Monica (guide) is the most caring and genuine human. I left the trip feeling like I had gained another mother. So much knowledge and warmth. Also, the hardest working porters. The trip left me with a life time of memories, and where strangers became friends.Written 6 December 2024
- Bronwyn L0 contributionsAmazing trek with TreXperienceIf you are contemplating which company to trek with then honestly look no more further then TreXperience surpassed all expectations . We chose the 2 day Machu Picchu with overnight camping and could not of been happier ..We were given a truly magical experience made so much better by our wonderful , knowledgeable and caring guide José or Pepe as he is known by , by all of his friends . Pepe took the time to point out so much whilst other guides would just walk by. . We were so grateful to have had what we consider one of the best guides in our many many years of world travel . The company delivered a first class trek , arriving for breakfast we were overwhelmed by what the chef prepared and the presentation , the tent with table cloth the selection of teas so much attention to detail . This continued throughout the trek . The food was delicious ! Arriving at our campsite we were blown away by the set up , our tent was walk in , decorated and so comfortable , they even prepared a hot shower for us . Our trek to Machu Picchu was unforgettable ,we were so so happy to have chosen TreXperience but just feel so lucky that we had Pepe as our wonderful guide who made it ever so memorable .Written 6 December 2024

- 436divyak0 contributions11/10 ExperienceI did a 2-day incan trail hike with panoramic train. Our guide was Wilian Elvis who was enthusiastic, informative and helpful. Throughout the whole hike he called us family and treated us like family. I was alittle bit slower on the hike than the rest of group and Elvis stuck with me till I made it to the end and took my pack when I was struggling. He made an effort to ensure that the whole team felt comfortable. The lunch we had after the 4hr chunck of the hike was amazing! The chefs Juvenal and Esteban made a fresh a mango cevechi which was the best ever! And they cooked us fried rice and pasta and beef and a peach dessert. The food was abundant and tasty! The 2nd day was a tour of inca city and Elvis's stories were entertaining and informative! He also customized activities by finding us a massage place for after the hike. He also customized the drop placs according to our next day plans in ollantaytambo. Overall, Elvis made the hike much for exciting than if we were to go with any other guide.Written 5 December 2024
- soknyea0 contributionsPerfect if you want to hike Machu pichu but don’t want to do the 4 day experienceIncredible trip to macchu pichu. Perfect for the everyday hiker, you cover 7.5mi over 9hrs. We had THE best tour guide - willian Elvis! We immediately felt we were in good hands. He was passionate and knowledgeable about Incan culture, very personable, funny, made time for each person and was so fun, he was also focused on safety and preserving the site. We had lots of laughs, learned a lot about a new culture and made new friends in our group of 8. I forgot to mention - the food! Woah - lunch was a production! There was a tent set up with a table and a delicious fresh cooked meal including appetizer, drinks and dessert. Our porters/chefs - Juvenal and Esteban were excellent.Written 5 December 2024

Pick this tour!We had no idea how this was going to be as we had never been to Peru before - but we got lucky and were in such good hands. Communication was amazing! I felt very reassured. Must Ask for Willian Elvis as your guide - absolute the best - great English and positive humble attitude! Estonian and Juvenal were great porters and cooks as well! We had a great group to go with which helped but Willian made sure everyone was happy. Also the company is very accommodating in helping set up other trips . - siddarthab20240 contributionsA Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience with Outstanding Service!Our 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with the panoramic train was nothing short of magical, thanks to the exceptional team that made this adventure unforgettable. From start to finish, every detail was perfectly planned, leaving us to focus on the breathtaking beauty of the Andes and the wonder of the Inca Trail. Our guide, Willian Elvis, was truly outstanding. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Inca civilization, but he also went above and beyond to support us during challenging moments. When the altitude made it tough to breathe, he patiently guided us, encouraged us, and motivated us to keep going. His kindness shone through when he even offered a backpack when we needed it—a small gesture that made a world of difference. And the food? Absolutely divine! Our chef Juvenal and sous chef Esteban worked culinary magic at every meal. It’s hard to believe they could create such delicious, beautifully presented dishes out on the trail. Each meal felt like a celebration of local flavors, prepared with love and skill. Their dedication and talent added a layer of comfort and joy to our adventure. The panoramic train ride back was the perfect way to reflect on the awe-inspiring journey we had just completed. Watching the Andean landscape roll by through the glass ceiling felt like the final chapter of an epic story. If you’re considering this trek, don’t hesitate. The combination of breathtaking scenery, incredible guides, and delicious meals makes this an experience of a lifetime. A huge thank you to Willian, Juvenal, Esteban, and the entire team for making this journey unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended!Written 5 December 2024

After receiving the news that the Classic Inca Trek had to be cancelled due to bad weather TreXperience offered us the Inca Quarry Trek (also known as Condor Path).
The trail was a pleasant surprise, not only due to the breathtaking views and sites, but also due to our guide Elisban that was extremely helpful during the trek and found the time to tell us countless stories and facts about the Incas, and to the staff (Chef, Sous Chef and Horsemen) that did a great job preparing our food and setting up our camping tents every day.
The Quarry Trek is a 4D/3N trek. We started in Cusco in the first day, walked through the Andes and slept in tents until the third day, when we arrived in Ollantaytambo and got a train to Aguas Calientes where we slept in a Hotel before getting the train to Machu Picchu (4th day).
The main highlights are:
* Visit the Perrolniyoq waterfall and explore different Inca ruins;
* Visit the Sun Gate of Ollantaytambo;
* Participate in a Pachamanca (an underground hot stone barbecue);
* Visit villages where you can see people working with wool the same way they did in Inca times;
* Walk through the Andes without bumping into several other groups. I believe that this trek will gain popularity soon, but right now it is a great option for people that want to do an alternate trek to the Classic Inca one and actually experience what it is to be in the Andes with no contact with other tourists.

We did the Quarry Trek after our Salkantay tour got cancelled and it was a great surprise. The views are amazing, the treks go through multiple beautiful passes, Inca and Pre Inca monuments. You also avoid the big crowds of the main treks and are much more on your own but also get to finish by seeing Machu Picchu.
As far as Trekexperience they have been great to work with. Responsive and accommodating in the office and with everything taken care from the start. My only caveat is for the hotel in Aguas Calientes that is not great but options in the city can be limited.
A very special mention to our guides Elisban and Tom that were knowledgeable, helpful on the long hikes (and altitude), super organized, flexible and great to spend time with. Also to the chef coming in the trip, Leonardo for the absolutely amazing food the entire trek. This was an incredible surprise, I ate better at the trek in the middle of the Andes than in most of the restaurants since.
Highly recommended

This felt like a once in a lifetime experience! 2 of us booked the quarry trek together in for mid-August and we were the only hikers on our trip so it felt like a private tour! The weather was perfect and our two evenings camping were spent with stunning full moon rises in the mountains and the milky way above us. Our guide was Vincente, and he was fantastic. Knowledgeable about the area, culture, and history (he went to university to study tourism so he really knew his stuff) and showed a true personal and spiritual connection to the sites we visited that are important to the Quechua people. We also had a lot of fun along the way! The porter and 2 cooks took amazing care of us and were always smiling while doing more work than we could imagine. Tip your porters and cooks! They deserve it. On the Quarry trek itself, day 1 was hard but we got to cool down and enjoy the waterfall - go in if you're brave! Day 2 waa more climbing but with 2 summits to make it all worth it. Keep up your energy on day 2 to make it through the steep and rocky descent and up again to the sun gate with the regal Mount Veronica (literally a picture perfect triangle peak of a mountain). We were almost completely alone at the sun gate and it was one of the most special moments of the trip. Day 3 is descent, and an traditional underground BBQ that is a lot of fun! Ours was on a local andean farm and we met the farmer and saw how he lived. Day 4 was Machu Picchu. Buy the extra ticket for one of the mountains behind the main site - yes, more climbing, but the views are SO worth it!

Our guide William and the assistant guide johnner were both brilliant and made the trip fun and engaging for all 10 of us doing the trail. Their energy was infectious and they were extremely accommodating of the different needs of all members of the group.
Given that we were eating on the mountains, they standard of the food was incredible - it was very varied and better than most of the food you would buy in the restaurants in the city. The portion sizes were large and there was always more than enough for all members and then some.
I’m not sure if I would’ve had the same experience if I used another provider so I was very happy with my choice to go with trexperience on this occasion.

I just finished the Inca Trail with TrexPerience and it was the best trekking experience I have ever had. The Guides Pepe and Ali were always ther for us. One always stayed at the back of the groul to make sure no one was left behind and the other went with the front. The information on the inca sites given by Pepe were always very interesting.
The porters and the cooks (groups of pisacs) were outstanding. How they carried the loads is simply amazing. The buffet was amazing every night.
I can totally recommend doing the Inca Trail with Trexperience.

As the Inca trail and the Salkantay trek were closed, this was the third option offered by Trexperience. At first we were a bit disappointed as we really wanted to do Salkantay, but as soon as we started the trek all disappointment disappeared.
This trek is much less touristy, and brings you through some absolutely beautiful scenery. You visit some interesting inca sites, and even though it was rain season, we were lucky with the weather. It was misty sometimes, but this only added to the mysterious atmosfere of the hike.
And then there is the Trexperience team. Our guide Elisban told us the history of the Inca's (vs the Spanish) over a 3 day story full of anticipation and suspense! It was awesome!
The food was awesome, the tents were fine, and we even got a warm water bottle before going to bed. All in all, the service was perfect.
We really enjoyed the hike, and even though we didnt do the 'traditional' hikes, we are sure this hike is at least as much fun and beautiful as the others.
Thanks TreXperienxe, and specifically thanks Elisban!

Jo and Sofie

We had the best time Jose soto and rose led us on a adventure that can’t be put into words.
We had such passion and enthusiasm from both our guides showing us all the archaeological sites and ensuring we truly appreciated the history of the Inca and Quechua history, was a real extra on the tour. The walking was amazing with incredible views and to get such in-depth information only enriched the experience.
The way the porters are treated is magical, they are the real heroes always smiling and welcoming

Mucho mucho wow and no-one left behind!
Pepe and Ali were absolutely phenomenal: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, resourceful, prompt and always smiling. Our Michelin-star chef Raymondo blew us all off every day with the spread for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the afternoon tea for good measure. Porters were ever-present and very helpful but never in the way... Absolutely delight of a trek!
Many thanks!

Cannot say enough good things about this experience thanks to our guides Edy, Nilton, Sharron and the amazing group of porters. Edy especially made the experience special with his deep passion and willingness to share the culture. We can’t imagine anyone else leading our way for the experience! Nilton and Sharron were always helpful and kind with a much appreciated smile on their face after a long, strenuous day. The porters made everything seamless and the food was amazing! We even saw how they professionally handled the most high maintenance guests with ease. Will recommend to anyone -what an amazing 4 days!
