- elizabeths4090 contributionsBirdwatching in MindoLatin Adventures took us as a last minute reservation and set us up with a wonderful bird watching trip to Mindo. Our guide, Diego, was wonderful. He got us to 3 beautiful locations where we saw an amazing array of tropical birds including Cock of the Rock, many beautiful tanagers, barbet, toucanette, and a fantastic display of gorgeous hummingbirds that sat on our hands and drank for the little hand feeders we were given. it was magical.Written 27 January 2025
- gregpeak0 contributionsGreat tour of QuitoGreat tour. Driver was very knowledgeable. Great way to see a lot of Quito in just one day. Communication was great. Everything was right on time.Written 22 January 2025
- Vladimir G0 contributionsBeautiful place!Great hike, not as bad as people describe! Just get couple days to get used to elevation in Quito prior the hike! Bring some layers and cash!Written 6 January 2025
- U6947TVjamieb0 contributionsSo fun, educational, and delicious! This was such a fun and educational experience. It was so neat to walk around the Mercado while Josue explained how and why so many foods are used. He also talked about Quito history as we walked around downtown. Josue explained well how to prep and cook the food and shared good cooking tips. The food was fairly easy to make which is nice so that we can replicate it. The restaurant (ClaroOscuro) we prepped the food in and ate it in was beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. Incredible experience all around.Written 28 December 2024
- mkessel0 contributionsGood excursion near QuitoDaniel did a great job and guide and driver, giving us an insight into Ecuador's history and culture, in addition to the sites we saw. We first saw Pululahua Crater from the observation area. We had a good amount of time at the Intiñan Museum, where there was an on-site English guide taking us through the cultural exhibits and fun Equator demonstrations. Then the nearby Mitad del Mundo, where he climbed the historic monument built where they used to think the Equator was.Written 24 December 2024
- D2469YHjackieb0 contributionsNot worth the costI was very disappointed in this tour, especially given the price. The night before the tour, we had not heard when or where we would be picked up, and when I tried to communicate with them, they were not very responsive or friendly. We showed up right at 8:30am that morning and no one was there. Still I hadn’t heard from the tour guide at all. Eventually the tour guide arrived, but the van was still late. The tour itself was fine. Our tour guide made a few comments that made us feel uncomfortable as two women traveling. We enjoyed the intiñan museum, but our tour guide just dropped us off there and we were toured by someone who works at the museum. We weren’t able to walk to the old mitad del mundo because there was a festival, and that was not mentioned to us when we signed up. Once we got to the historic center, we basically just walked past churches and only entered into one. It felt quite pointless. We did a few free tastings, which we could’ve done without the tour. We didn’t even get taken home in the van - we had to take a taxi, paid for by the company. But it would’ve just been cheaper if we paid for our own transportation. Overall, we could’ve paid way less to do these experiences and had a way more positive experience.Written 17 December 2024
- M8386BFals0 contributionsQuito and Napo tours in EcuadorWe visited Quito and many places in the area for a week and a half, and then flew/boated to the Napo Wildlife Center in Yasuni Park. There were many things to enjoy in the Quito area - Quito itself, the equator, Otavalo markets, Cotapaxi volcano, Mindo, Banos - and we were well cared for by our guide, Alfonso Freire. Napo gave us many chances to see birds and animals, notably giant river otters, a rainbow boa, and three anacondas. It was a very good experience.Written 11 December 2024
- cristinaaQ6498PU0 contributionsSwing on the edge of the sky then stand with each foot on the northern and southern hemisphereExcellent tour and worth it. It was only my husband and I who were signed up for the tour so it ended up being very private. Our tour guide, Juan Pablo (aka JP) was very personable and knowledgeable. Our driver Dante was also great. The Teleforico trip was excellent. We got there before all the other tourists and almost had the swings on ourselves. It was nice and sunny so we go to see clearly all the high points. Recommend to bring a little TP as the bathrooms don't have them. We really enjoyed and highly recommend the Intinan Equator Museum (where the real equator line is). We learned about the interesting cultural history and got to actively participate in some activities to demonstrate the Cornelius effect. My husband was crowned an "egg master" for being to balance an egg n a nail on the equator line. Instead of going to an optional our offered, we asked our guide and driver to take us to a restaurant and treat them to lunch where we can taste authentic local cuisine. We went to Vicente where we had the traditional potato soup and La Tonga.Written 24 November 2024
- Safari457400 contributionsGreat Tour Experience to PeruLatin Adventures organized our 6-day, 5-night journey through Peru, and we're incredibly grateful to Dante for putting it all together. Our private tour itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to experience incredible destinations, including a walking tour of Lima's historic sites, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Ollantaytambo. The highlight of our trip was Machupicchu. We were even lucky enough to get the best seats on the train ride to Aguas Calientes. I will definitely reach out to Latin Adventures, especially to Dante, for our future trips in South America.Written 29 October 2024

- SueLMiller280 contributionsGreat day out in QuitoWe had a great day with Diego. We visited the old town, went up in the cable car and went to the equator. We learnt heaps and felt safe at all times. A great day out.Written 30 September 2024
- drsqd0 contributionsFull day and lots to seeOur guide, Diego, picked us up at our hotel in Puembo for an extra fee. Once we were in the old town area, he parked the car and we started walking. It was interesting being on a private tour with just us two and the guide. He gave us a lot of history as we walked the streets. Diego was good with answering our questions. We went into several churches and he allowed us time to reflect. Part of the tour, we had a Chocolate Tasting Tour, which was fun. In the mean time, he had gone and picked up the car, so we found him and then went to the Teleferico. What a view of the city! It was cold up there, but we had brought our coats. We then went to the Crater Inn and had a late lunch overlooking the crater. Absolutely beautiful and amazing food and service! We then went to the Mitad del Mundo museum. It was very informative and we enjoyed that part of the tour a lot. We did get out passports stamped, too. We were returned to our hotel after a great day. We enjoyed the tour and felt it was very worthwhile and fun.Written 16 July 2024
- 734daring0 contributionsGreat tour if you only have 1 day in QuitoDiego was amazing. We booked the private tour option and Diego adjusted the schedule based on weather. His english was excellent and easy to understand. He informed us of the history and culture of Quito as we travelled along the entire trip. It was a full day and feel like we got a good taste of what Quito has to offer in the short time we were there.Written 5 June 2024
- Adventure2801600 contributionsWonderful action packed day in QuitoDiego took us on a wonderful action packed day in Quito. We were only in Quito for 1 day, so it was a great private tour to encompass all the main sites in a short space of time. Itinerary was scheduled around the weather which worked well. Highlight was the Intiñan museum to learn more about the aboriginal culture and of course to appreciate being on the equitorial line!Written 4 May 2024

We had a wonderful half day trip which included a ride to the top of the Teleférico and horseback riding with Diego. He was an expert guide and made the experience fun. Diego shared so much knowledge of the area we traveled though including Quito. Please don’t hesitate to book your excursion with Latin Adventures! We had a really great experience.

This was a really cool excursion. Did it with my mom and brother and we had a great time. Our tour guide Oscar was amazingly friendly and very knowledgeable about the country and heritage. The Tram up the mountain was really cool. Be prepared for the affects of the elevation. We drank the local Coka tea on top the mountain and it really helps with headaches and negative elevation affects. The views are amazing on-top the mountain. We jumped on our pony’s or donkeys and started up the mountain. Disclosure! although the ride isn’t fast it is steep uphill and narrow. If your afraid of heights or horse I wouldn’t do this one. Can always hike up and down mountain if you want. Overall, really fun and cool experience. Tested our limits in a good way.
