About
Salkantay trek 4 days or Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu, is another trail that takes us to Machu Picchu, where we will walk through the Andes to the Quillabamba jungle.
If you do not have enough time you can choose to do this short route of Salkantay trek 4 days, which is the same as the Salkantay trek 5 days, which is the most complete trek. This option is recommended for those adventurers looking for an alternative to the 4-day Machupicchu Inca Trail. During the trek you will enjoy the Humantay Lagoon, the Salkantay snow-capped mountain, glaciers and part of the Cusco jungle.

- 212niallp0 contributionsIncredible experienceOur guide was amazing. Really engaged us through his energy and knowledge of the history. Despite it being one of the busiest days of the year it was pretty uncrowded when we were up there. All the transport ran so smoothly and would recommend this package as there are numerous connection that we didn't have to worry about organising ourselves. Had the most amazing time.Written 26 August 2024
- rsblaines0 contributions⭐️ EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE ⭐️Our Tour was on August 16, 2024 - We had the most AMAZING experience!!! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Carina who orchestrates your tour from behind the scenes (provides your communication, putting together tour, etc…) - Carina is a GEM (“TY”) 💖 Now regarding the Machu Picchu experience - Absolutely Top Notch!!! From the moment we got picked up from our Airbnb, to the luxury a/c bus, the lovely train ride and our personal Tour Guide, Cosme ~ We felt like royalty ALL day, being guided and watched over by everyone involved 💞 We booked through Viator, which then the service was turned over to Aremika Travel ~ I HIGHLY recommend Aremika Travel ~ Professional all the way!!! * TIPS: Don’t forget your bug spray - the mosquitoes are VICIOUS!!! 😜 Also, ate a VERY good buffet lunch after the tour at, Toto’s House (approximately $25 usd) - includes beverage - Very reasonable for the great food and service 😋 And, either wear sunscreen or have a good protective hat - the sun is a scorcher ☀️ And, take it ALL in and enjoy every minute ⛰️ 🙏Written 22 August 2024
- Melissa H0 contributionsGreat tour of Machu PicchuThis tour was everything I hoped it would be, & I'm so glad I trusted Amerika Tours with seeing my 5th World Wonder! I took the tour with my adult daughters, & it was an awesome experience.. Amerika is so thorough when communicating tour details, & what to expect. Leaving from Cusco (city center), expect to leave early in the morning, & be prepared to take a 4 hour train ride to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu city). A guide will greet you upon arrival to explain the remainder of your route... This includes a 1/2 hour bus ride to the sanctuary. Upon arrival, we met our tour guide Alibeth, & off we went!! The tour itself lasted about 2 - 3 hours, & thank goodness we had Alibeth.. She was so friendly, kind, knowledgeable, & professional. In addition she was super patient, & encouraging when the hike became a bit too challenging for me. We were did Circuit 2 of the tour, & the views were awesome.. An awesome day for me, & my daughters + now I've had the pleasure of seeing 5 World Wonders - Thank you Alibeth, & Amerika Tours Peru!!Written 20 August 2024
- X9717UJjackiem0 contributionsBeautiful, Breathtaking tour. Great tour company. They do all the planning for you. just show up to your pick up site.First, great tour company. Very communicative and informative. Very early pick up from Cusco (4am)Drive to the town was a good 2 hours ride to the train station. Easy to check in and take the train. Train ride was over an hour. Comfortable, beautiful view. Once at Machu Picchu town, it was not as organized. Someone calls your name and takes you to where you have to take the buses up to the entrance to the site. They take your picture send to your tour guide. Once at the entrance, you hang around for your tour guide to find you. It’s timed, so you cannot miss your entrance time. Wish I remembered our tour guide name. He was funny, knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Took great pictures and took his time. Was not rushed at all. Once you see the site, it takes your breath away. Bucket list destination. Just pure amazed by it all. Everything was all timed. Pick up, drop off. Train, bus entrance. This tour made it so easy for me and my family to see Machu Picchu. I don’t know if i could’ve done all the planning it takes on my own. Again, great tour company!!!Written 17 August 2024
- 549igord0 contributionsGreat experience, stress free, that you really enjoyOur guide Elizabeth was amazing, she gave us all the time we needed to appreciate the beauty of the site and answered all our questions. She also helped us take beautiful family pictures. We had great communication before, during and after with the tour organizers. They made sure we had a great experience and did not have to stress about anything. Machu Picchu is so beautiful and we really enjoyed doing circuit #2. Next time we want to add the climb to Huayna Picchu to make the experience even more complete. Even though in the 2 1/2 hour circuit there is a lot to see and appreciate already.Written 15 August 2024
- alvinzievinger0 contributionsThe info and attention to personal guidance during our 10 private trip was exceptional. So we got via friends the name of Aremika travel. We had some clue what we wanted to visit in Peru, but not all. This was our 1st visit to Peru. They managed to arrange a 10 day tour starting from Lima to Nazca, Cusco and back to Lima in less than 5 days after 1st contact. The personal attention during the trip and guidance was exceptionally. Remember everything was arranged through whatsapp. We didn't meet them in person until we got to Cusco, after we had been several days in Peru traveling already doing several tours. This was a private tour for my family of 5. They arranged everything from pickup and drop-off to/from the airport/bus station/train station, Not to forget pickup from the hotels for the tours, some even including breakfast and/or lunch and Entrance fee and if not included this was indicated before hand including the costs. I'm person which typically arrange everything myself. But I cannot show the gratitude enough for there managing/guidance skills during our 10 day trip in Peru. I really do recommend check them out when you want to visit Peru. We didn't do all, so we need to go back to do the remainder. 1 Tip, If you are not custom to high altitudes, do take 1 extra free day while in Cusco to adjust, some of the tours are very beautiful but can be very heavy due to the high altitudes.Written 10 August 2024
- juella k0 contributionsSatisfied and beautiful placeImpressive, beautiful, all well arrange. Teavel agent give us tips how to wear, what to bring and how the tour will be. The day before each tour we get information how we need to prepare.Written 10 August 2024
- juellak0 contributionsNatureThe weather was cold, but nice. I loved it. Amazing viewsss. It was definitely not easy. It kept was very active and definitely worth itWritten 10 August 2024
- elStrockito0 contributionsDefinitely worth it!Pictures don’t do this trip justice. Machu Picchu is a MUST experience and the Machu Picchu Full Day tour is totally worth it. It went smooth from pick up in early hours of the morning from drop off in the evening. The bus and train rides were all part of the experience and the waiting in lines but it was all worth it once you arrive up at the mountain and start the tour. Our guide was great as well! Definitely glad we went with TripAdvisor’s recommendation on this.Written 8 August 2024
