What to expect
  • Start the day with 9am pickup at your hotel in Santiago, then begin the 1.5-hour trip to the Santiago Valley in an air-conditioned minivan. Enjoy views of the scenery along the way, passing gentle, vine-covered hills that shelter lush river valleys. Make the first stop of the day at Veramonte, an organic vineyard that’s celebrated for its pinot noir and sauvignon blanc varieties, then continue to Emiliana winery, one of the world’s largest organic vineyards. Pause for lunch at Tanino Restaurant or the Rio Tinto Grill (own expense), then spend the afternoon exploring wine at the final two vineyards of the day: Viña Mar and Indomita. At each stop, staff will introduce the products, explaining the process behind each bottle. Two tastings are included in the tour, and at Viña Mar, you’ll have the option to upgrade to a tasting of sparkling wines. At the end of the day, begin the return trip to Santiago, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Great day in the Chilean countryside.
Mar 2021 • Solo
Gabriel and this wine tour were nothing short of amazing. After being cooped up in Santiago for 2 weeks due to quarantine requirements, it was such a welcome relief to get out and see more of this beautiful country. Gabriel is a wonderful host to the country he is so proud of, and is very conscious and respectful of any and all Covid restrictions/requirements. He speaks perfect English and is knowledgeable about all things Chile, not just wine, including music, food and geography. I enjoyed Gabriel and the tour so much I arranged a 5 day ad hoc tour of the region...one of the most authentic and enjoyable vacations I’ve been on. I highly recommend you book this tour and any other offered by Gabriel.

Highly recommended! We were collected in a lovely people carrier car and our group was only 5 people. Gabriel our guide was very informative and patient during our tastings! We visited 4 vineyards, a very enjoyable day!

Great Trip to the Casablanca Valley with a Great tour guide!
Jan 2020 • Couples
My husband and I had a perfect day on our tour of the Casablanca wine region with our tour guide Gabriel. Gabriel provided the perfect balance between being informative and allowing us to view the scenery. All of the wineries on the itinerary were excellent. When we return to Chile (we are already planning our next trip), we will definitely do this tour again!

Vineyards tour
Nov 2019
We visited 4 vineyards, Ritual, Emiliana, Casas del Bosque and Something with Renoir like the painter.

3rd vineyard was the best with an eclectic menu paired with wine . Gabriel is definitely very experience on the vineyards and he was on time to pick up us, regardless of the high traffic in Chile. We had a great time.

Best Tour Guide!
Nov 2019 • Solo
Our tour guide, Gabriel, really went the extra mile to insure that we had an excellent trip! He welcomed everyone as they boarded the van & explained the sites we passed on our way to Casablanca.
While at the wineries, he had excellent suggestions & made sure that everyone was involved.
We had a great cohesive group which was a reflection of Gabriel’s ability to make us all feel “ at home!”.
I would highly recommend Gabriel & our driver, George, for your next trip!

The highlight of our stay in Santiago
This was a great way to end our holiday. Our guide spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour (albeit with a few inappropriate remarks). His father was the driver, and he did drive quite fast, with a lot of sudden braking along busy streets as we left Santiago, although the return journey was more sedate. We liked the balance of two included tastings and two optional tastings to be paid for, which enabled some of our party to opt out of the final tasting because they had had enough. We particularly liked the first tasting at Veramonte, where our host, the delightful Connie, explained all the wines, encouraged our feedback and added another wine to the tasting for comparison. There was the option of lunch at the third vineyard, Casa del Bosque, where the comprehensive menu catered for all tastes, appetites and budgets, and compared very favourably with the best restaurants we had eaten at during our holiday. Our guide also collected our email addresses and forwarded photographs he had taken during our tour, which was a nice touch, although he should have protected our identities by using blind copies. Possibly data protection regulations in Chile are not equivalent to European standards.

Mostly wine tasting and not as much about touring the vineyards
Oct 2018
Overall it was a good tour since you can sample several different wines and never have to worry about driving. Our driver and guide was Juan. He was a really nice guy but his English was not super excellent. You can totally understand but its not easy to have a back & forth conversation and be engaged in a dialogue. Also driving and talking at the same time is not always a great combination. We made 4 stops - first one was Veramonte - bigger vineyard but good wines. Second stop Emiliana - was a bonus stop so you could buy wine if you wanted. 3rd stop was my favorite - Bodega Re - very small winery and Nicole was great. Loved the wines here and the liqueurs (you have to pay to sample - $5 for 4 samples). 4th stop was Casas Del Bosque and we had lunch here at Tanino. Food was good. Service was absolutely terrible. The servers were confused and pushed for the 4 course pairing menu ($75) and didn't care as much if you didn't get that. Wines were good. Back in Santiago around 5:15 pm.

Excellent day in the Casablanca Valley!
Mar 2018 • Couples
What a great day we had with Gabriel on this fantastic tour! We visited Veramonte, Loma Larga and Vina Mar on our tour. Each place did a great job, but Loma Larga was my favorite because we got to take a tour of the winery itself and Irene did a wonderful job of explaining the process that goes into winemaking. Lunch at Vina Mar was delicious with a view of the vineyard that was spectacular. Gabriel did an amazing job as our guide~lots of great information on all things related to Chile! I highly recommend this tour~it's so worth it!
