pick up at 0430 from our hotel) the process to get to the airport and arrive in Xian to our next guide was flawless. We quickly boarded our van and were on our way to the Terracotta warriors. Our guide in Xian was Rosa, she spent the time traveling to Xian telling us the history of the warriors, which was absolutely fascinating. Rosa kept us all on track, which was a challenge as we were there during the Chinese New Year holiday week and the crowds were crazy. Rosa knew how to get us in to see the different pits without too much difficulty until we reached Pit one which was the most incredible pit and the most crowded. We had to push and shove to get to the rails to take photos, but Rosa was absolutely invaluable in her efforts to make sure we got our photo opportunities. Would highly recommend this tour.Written 5 March 2019
- Li P0 contributionsdive bars and meeting friendsSoho town is a popular spot which you can hang out lots of bars and night clubs. In this part of Beijing and you can meet with lots of folks whom are not from China and they are from Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and US, and those folks came to China to live and to work with joint ventures or foreign branch office or conducting int'l business. Those bars offer different culture singing bands from Philippine or local popl singing groups. I highly recommend anyone visiting Beijing to check it out.Written 9 July 2018
- annlKildare0 contributionsBrilliant Private Day Tour of BeijingWe arranged to do a 1 day tour of Beijing covering all the Main sites. The itinerary was set to start at 08.15 which it did. We were collected by Jessica from our Hotel on time. There was bottled water in the car. We were brought from site to site with just the right amount of information ( Not overloaded) and given enough time to see and photograph the main features. It was 41c in Beijing so very warm. We visited Tianamen Sq. ,Forbidden city , Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven. . We were brought for "Hot Pot " lunch. Please bring a sheet to cover yoursel if u have never done this before. The sauce goes everywhere, but so well worth trying. It was a long day . Jessica and the driver were so good and made the tour for us.Written 15 June 2018
- SimonanLisa0 contributionsNice Tour from airport to Great WallWe had a 9 h stopover in Beijing and booked the tour only 12 h in advance. With the 24 h-visa we could leave the airport and our tour guide picked us up at the arrival gate. The driver waited in the car, so we could leave immediately to the wall, which takes about an hour, depending on traffic. In January you have to be aware that it's very cold, but the tour and the guide were great! And we can definitely recommend to go early in the morning, as there are no other people on the wall!Written 18 April 2018
- SEC49490 contributions2 day private tour with Great WallWe had a two day layover in Beijing and hired this company to guide us. We arrived at 730 am and followed their instructions for a temporary visa. The instructions were excellent and we got through the airport very quickly. Our guide was Sherry and she was very personable. On day one we went to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Palace. We went quickly as it was very cold (January) so Sherry suggested we visit a Tea house for tea tasting to warm us. The day also included a nice lunch at a traditional place and a visit to a silk factory. Before dropping us at the hotel she pointed out the shopping district and suggested a restaurant. On day two she was waiting for us in the lobby at 730 am. She took us to a bakery for coffee and snacks before heading to the Great Wall. throughout the tour her knowledge was good, she answered all our questions and she took pictures at all the best spots. We would not have been able to see such amazing sites without her guidance. Thank you Sherry and we made it to the airport with lots of time to spare.Written 31 January 2018

- KocourMikes0 contributionsBest start in ChinaChina is big and Beijing is huge. To become familiar in first days with the capital I´m trully recommending my experience with Beijing Impression Tours. On internet I ordered in advance the Great Wall Badaling Trip (+ Olympics, + Jade Factory, + Ming Tombs, + Tea ceremony) and for the evening Peking Opera. I received confirmation to my room at the evening, in the morning at 7:10 was the tourguide Yoyo in my hotel as promised and the same happens at 18:20 in the evening. On time in China! The guide was very nice English speaking, she delivered a lot of interesting informations, took care about all of us. She responded any of our questions, recommended the best places for eating, shopping in the city. Very reliable agency, best services, good prices!Written 11 September 2016
