Below is a general outline of our full day tour. · You will be picked up from your hotel or hostel between 3:00am and 3:30am and drive north to Chivay where you will eat a simple breakfast. · We then head west to the Condor Cross located on the rim of the Colca Canyon. You will have one hour to enjoy the views and look for condors. · We will make our way back towards Chivay making stops at Antawilke to see pre-Incan terraces, a small colonial town called Maca, and the Yanque hotsprings to bathe in the hot pools for one hour. · Upon arriving to Chivay we will stop at a local restaurant to eat a buffet lunch. · We then head back towards Arequipa making two final stops along the way at Patapama and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. · You will be dropped off back at your hotel around 5:30pm.

I had a really great experience with Peru Baby Llama. My friend and I are two young female travelers and we felt super safe and comfortable in our group. The schedule and sights were super well-done and planned. It was a full day of adventure.

Great tour operator and very good prices. I went to the office to book some tours. Judy was giving me all the information and recommendations I needed. Really really great person. Thank you Judy.
The tour was also very nice even though it starts very early in the morning (3am) ;)
Would always choose Peru Baby Lama for Trips around Arequipa.

Booked the Colca Canyon trekking 2D/1N with them. At their office Graciela explained us everything and the tour was way cheaper than other places (100 sol pp). You should add money for park entrance (70 sol pp), private room (30 sol pp), lunch 2nd day (30 sol pp) and hot springs (15 sol pp). They also rent hiking poles for 30 sol. It is not their own tour, so you will join other people.

English speaking guide Fabian was good. Group size was 10 people. First day you hike about 6 hours, second day 3 hours. No problem for reasonably fit people.

Breakfast both days was really basic (bread with a tiny bit of scrambled egg) and small portions, same as dinner (only a bit of spaghetti with tomate sauce). Drinks are not included. Accommodation is basic too, with no electricity and no hot water. We were told towels were included at the private accommodation upgrade, but that turned out not to be true.. We had words with the people at the accommodation who just didn't believe us, which was a shame. Apologies were offered at the office afterwards.

Of course, you get what you pay for! If you are looking for a company to visit the Colca Canyon at low cost with a fine tour, just book with them. If you are looking for something less basic, then you will have to pay a lot more at another place.

Few days ago I and my husband went to Colca canyon tour with Baby Lama tour. Tour was awful, literally the worst tour organization which I’ve seen in Peru. My husband was so disappointed with it and wrote feedback here, in TripAdvisor. And do you know what has happened??? That night, about 22.30 one man came to our hotel and requested delete this feedback! He started to explain that we didn’t buy tour in Baby Lama tour but they just rented places in their bus. But for me, it doesn’t matter. All day long I saw the logo of Baby Lama tour in front of my nose, I saw the guide wearing T-shirt with logo of Baby Lama tour and we pick up some tourists next to office of Baby Lama tour. What I should think? With which company I was in tour? Of course with Baby Lama tour! Why I should believe in story that they wasn’t involved? Reputation in our time is very important thing. And if Baby Lama tour just rented someone bus with your logo, they rented their reputation as well, it’s very easy.
And one more question: if we have never bought tour with Baby Lama, how someone from this company knew were we stayed? Is it a normal disturb people so late? How can you feel safe after this? It took time to carry out uninvited guest! We didn’t like this experience!
Summary: tour was terrible but what has happened after it - even worse.

We had the best intention of apologizing and explaining the reasons that we were not responsible for the organization of your tour. But we were ignored and refused from you. Because you never booked the tour whit us one more time you don’t have any voucher or any tickets from our agency. Your seat in our car was requested just transport service by other tour operator paying 10.00 usd per each seat We don’t know how your hotel they sell you the tour and what they promised for you in the tour, because those hotels they don’t care about the service just sell because they win big commissions. Once you booking the tour with us you have option for briefing one day before of the tour to tell you. 1. How will be itinerary of the tour 2. How will be all facilities during the service 3. How will be the guide 4. How will the meals 5. How will be the weather 6. What you have to bring 7. What you will expect from the tour You didn’t wanted to hear us, so sorry we try to help you but your attitude is very sharp threatening to fill us with more bad comments You should make the complain to the people who sell you the tour we are backpacker company not luxury that you was excepting.

We did the 2d/1n trek to the colca canyon.
First, the bus should have picked us up at 3am and they were late so after waking up very early we had to wait.
Afterwards, we met our guide: Paul. Everything seemed very well at first and we could go by ourselves at our own pace. However, he soon rushed and put pressure on us to go quicker. Luckily we are young and in good shape but two people had to leave the group as they were not feeling they could keep up with our guide. After running up and down the mountain we arrived at the lodge ( more exhausted than we should) and we had a lot of free time ( there was no rush to run like that!).
The pace of the first day had consequences in our physical condition the second day, where we had to face 4km walking uphill. Luckily, we were strong enough to made it but our legs would have been glad if the first day had been lighter.

However, the price was reasonable and the food and accomodation were correct. The guide also spoke really good english which made communication easier.

It is a beautiful trekk and a natural paradise. It was good because we were young and fit but we are not sure others would have made it.

We went to 2 days Colca Canyon trip with this Organisation. We had as told in the office two guides. One English speaking, one Spanish.
The Spanish speaking guide was the main guide. English speaking his Assistent. The English speaking guide was almost indexierend. The Spanish speaking, main guide was a very kind person but not qualified as a guide. He was not able to lead the 15 heads group as we were. We received hardly proper information neither in Spanish, nor it was translated to English. We had to push the English speaking guide that he told something. Next to our group, 2-3 other groups of tourists were also on the same tour, one could sea how their guides were explaining things. In our group, there were as usual, slow walking as fast and normal walking participants as usual. The guide was saying, we have to keep together. But when we stoped somewhere for a rest, waiting for the others, as soon as they came, our guide would go further without giving them to take a breath.
Because of nice breakfast, lunch and dinner and accommodation I should not give them higher notes, as these were offered to the other groups exactly the same as well.

There was a museum in the canyon, our one told, this is a museum go and have a look. He would not come in. When we went it, we saw, other guide was explaining his group many things in the museum.

Hello Ali, Thank you for sharing your opinion of the Colc 2-Day Trek. We take our customer's opinions very seriously and use them to improve and modify the class of tours we offer. We are always very careful to select the best and most experienced trekking guides, and in this situation we contracted a local guide who unfortunately spoke less English than he implied, as you experienced. We do not plan to contract that same local guide due to our requirement for the guides to speak fluent English. We are glad you enjoyed the food and accomidations. We are sorry for the inconvencience, and again appreciate your feedback.

We were a bit in doubt whether to do a full day tour or not, ideally we wanted to do a 3-days trekking, however we were tight on time and a 1-day tour was the only option if we wanted to visit the Colca Canyon.
Luckily we had Walter accompanying us during the trip, he’s an outstandingly funny and knowledgeable guide who made the whole day more than worth it!
We learned a lot and had a lot of fun, we soon forgot the early start we had to face!
We were lucky enough to see a condor despite being out of season, had an amazing weather and enjoyed a relaxing time at the hot spring to seal the end of the trip.

We booked our tours in Arequipa before our short trip to cusco, we had some problems with the bridges collapsing on the way to Machu Picchu, they quickly solved our issue and paid for us to get the train the next day.
Rainbow mountain was a great trip booked through them, good breakfast and lunch, friendly tour guide.
However Peru baby Lama sometimes lacking in communication, it was all sorted in the end. I would recommend this company!

The best thing about booking this trip was Yudi who we booked with! She works in the Baby Lama office but is from the Colca Canyon so she gives you first hand info on what to expect and what to take. Your group will be a mix of people who have booked with other tour operators and we found that some of our group were pretty badly misinformed on what to bring. It's only two days but you will be carrying your own backpack so you really need to know exactly what is important to bring and what to leave at your hostel.
It's a pretty hard 2 day trek and I wouldn't advise doing it if you are not yet acclimatised to the altitude or you have problems hiking up 3,000 feet in 3 hours (which is what we did on day 2 at 4am). The view at the top is worth it though. Seeing the condors and the views of the canyon is a magical experience. Oh and the cocktails at the overnight stop in the canyon are pretty good too ;-)

At first we were somewhat sceptical because we heard to keep away from the 'main square agency's'. But after our talk, in good english, we decided to book a Chachani hike tour. They book at good tour operators or organise it themselves. The info was great and the staff was very friendly. Went back for another tour (Colca hike) which was great as well. We visited a lot of agency's and this was the cheapest for us, would recommend.
