Had 1 day in Quito en route to the Galapagos and doing a private day tour with Guillermo of Rebecca Adventures Tours was the perfect way to squeeze lots of Quito sites into a day without us having to deal with any logistics.

We were at the Wyndham airport hotel which involved an extra fee for pick up ($40) and shuffled the order of the day from the web description. Guillermo was waiting for us on time with a very nice vehicle for the day. He was very informative and lovely to spend the day with.

If you only have 1 day to “do Quito” I highly recommend this approach. We never felt rushed (or bored) and felt we saw lots. He even swapped the 3rd church visit in old town for a quick stop at a chocolate place based on our interest and took the time to walk us by the old town hotel we would be staying after returning from Galapagos.

Coordinating with Rebecca Adventures in advance via email and paying was relatively straight forward.

Quito is a great start of your trip to Ecuador. And even better when doing this with an amazing guide who explains you everything about the city. The historic part of town is beautiful and our guide took so much time to explain everythong about it. We spend about half of the day in the city and half of the day on 2 sites that are not far out of town and great to visit; the museum at the middle of the world and an amazing part of nature so close by town. Lunch was delicous! Defenitely recommend you to take this tour and have a great day!

Thanks for your nice review. Quito is indeed a fantastic city with many faces. Almost all our guests are amazed by the modern city part. But the old town where the churches are built on the remains of the Inca ruins is also worth a visit. Hope to see you soon again, Saludos cordiales, Willem

We had a lovely tour of Quito with Eduardo. He showed us all the sights in the city (including lunch), took us to the equator and dropped us off at the Teleferico at our request. His knowledge was excellent and he was friendly and educational.

Well worth the price. We were visiting Quito on the way to the Galapagos Islands and had 1 1/2 days in Quito. Great restaurants [Zuza]. I was not sue the best way to see the highlights of the city, to get around and feel safe. This was perfect. Our guide was wonderful. We enjoyed the views, the sites and felt completely safe on the tour. I ended up booking the same trip for our adult daughter and her boyfriend as a Xmas gift as they were touring Quito after meeting us in the Galapagos and I wanted to make sure they enjoyed it which they did.
Great trip

This was a great day out . It was a private tour and was expensive but was worth every penny. Our guide Ximena picked us up from our hotel in her immaculate and comfortable SUV. . First we got wonderful views from Pululuhua and then joined a guided tour of the Equator Museum where we stood on The Equator Line and took plenty of pics. Then we drove to have lunch in what was once a Monastery in the Old Town. The venue was lovely but lunch was just about ok. Ximena walked us round all the sights and paid our entrances into the wonderful churches. She explained the history to us at all the sights. We finished by going to El Panecillo to see the large statue of The Virgin Mary and the wonderful views of Quito. It was a memorable day out and we got to see a lot of what Quito has to offer in a short space of time. Thank you Ximena and Rebecca Travel .

We saw so many sights that day. We started from the Pululahua Crater. The view from the crater rim was incredible. Then we went to the Equator Line Museum. The museum has very interesting and colorful exhibitions. We have learned a lot and everyone had a chance to do some scientific and funny experiments. We also saw a local dance presentation there. The museum is must see if you are visiting Quito. Then we went to the Old Town. We started from the statue of La Virgen del Panecillo. Our guide Caroline (Carito Pinto) explained all the elements of this monument to us. If you are looking for a private guide ask for Carolina because she was the best guide ever. She is very knowledgeable, speaks great English, she is smooth driver and she is well organized. Together we had a delicious lunch in the charming Old Town and we restored our energy well. Then we continued visiting Old Town and at the end we went to Basilica of the National Vow. It is the largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the Western Hemisphere and it is absolutely beautiful. Caroline led us through it, above the celling and up to the tower. I wasn’t brave enough to climb last ladders but my husband had no fear of heights. He took some spectacular pictures of the town for me.
It was really wonderful day. Thank you again dear Caroline.

I'm the Director of a small International School in Northern Chile, to teach the children of expats working in the copper mining industry. In February of this year we took an Educational Field Trip to Quito, Ecuador. We were there for five full days, five full days of activities, and we hired Rebecca Adventure Travel for our itinerary. We went to Mindo, zip lining, butterfly farm, Mitad del Mundo, Cotopaxi, Hot Springs of Papallacta, had a half-day cooking class and did several other things, like local museums, plaza de armas, museo de Guayasamin, etc. Rebecca Adventure Travel did an excellent job shuttling us around (there were 16 of us), providing for meals, and looking after us. I was especially appreciative of how they were able to make changes to our itinerary when we had to (for example for inclement weather one day, they changed our itinerary on-the-fly, changing our day from a trip to the mountains to a "Cultural Tour" of the city). They did all this the day before, in the evening, at our request.

If I had to find something to snip about, I would probably say that, at times, our guide's English could be a little difficult to understand (his name was Pablo). And, at another time, our itinerary said we would visit a chocolate factory and "learn how chocolate is made from bean to bar," when in reality we just sat down at the factory and had a glass of hot chocolate while our guide passed a cocoa bean around the table.

However, these are there smallest of peccadillos for a tour and a group of our size. We travel together as an international school every year, so I know some of the problems that can go wrong. And NONE of these went wrong with RAT.

I would recommend RAT wholeheartedly for your tours. And I would recommend Angelica Torres (who coordinated everything for us). Give Rebecca Adventure Travel a chance. There's a reason they have so many good Trip Advisor reviews.

My wife and I booked the tour for Oct 4. Our guide Angel was extremely professional, flexible and provided a great deal of information during our travel and at each site visit. If you can request a guide ask for Angel. Overall very well organized agenda, very comfortable transportation (large van) safe and we had a fun time.

My friend and I booked a city tour with Rebecca travel for our Quito visit last month. Everything went smooth from booking through to the tour. They were great to deal with and we had an amazing day seeing the old part of Quito, the Basilica and a few other churches, Panecillo Hill, the equator museum and a delicious lunch. Our guide Guillermo was excellent, very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We learned a lot about the city and Ecuador. We would not hesitate to recommend Rebecca travel.
