- Road231198151700 contributionsUnforgettable adventure, it’s not easy but it’s worth every steps !I took this Inca Trail Hike to celebrate my Birthday. Our guide Paul, & the crews ( chef and porters ) are the best people that I have met in my life. They were genuinely care to us. I had really hard time with high altitude. I couldn’t sleep the whole journey. I basically had 50% of energy, but Paul patiently accompany me and helped me to carry my back pack. On my Bday, the chef made Bday cake !!! I was so touched, I had happy tears. It’s journey physically, spiritually and emotionally that I won’t forget until my end day.Written 10 December 2024

- DanL4030 contributionsFantastic 4 day hiking experienceThis 4-day hike was a perfect mix of adventure, natural beauty, and cultural learning. The carefully planned route kept things exciting and challenging without being overwhelming. Though we are experienced hikers with multi-day treks, there were beginners in the group who also had a wonderful time. We were met on day 1 by our guide Yiyo (Gigo), who helped us acclimate before the start of the trek on day 2. This was crucial if you are not accustomed to the high altitude of Cusco (13,100 ft). Yiyo was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable, helpful and funny. We learned so much about Inca history and the trail during the rest of the week from him. He made sure every detail was taken care of and also gave us tips for the local area. Day 2 we started the hike, a gradual 6 mile ascent to camp 1 at about 8500ft. When we arrived our tents and campsite were already setup for us, and we met our porters. These guys were simply awesome, and took care of everything. The only thing we had to worry about was unpacking our sleeping bags into our tents. This was a luxury my wife and I had never experienced hiking before, used to doing everything on our own. We also met our chef Mario, who would prepare all the meals for the entire hike. After a long day of hiking you build up an appetite, and the meals Mario put together were delicious. We always went back to our tents happy with full bellies. Day 2 was the most challenging as we hiked up and over Dead Woman’s Pass (13,800ft). It was a tough day but everyone made it, and we thrilled as we arrived at camp 2. The views were beautiful there and along the way. Day 3 was the longest, ending at camp 3. Again we had amazing views, visited ruins along the way, and learned more about the Incas. Here we visited the nearby ruins of Winay Waynu which were stunning and which most tourists will never visit. The last night we broke camp super early so the porters had enough time to pack out everything as they parted to head home. We then waited for daybreak to finish the last part of the hike. At 5:30 the gates opened and we got on the trail, headed to the famous sun gate. Along the way the sunrise was absolutely beautiful, and as we crossed over the Sunday we stopped to admire the stunning view of Machu Picchu a short distance away. A short while later we arrived at Machu Picchu and were in complete awe. Yiyo guided us through, giving us lots of history throughout. Some of us opted to hike Huaynu Picchu (you must buy tickets far in advance!), which was very challenging but provided the best views of the area and is very worthwhile. The classic photos you see are from this peak. To end, I would highly recommend this trip over just taking the train as you will learn much more about the Incas and will see many more beautiful ruins that you won’t see otherwise. This was an epic experience and we left with a lifetime of memories.Written 1 December 2024

- shannonmQ4552UX0 contributionsAn Epic Adventure on the Inca Trail: Unmatched Experience to Machu Picchu!I had an incredible experience on the Inca Trail, completing a four-day hike to Machu Picchu with guides Paul and Freddie. Paul was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, engaging our group with topics that sparked interest and fostering a friendly, humorous atmosphere. He was always attentive to our needs. Each meal was a highlight, meticulously prepared by the chefs, making every dining experience delightful. The exceptional service from the guides and porters set a high standard for future adventures. I highly recommend this trek for anyone seeking a memorable journey.Written 15 November 2024
- F6481QKbrettp0 contributionsAmazing Experience!Had an amazing Inca trail hike with two incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guides: Paul and Freddy. The food prepared by chef Hermino was as delicious as it was energizing. The Inkayni company goes far above and beyond to make their tours special and unforgettable. The porters are superhuman and made this hike possible for a low altitude dweller like me. Big thanks for the great memories!Written 14 November 2024
- evai8020 contributionsUnforgetable, magical experience. This experience was amazing. It was very clear that we're getting more than other groups, and that the guides Paul Cano and Freddy were goldmines of information about history, mythology, vegetation - anything you might want. The food blew our minds every time - Herminio managed to bake a cake and conjure up chef-level food in the Inca Trail conditions. This company is locally-owned, community-focused and cares about their staff, including the porters, in countless ways. If traveling responsibly is a factor for you, this is the one you should choose.Written 14 November 2024

- karenbV5863BP0 contributionsAmazing learning experience!I picked this tour with Paul Cano who I had as a guide in 2022. Paul knows everything there is to know about Machu Picchu. He brings an IPad with pictures to enhance your learning experience. On the Inca trail he could name every plant. My hiking partner was having difficulty with the trail and having balance issues. Paul carried his backpack the entire time and stayed right by his side so that he wouldn’t be injured. Paul definitely went above and beyond for us!Written 3 November 2024

Our visit to Cuzco, Chinchero, Moray and Maras and Machu Pichu was an amazing experience thanks to the guide Julius Caesar “JC” for friends. He explained about the Inca culture and in every place we went he had the patience and cordiality necessary to explain everything to us in detail. We recommend 100% the tour with you as you will have one of the best experiences on your trip.
