About
Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley This tour is one of the most famous attractions in Cusco and the 2nd more visited one after Machu Picchu. This tour gives you the exciting experience on climbing a mountain over 16,000ft, where you will be able to see colourful landscapes, majestic glaciers, amazing and vibrant green valleys with herds of alpaca, the impressive Ausangate mountain range. Also you will experience first-hand how locals live in the mountains and even see them hard at work.
Red Valley: Highly recommended to visit while you are doing the Rainbow Mountain tour, this is an extension and takes 30 minutes more (one way down ). The red valley has an amazing view and it feels like you are in other planet!

- Nickolaj860 contributionsThe best in Cusco!!!My wife and i booked tree tours from this man Herbert and everything was smooth. He was checking up on us everyday and make us feel very satisfied.Written 31 October 2019
- sandravanderzee0 contributionsRainbow mountain and red valleyweWe had a fantastic day going to Rainbow mountain and red valley. We did a private tour and booked only the evening before. You have to be willing to get up very early but that is all worth the while. Breakfast and lunch were excellent, pick up was in time and the guide,Juvenal, was outstanding.Written 7 August 2019
- Jennnifer L0 contributionsRainbow mountain+ red valley tourJerver was amazing!!!!!!!!! We went into the office just to get a quote and he was so informative and patient with us and our questions. He ended up being our tour guide which was awesome, since he was a familiar face and also he made us feel comfortable when we were talking to him back in the office. We did not feel rushed at all during our hike, it was pretty much at our own pace which was nice. You can tell other tour guides around us would rush and make sure they were on schedule. The food they provided was really good too. My boyfriend is a picky eater, and he even found something to eat. Overall, everything was amazing. We would book through Perú Majestic Travel again, as long as Jerver is our tour guide! 100% recommend!Written 29 May 2019
- henaoposada0 contributions1 out of 4 tours badI took 4 tours with this company: 1. City tour from cusco (Carla) 2. Machu Picchu guided tour (victor) 3. Lago humantay (nilton) 4. Valle sagrado (Yanet) The 3 first tours were very good, specially the humantay lake with nilton, he was very nice and did his job very well. Unfortunately the last tour has many places to go and our tour guide and driver were in a hurry all the time, not sure if it was her personality or the tour is just not very well organized. No bathroom stops during the tours, missed half of the explanations because our guide started explaining without waiting for everyone to arrive to the places, the bus driver was very irresponsable, driving very fast and on the left all the time, the bus was very uncomfortable and the worst part is that they charge for lunch 55 soles, we didn’t knew we had no other option and we didn’t take the lunch option, when we got there lunch costed 35soles instead of the 55 soles majestic travel charges for it. Not sure if I would take the tours with them again with that unfortunate experience, hope they do it better because it was all going very well with the first 3 tours.Written 15 April 2019
- Megan C0 contributionsRainbow Mountain/Red Valley + Laguna HumantayThis was a decent company to see the Rainbow Mountain and Laguna Humantay. This is also one of the very few companies I found that goes to the Red Valley, which, if you are going to take the time to see/hike the Rainbow Mountain, you really should not miss the Red Valley because it is right next to it, and it is WAY better to hike back through the beautiful valley as opposed to just retracing your steps. In some ways, the Red Valley is even better than the Rainbow Mountain, but the combination makes it an amazing tour. However, with these tours, I think it is important for you to know what you're getting. All of the companies seem to be like this so just be prepared. You will get picked up at 4am, the breakfast is not anything special (though the lunch is REALLY good actually buffet style), the bus will be as full as possible and it is a 3hr journey there. This is more transport than a "guided" tour. I had guided tours elsewhere and they are really informative and constantly talking to you about the place. The rainbow mountain tour isn't really like that--they are just a means of getting there, really. The guides barely even introduce themselves to you or tell you the plan until a little ways into the trip. I kind of liked that I was on my own. For both Laguna Humantay and Rainbow Mountain, because you are with such a large group, the guide tells those who are faster to go on ahead. So I navigated my way up to the top on both tours basically by myself. I liked this, but some people might not. One downside is you really don't get that much time up there when you reach the top. 30 minutes or so. Most tour companies are like this. They all go at the same time, 4am, and all seem to only be up there for a little bit of time. I wish there were other options. I would have preferred to go later in the day (there is fog in both places in the mornings anyway and seemed to finally clear just as we were leaving, which was a bummer) so that there are less people and so we would have more time. This is a pretty cheap tour though for what you get, so I was overall satisfied. I think it could be better, but right now, there is such a surplus of tours that go to these places that I think the competition makes it tough to stand out as a quality service. I probably would have preferred to hire a private guide to take me here by myself, at the hour that I wanted, so that I could stay as long as I wanted and get a more authentic guided service. Best private guide I had for other services around Cusco and the Sacred Valley is Oscar: gascorth@hotmail.co.uk -- contact him if you want an amazing guide for anything! He also does Rainbow Mountain (though not the Red Valley) and Laguna Humantay, and I did wonder if I would have been better off with him (probably!), who is a true guide. Keep in mind that these hikes are HARD. Rainbow Mountain is hard for the altitude more so than the actual hike itself (steep at the end but that is it; my heart was racing and it was difficult to breathe due to the altitude), while Laguna Humantay, the altitude isn't as bad but the hike is STEEP. Bring snacks and water. BRING TOILET PAPER!!!!! At rainbow mountain, the toilet is actually a hole in the ground you squat over, while the bathrooms are nicer at Laguna Humantay, but always bring TP. Beautiful locations and must seesWritten 29 March 2019
- 8su50 contributionsRainbow MountainsThe tour was really good organised. Jever from the office we booked (Peru majestic travel in Cusco) was very friendly and helpful. He also gave us advices for other trips. The tour itself to rainbow mountains is it really worth! Just the drive is amazing! But of course - you must have luck with the weather. At least one recommendation from us: you should also do the red vally. This is an option for an other way back from rainbow mountain.Written 10 February 2019
- 679nans0 contributionsrainbow mountain and red valley tourFantastic! The agent is very friendly and helpful! They are the only place offer a real red valley tour. Take a walk through the red valley instead of going back the same way you went up to rainbow mountain. You will come back and thank me. And thank everyone in my group! I got very sick on our way back. They were very considerate and took care of me. One of the ladies donated some pills that saved my life. A gentleman switched seats with me. Thank you!Written 8 January 2019
- Gudrun L0 contributionsDon't book with this agency!!We booked a tour to Rainbow Mt. and Red Valley in June via Internet because of the good rating on tripadvisor ... we payed 40$ in advance and filled out the booking form. The guy wrote E-Mail with me (Jerver) and seemed really nice. Three days before the tour date I wanted to check the pick up time etc. But the homepage was not existing anymore!! So i wrote Jerver - he just told me the tour is confirmed. I asked him for more infos - time table, pick up from the hotel? Payment? No response!! The day before the tour we decided to go to the office in Cusco - nobody there! Just a man, he tried to call the agency about 20 mins, then we left. I wrote an E-Mail to Jerver to cancel the tour - same long procedere to get our money back - really really bad service! Please don't choose the agency - we did it then with INKA TIME - and we can really recommend this agency.Written 21 September 2018
- whiteheat0500 contributionsAwesome hike!Found this agency via trip advisor and decided to book due to the good reviews. Lady at the booking office was very friendly and explained everything clearly and the trip followed through as promised! The rainbow mountain is nice to visit but very crowded, however the red valley is a spectacular hike and a must do! The colors are overwhelming and we were the one of two small groups in the valley so I think this is actually one of the few agencies that can be trusted to visit the real red valley.Written 13 August 2018
- jwhatley950 contributionsRainbow Mountain + Red Valley TourThis tour was incredible! Getting up to Rainbow Mountain was a challenge, but the views made it more than worth it. Red Valley was the perfect alternate route and allowed for a break from the heavy tourist load. Breakfast and lunch were delicious and authentic. Our guide, Jerver, was so sweet and patient and never made me feel rushed when I was struggling with the altitude. Booking was straightforward and transportation was reliable and safe. Would definitely recommend this company to a friend!Written 8 August 2018
- Eveline F0 contributionsAmazing experienceWe booked our with Magestic travel agency based off a recommendation from a friend. We really wanted to do the Red Valley, not only the Rainbow Mountain. It is a little bit more expensive but soooo worth it! The food was really good and the guides were super nice! Yoi should definitely book your trip to Rainbow with them!Written 4 August 2018

- Kristyrad0 contributionsAmazing Tour- Rainbow mountain & red valleyI did a tour of Rainbow mountain and red valley with Peru Majestic on Thursday, July 12 and absolutely loved every minute of it. My friend and I were picked up at 4 am from our hotel and treated to a decent breakfast and then a difficult hike to the rainbow mountain. We got on horses after a while and the view was amazing at the top. There are plenty of restrooms but please bring enough water and warm clothing as they gets cold and altitude sickness is a major issue. Once we reached the top, we hiked to the mountain top as horses cannot go there and then hiked down through the red valley (almost no horses are available and 1 restroom half way). My friend got sick on the hike and I was severely dehydrated and ended up hurting my ankle.I finished my water so the guide gave me his water. A guide stayed with each of us until the end. The hot lunch that was served was delicious and they also had decent vegetarian options. I loved the experience and the hospitality and I cannot recommend the tour enough. It was so economical (USD 40) and exceptional customer service.Written 22 July 2018
- Elisabeth H0 contributionsRainbow Mountain and Red ValleyI did the Rainbow Mountain-Tour and the Red Valley Trek with a group of 9 people. It was excellent and I want to recommend it. Our two guides where very attentive and had great information about the landscape. Breakfast and lunch were included and very tasty. Don‘t miss the Red Valley. It is as beautiful as the famous Rainbow Mountain with almost no tourists.Written 22 June 2018
- Chris_Kara0 contributionsAmazing rainbow mountains and red valley tourPerfect communication and Organisation. They picked us up on time at our hotel on the agreed time. Merberth is a fantastic guide who explains a lot if you want and shows you the best spots. Our driver Andrés was driving very safely. We had good breakfast before we started our hike and afterwards an amazing Lunch. Would do the tour with them again. Had an amazing time.Written 20 June 2018

Partenza h4 con pick up all’albergo con bus navetta.
Guida giovane e dinamica parla spagnolo/inglese, molto disponibile.
Giornata indimenticabile!
