Jakarta in Brief is the ideal stop-over package for those in need of wanting to get the highlights of the Indonesian capital moulded into 3 days. This starts with a private transfer from the Soekarno Hatta International Airport, approximately 25 kilometres northwest of the city centre, to your booked hotel. English speaking assistance will inform you about what’s in store for the coming days as the driver navigates through the traffic and into downtown Jakarta. Depending on your flight arrival, we will give you the afternoon free to explore the region, get acclimatized and find yourself in one of the ample eateries for lunch or dinner before turning in for the night.
After a good night sleep and having enjoyed breakfast, it is time to be welcomed by your English speaking guide for a full day out and about in Jakarta. The multi-cultural influences of Indonesia will be unveiled at Old Batavia as you visit Chinatown nearby the Glodok Commercial Centre. With ample time to see influences left and right from your vehicle, we pass the famous draw bridge (Kota Intan) before entering the harbour side of Jakarta. The presence of Phinisi (wooden fishing schooners) at Sunda Kelapa Harbour are reminders that construction excellence from the past still can find a way into the modern influences of today’s fast-pacing society. Boasting 500 years of history, the harbour still is one of the key factors for commerce, trade and a safe haven for ships, vessels and sailing boats throughout Indonesia.
We break for lunch (not included) before moving on to the Fatahillah and its Puppet Museum; long the artistic centre of Wayang Puppet masters and an education centre for lifting the veil of this gracious form of art. Influenced by many cultures, Wayang Puppetry still plays a very important role in delivering Indonesia’s heritage to society with a good element of fun and entertainment. The intricate design and deeply-rooted traditions of these puppets have found their way around the world as perfect souvenirs. Outside Indonesian puppets, one also can admire its counterpart from other countries.
Our city explorations in the Indonesian capital give visitors an up-and-close insight of Jakarta’s traditional lifestyle ends with bringing you back to your hotel. Dinner is on own arrangement and you will have plenty of dining options to choose from!
After checking out procedures on the third day are completed from your hotel, seeing Indonesia from a bird’s eye views fills the morning before transferring you and your travel companion to the airport. This park (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) is a collection of pavilions illustrating the multifaceted Indonesia culture. We particularly focus our visit on Museum Indonesia, housing contemporary arts crafts and traditional costumes from around the country. From here, the drive to the airport ends your 3 days Jakarta in Brief and the start of your travels to your next destination.
