- john s0 contributionsAndean beautyFascinating introduction to Cajas National Park I spent a very pleasant morning exploring with Diego the flora and fauna of this beautiful part of the Andes. Diego was most knowledgable about herbal plants and we identified many on the way.Standing in a Polylepsis forest was a highlight. The trails ran around lakes and hillsides and Diego kept a gentle pace leaving the traveller well refreshed at the end. All in all a very worthwhile experience .Written 8 January 2025
- alchiez0 contributionsAmazing Cajas! It was amazing! The view is incredible. Edison our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the Ecuadorian history and culture.Written 6 January 2025
- Experience791630 contributionsLovely birdwatching in the national park.Wonderful half day tour with Edison to the Cajas National Park. He showed us some beautiful views, and we had the opportunity to do some birdwatching with him. He flexed the itinerary for us based on our mobility, so we enjoyed a nice stroll rather than a hike. A lovely morning out.Written 5 January 2025
- paulcY8112HC0 contributionsFantastic experienceWe did the second guided tour with Edison. What’s again he was amazing and very knowledgable about the history of the country. I strongly recommend him to anybody who wants to do any tours in Ecuador.Written 5 January 2025

- 738zachl0 contributionsCUENCA AND CAJAS NATIONAL PARK SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT TRIPWhat a beautiful day hike and a delicious lunch! Eddie from Polylepis Tours was awesome! He was full of information regarding the flora the birds and the history of the land, Cajas National Park was magical. I have no words to describe its beauty. It’s a must see! …and don’t believe the government! There is no violence in Cuenca. My girlfriend and I are already planning our next trip back to Cuenca.Written 28 December 2024
- 738zachl0 contributionsCUENCA SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT VACATION DESTINATIONWe had an amazing day with Christian in Cuenca. He was full of knowledge. He shared the older and modern history of Cuenca. He took us to a very large food market and let us taste lots of fruits and local foods. He also took us to the street food section of town and showed us some amazing foods there. We absolutely love Cuenca, its people and its history. We will come back and call Polylepsis tours again.Written 28 December 2024
- 809jakat0 contributionsNice pre-Christmas tour.We liked that our tour was "private" since we were the only two joining. Diego shared a lot of information and his English was good. The intinerary is in general underwhelming.Written 26 December 2024
- 471vit_riar0 contributionsA truly beautiful tour!Ingapirca is a must-see for anyone visiting Cuenca, especially when the tour is led by a competent, kind and attentive professional, like Diego from Polylepis. The archaeological site, which is well preserved, is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. A great tour!Written 26 December 2024
- Jennifer G0 contributionsThe best tour ever! What an outstanding tour! Diego speaks fluent English and knows every fascinating detail about Cuenca, the history of Ecuador, plants and native traditions. The tour company was very easy to work with! They were directly on time. Our ride was wonderful!Written 25 December 2024
- Nikki4750 contributionsGreat Guide and Amazing ViewsDiego was a wonderful guide who very very knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystem. We really appreciated a route into the hills, rather than just going around the lake. The views were amazing and of course, we took lots of photos. I highly recommend this tour!Written 15 December 2024
- ElizabethH120 contributionsSuper informative private tour with Edison, Polylepis ToursWe had an amazing and educational adventure with Edison, of Polylepis Tours. We hired him for a private tour of the Ingapirca Ruins, in late November 2024. First, we visited a beautiful church on the way, then the ruins, including a walk to a viewpoint of the Inca face, then an authentic Ecuadorean (delicious) lunch, then back to Cuenca. Edison (Ed) was a fount of information regarding Ingapirca, Cuenca, and Ecuador- including ancient and modern history, archeology, and natural history esp. the flora and birds. Ed’s English is very good, and he has a facility for tailoring information to the level and quantity desired. Highly recommended!Written 30 November 2024
- Anthony c0 contributionsFantastico!Amazing tour, we were met in the morning and our tour guide was amazing, let us stop and get food at the store for the ride, and was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the birds and trees and every aspect of the tour. I would love to go with him again !Written 27 November 2024
