- 1Beijing Olympic Park is located in Chaoyang District, at the north end of the central axis of Beijing City. It is a quite large, man-made nature park, was made for the 2008 Olympic Games. The Olympic Forest Park, known as "green lung", is also the first choice for many people to enjoy flowers in Spring, you can watch and enjoy cherry blossom, begonia, clove, spring greeting, magnolia, forsythia, mountain peach, apricot, rose or other flowers. Morning be picked up at your hotel in the downtown Beijing, drive the park directly. The park is divided into 2 parts, you can spend the whole day to visit both north park and south part. It’s convenient to either choose wandering on the path on your pace or taking the sightseeing shuttle bus for viewing the flowers. About lunch, you can prepare some snacks and fruits for the picnic lunch, or we can take you to the local restaurant nearby, please cover the lunch by your own expense.

Because it's winter, both attractions had very few people which we liked. I'm sure during warmer months there would be more of a crowd. James was a great tour guide who showed us the highlights of both. We did a multi-day trip in Beijing & Xi'an and used Catherine Lu Tours for all our time there. John was extremely knowledgeable and took some great pictures of us as well. It was a long day trip from Beijing but so worth it. If you can, spend the night in Xi'an. Seeing the Warriors was definitely bucket list item checked! As an added bonus we had a chance to meet one of the brothers who discovered them in 1974 while digging a well.Written 2 December 2024

This trip was the highlight of my 3-day trip to Beijing. My guide Justin was super flexible, knowledgeable, and fun! I plan to return to Beijing one day and see more of the wall with Justin. Lisa is very informative and knowledgeable and make each spot very interesting. She is generous with her sharing of the history of each attraction. Lu Shang is a careful and attentive driver. While planning the tour, Catherine provided many good suggestions to cater for our wish for an eco-tour in Beijing. She was patient and always willing to help. On that day we went to two spots, the Olympic Forest Park 奥林匹克森林公园 and Wenyuriver Park 温榆河公园·未来智谷. Our tour guide Sonia is very knowledgeable and cheerful. She speaks very good English and mandarin, and has lived in Beijing for decades. She did some research the environmental engineering design of the parks and introduced them to us (such as the water treatment system and use of reclaimed water on artificial wetland, smart rubbish bins etc.) For lunch, she reserved a very decent traditional local Chinese restaurant which we all enjoyed. Although the walk during the tour was tiring, it was fruitful and relaxing. Thanks Catherine and Sonia for arranging such a wonderful journey!
