- romnikog0 contributionsA tour to remember. Our tour with them went extremely well. We had fun touring around the metro and experienced new things. I didn't know the tour would be so informative and fun. The experience with the guide is impeccable and the experience was seamless. Hoping to book another experience again in the future.Written 8 September 2024

- Paul Leslie M0 contributionsAbsolutely shocking.Food was absolutely terrible. Chloe was great. But overall a terrible experience. Overpriced for the cheapest food she could find. Terrible part of Manila. Only good thing was the beer.Written 7 September 2024
- Chad K0 contributionsGreat food with some historyFood was great and got a nice history of the area. We had about a dozen different kinds of cuisine at various restaurants and street vendors around town.Written 3 September 2024
- Matthew B0 contributionsGreat experience! My wife and I did this tour while visiting Manila on business. It was a great experience although we weren’t expecting the sheer amount of different things we were able to sample! All of it was wonderful and we especially enjoyed that we were able to visit some very small family-run places that we probably never would have found let alone visited during our time in Manila. The variety of foods was good as well - we’re fairly adventurous eaters but I think the options offered would still be suitable for more picky tour participants. In my experience, it’s always a good sign when you’re eating at a place that is full of locals too, and that was certainly what we saw throughout the tour. Our tour guide Chloe was amazing and was full of great information about the history of Manila and of the Chinatown itself. In all, we’d certainly do it again and will recommend it to othersWritten 30 August 2024

- Voyager673408382500 contributionsAmazing Filipino street food! This is an amazing street food tour. All the food was delicious and it was great to pair it with the knowledge of the guide. My tour was with the owner himself, Jian, and he was incredibly knowledgable about the food presented and its history and significance in Filipino culture. I would highly recommend this tour and my next trip to Manila I will be getting the Chinatown tour his company offersWritten 13 August 2024
- Jaini F0 contributionsThe best traditional filipino foodWe had a great experience. Tita Oyette made several really tasty home-cooked meals - which started with a refreshing drink made with cucumber and lemon. A lot of food was prepared for our meal including misua, fried milkfish with atsara (a filipino pickle made with labanos, cucumber and vinegar), mixed vegetables cooked with coconut milk, our favourite beef steak, and palitaw for dessert. It was fun to have a conversation with tita oyette because she shared a lot of trivia and stories about the dishes she prepared. These foods are all authentic Filipino and each dish is made with a lot of natural and healthful ingredients. I would highly recommend for those who want to experience authentic filipino food.Written 12 August 2024
- ellamariec20240 contributionsSavor Traditional Filipino Feast with a Local Grandma in TaguigI recently experienced a delightful meal in "Aunti"Oyette's house - where she and her family greet you like long-lost relatives. Eager to share stories and laughter over the dining table, their genuine warmth creates a delightful, casual atmosphere. The menu boasts a variety of traditional Filipino dishes - each prepared with care. From the Missua soup, the flavorful Bistek, the tender Milkfish, or the soft coconut Rice Cakes, every bite offers a burst of authentic flavor I recognize from my own Filipino family events. Aunti Oyette house is more than just a place to eat – it's an experience that allows you to connect with Filipino culture through food. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore beyond the unusual tourist spots and savor genuine Filipino life.Written 12 August 2024
- 741josephined0 contributionsIntro the Manila Street FoodThis is a must do in Manila. If you want to sample Filipino foods that the locals eat, you have to book this food tour. Our guide Jian was amazing. Before the tour even began, Jian introduced himself and confirmed the meeting time and place. He was very knowledgeable about the foods and filipino history. My family thought the tour was already ending but come to find out we were only midway. We only completed appetizers. We did not even start our main course yet. You will end this tour happy and with a full tummy. Amazing local tour. Jian you’re the best!!Written 6 August 2024
- mariabQ7775YU0 contributionsLovely foodtourWe loved this tour! Make sure to come hungry because you’ll be eating lots of different food. Our guide knew lots about the city and had an answer to all of our questions.Written 5 August 2024

- asjamz0 contributionsThe best food tour I've ever tried!Could not recommend this tour more!! My husband and I truly enjoyed our street food tour with Jian. It was my husband's first time in the Philippines and my first time trying street food. Jian made the experience so comfortable, educational, authentic and deeply enjoyable. His passion for food, history, and culture truly shined through on every aspect of the tour. We even got to ride in the tricycle and the Jeepney briefly! We left with full tummies, snacks for later, and unforgettable memories. If you have to take only one food tour, highly highly recommend this one!Written 29 July 2024

Spent a lovely couple of hours cooking and chatting with Chyl. She's a very good teacher and is very easy to get along with. She told me stories and gave me lots of advice about my time in the Philippines in-between cookery instruction. I learned a few relatively simple dishes that were very tasty and would be easy to repeat at home with your own ingredients if you can't find the exact items. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Top tip, make sure you turn up hungry!

Today my husband and I enjoyed a unique bonding experience with our adolescent grandchildren by taking the Filipino cooking class. Our chef, Miss Chyl, helped make sure that entire group was comfortable as we prepared and cooked the various menu items. She also helpfully explained the history and regional variations of each dish. The entire event was well planned and executed (and the food delicious)... leading to an afternoon filled with laughter and joy.

Had an absolutely great time at the cooking class. Chyl was phenomenal- very kind, patient, knowledgeable, and shared so much passion about food.
Though 'Merienda' is a Spanish take on the word 'snack', I certainly wouldn't need any more food after the class.
If you're a foodie and want an experience and skills to bring back home, this is for you.

Chyl is a good teacher and we thought initially that it is not so much to cook, but we left a lot on our plates. It is so satisfactory to eat what you cook under Chyl's kind directions. Thank you! Highly recommended when in Manila.
And ...if you prefer to have a quiet time, you can book it on a Sunday and might have a private experience.
We will be back. Thank you, Chyl and Team at Explore Manila Tours 💓

Explore Manila Tours provided us with an excellent experience in a convenient location in the heart of Makati.
Chyl was an excellent, compassionate guide who patiently and with humor taught us how to cook authentic Filipino treats. These including Pansit Noodles, Lumpia Spring Rolls and Sweet Turon Crepes. I'm actually confident enough to try these at home now.
In addition to the cooking related information Chyl also shared fascinating background about Filipino food culture.
As far as I am concerned this class is a must-do adventure if you want deeper insight into Pinoy culture.

If ever you find yourself in the Philippines you should gift yourself with this hands-on cooking class. It's fun, immersive and educational - even for someone who cooks a lot. The amiable host and instructor, Chyl, introduced my group to many helpful cooking techniques while sharing funny, sweet anecdotes about growing up in the country. The class is held outside her cute café and is very casual and inclusive. The experience would be fun for a group of friends or a couple looking for a little competition. On the other hand, going solo would ensure a new friend

This class was not only an enjoyable experience but really helped hone my confidence in the kitchen. Chyl, our guide, was a capable mentor and incredibly patient as she explained the origin of each dish. After the class, I started crying with joy because I felt so happy. I can't wait to share what I learned with my friends and family.

A fun group date with couples! A different and enjoyable way to learn about a country. We spent two hours learning how to make Filipino snacks, two savory and one sweet. And at the end of it we got to enjoy our own cooking.
Our instructor Chyl guided us in the preparation of three vegetarian dishes (and provides tips on how to add meat if you like) that were easy to make in a short span of time. The recipes were easy to follow and tasty. I can imagine these would be easy to adapt to whatever ingredients are available in your own country.
We were greeted with a welcome drink of a cold lemonade, which was nice in the Manila weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided us with whatever we needed during the session. Each of us had our own table with all the ingredients and equipment, and the recipes and instruction were easy to follow - even beginner cooks would find it hard to mess up. All in all a lovely afternoon well spent.

Cooking class was a lot of fun and I personally learned a lot. The guide was easy to follow. We cooked filipino dishes such as turon and pancit bihon. It is my first time cooking the dishes so I am enthusiast to learn the dishes. Having cooking class is a great idea to spend time with your colleagues or friends as the place is cozy.
