Highly recommended for nature and history lovers
We had an amazing experience. Our guides Nico and Pepe were really accommodating and helped us get the most out of this trip. They did not only help us with the logistics, but most importantly they answered all our questions and helped us appreciate the culture and the history of the Incas. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes both nature and history.

Great trip ending in Machu Picchu!
Tierras Vivas Were an excellent service provider. The tour itinerary was very good indeed. The porters And the Chef were top grade. Henry , our personal guide was the very best. He looked after us and was Prepared for every possibility. He got us to Machu Picchu at the perfect time, early morning. This meant that we had the place to ourselves when it was beautifully peaceful. Henry knew all the best options, and he was an excellent historical guide at Machu Picchu, he knew all there was to know. We do plan to go to Peru again and will use Tierras Vivas And we will also request Henry as our guide.

Trek linking two outstanding Inca sites
Amazing 9-day trek Cachora to Santa Teresa, organised and led by Ruben HQ. Many highlights, but especially Choquequirao, the San Juan pass, Yanama valley and Machu Picchu from Llactapata. Also Leoncio's amazing cooking - so tasty and varied for a long trek. The only down sides were the lack of a view of Salcantay from Puerta Yanama because of cloud, and Machu Picchu itself - now difficult and expensive to get an entry, and very restricted in where you can go on the site.

      Definitely worth it!
The travel agency took care of purchasing everything for the trip other than bus tickets that take you up and down Machu Picchu. Someone from the agency came the day before and explained everything and gave us all of our ticket information. The hike itself was rough at times but definitely rewarding once the end is reached. Hebert does a super awesome job of making sure everyone is doing alright during the hike and keeping a steady pace. Hebert is super knowledgeable about Machu Picchu and takes his time to explain everything, definitely someone that you would want to be your guide during your trip!

      Two Day Inca Trail
Awesome once in a lifetime experience. Definitely a bit tougher but rewarding. Our guide Herbert was amazing throughout the hike and during the tour of the grounds. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for a step above the average the Machu Picchu experience.

      Best tour company in Cusco
Definitely book with this company. My brother and I got sick and couldn’t make the train on the day we booked; however, the company was able to get us a ticket for the following day and I couldn’t be more grateful for their communication as well as their accommodation. Sam was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had the privilege to learn from. He’s an amazing human and the information he shared, I will carry with me for life. What a wonderful and enlightening experience from start to finish. ❤️

      The trip of a lifetime!
The price provided and the service far exceeded all other companies we researched for the 4 day Inca trail trek. I communicated with Pamela to book the trek and she always answered promptly and clearly about any question I had. Upon our arrival to Cusco, we had our briefing to explain how the trek would go. There was some questionable communication about our itinerary, but Henry, our guide, was able to navigate the itinerary and make this trek into an incredible experience. Our team of porters - Clemente (our chef), Enrique, Cipriano, Isidro, Bernardino, and Makario, all were very friendly and did an amazing job. The food was excellent, we had more than enough food at every meal and always had a snack. I still can't believe Clemente was able to make a cake for us too! If you are booking, ask specifically for Henry, the right guide makes all the difference!!! My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the trek so we weren't given a bathroom tent, but there are plenty of bathrooms along the trail. It was truly the trip of a lifetime, thank you Tierras Vivas, Henry and our porters for everything.

      Amazing Guide, Porters, and Experience!!
There was some questionable communication at first around the itinerary, but our guide, Henry, worked everything out and delivered us an incredible hike! Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Really cannot say enough about our team of porters - Clemente (our chef), Enrique, Cipriano, Isidro, Bernardino, and Makario. They did an incredible job and the food exceeded all expectations. If you are booking, ask specifically for Henry, the right guide makes all the difference!!!

      Outstanding adventure and service
Simply Amazing! Tierras Vivas gave us such great service meeting with us at our hotel in Cusco a few days before our trip to go over everything. Everything went like clockwork. Our guide, Juan de Dios, was amazing! Super nice and personable, very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Inca culture inspiring me to learn more. Can’t say enough good things about him and Tierras Vivas. On our arrival back from Machu Picchu, they had arranged for a taxi driver. He was waiting holding a sign with our name. Some confusion over our hotel we ended up back in Cusco. A quick phone call around 18:00 on a Sunday night and all sorted out. We received calls on our ride to assure us all was okay. Three hours in a cab. Tierras Vivas picked up the bill for the ride. The tours and service are exceptional!

      Amazing experience!
Approaching Machu Picchu through the Inka trail was an unforgetable experience. Our guide, Juan de Dios, was amazing both in supporting us through the trail, which was taxing, and in guiding us through Machu Picchu and Inca history. The hiccups of our hotel room and the restaurant where we had our meal did not cloud this amazing trip!

      Perfect tour for limited time
This tour was perfect for us! We wanted to experience the Inca trail, but had limited amount of time. This tour provided 6 miles of the spectacular trail into Machu Picchu with the most stunning views you can get. Our guide, Juan de Dios, was amazing! We started early in the morning by train to marker 104, then headed up the mountian. It's a moderate hike, but almost completely uphill... so many steps. The 'Gringo Killer' steps were hilariously true. After arriving to Machu Picchu, we headed down to Aguas Caliente to a hotel, shower and a great dinner. Then the next day for a more in-depth tour of Machu Picchu- then hiked up the WaynaPicchu Mountain for the optional experience- so glad we did. Our guide made sure everything went smoothly and we were so greatful. Tierras Vivas was also organized with everything we needed. They organize smaller groups which made for an amazing experience.

The Salkantay trek is a stunning alternative to the traditional Inca trail. The Salkantay trek is a once in a lifetime experience with beautiful landscape, at high altitudes (Salkantay pass at 4,600m) and mind blowing scenario. We very much appreciated the Tierras Vivas support before and throughout the trek. Our guide Roger was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the trek and the history of traditions. The trek ends in Machu Picchu being beyond imagination!

Our guides Diego and Juan de dios went above and beyond in their service. In addition to them, the porter and cooks were absolutely amazing. Each day was clearly laid out, our campsites were ready when we arrived and the food was delicious (I had the vegetarian option). We truly felt as though we were a family with tierras vivas. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to go on a trek to Peru. I will most definitely be going back to them for any future bookings!

My friends and I embarked on the Five Day Salkantay Trek. It was a great experience, and we could not have done it without our amazing tour guides Juan De Dios and Diego. Our tour guides were also very knowledgable, teaching us much about the history and culture of the places we stopped by. The whole team made the trek so much easier, helping us carry our equipment, tents, sleeping bag, food, etc. The food was amazing and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend this tour group to anybody who is looking to do this trek.

The trip was planned perfectly and our guide Nico went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed ! Nico made special arrangements for us to have massages once we got to Calientes !! Nico has a vast knowledge of the terrain as well as knowledge of all the history and agriculture! He was constantly providing us with information on each area that we traveled in. The food that was prepared by Andreas was 5 star! The experience was euphoric and hope to return one day soon with more friends and family.

Just completed 5 day Salkantay to Machu Picchu trek with Tierras Vivas - (65 yo couple + 5 young adults in our group) all had a great time. Arrangements made through Pamela- communication was excellent and all logistics/transfers were a breeze. Leo was our trekking chef and meals were hearty and excellent from trout to Lomos Saltado to even a freshly baked cake. Nico was our guide and provided excellent service- he is warm, friendly and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the local flora, fauna, culture and history that he readily shares. Highly recommend this trip and these individuals. Scenery was epic and well worth the trekking effort. One note about the trail/route itself- this is not off the beaten path- it is the beaten path. At any given time you may be trekking by yourself or within sight and sound of one, two, five or thirty other trekkers. Camping is in small private campgrounds. For the first couple of days, all groups on the trail are supplied via packhorses and mules which means the trail is stoney/rocky and one frequently needs to move aside for the pack animal to pass. Fairly strenuous at parts due to trail conditions, elevation and distances but well worth all efforts.

Great guides, Jose and Reuben, delicious food and absolutely breath taking scenery! It was one of the best trips I've ever done! Highly recommend! #ViajasCuscoPeru#Salkantay5D#Amazing

First of all, the Salkantay Trek is a beautiful way to get to know the Andes. High mountain lakes, hanging glaciers, orchids in bloom, and lush vegetation...it was spectacular. Highly recommend the trip!

As for Tierras Vivas, we had an excellent experience with them. I cannot say enough about our guide, Yolanda, who made sure we were well taken care of every step of the way. She had an appropriate demeanor about the trek, including helping us understand the role Salkantay and the mountains played in Inka cosmology, and she was a general "fixer" for any hiccups that came up throughout the journey. The food was also very good, and our cook made sure there was enough to eat at every meal.

We had some complexities with our trek, including a side trip to Llactapata--not part of the usual itinerary--and it seemed like Yolanda had not received a lot of information from the main office regarding our trip. Tierras Vivas was able to make everything work for us, including sending more guides for the final day of our trek, and, despite what seemed like some logistical miscommunications, everything worked out excellently.

The biggest plus of Tierras Vivas, in my mind, is the small group of our trek. Whereas other operators were running groups of 20+ people, a very customizable trip was possible because we had a group of only 4! That really made the trip a memorable and personal experience--and for that I highly recommend them!
