Lima Cooking Class with a Local Family
From US$74.00
Overview
Peruvian cuisine incorporates exotic ingredients from the land and sea, with ancient recipes handed down through the generations. On this Lima cooking class, delve into the world of Andean cookery and enjoy an immersive experience away from the tourist trail. Browse fresh ingredients in the bustling food markets with your guide, and prepare delicious dishes the traditional way with your hosts in a local family home.
What to Expect
Make your way to the stylish neighborhood of Miraflores in the afternoon, and meet your guide to begin your Peruvian cookery experience.

First, head to the local food markets and rub shoulders with the locals as you browse the fresh produce on sale. As you explore with your guide, gain insight into the fruits, spices, and vegetables that have made their mark on traditional Andean cuisine and make any purchases you wish (own expense).

Next, hop aboard a public bus and head onward to a local home in the nearby neighborhood of Chorrillos for your cookery class. On arrival, meet your hosts and feel like a true Peruvian chef as you set to work.

Under careful guidance from your host, chop, slice, and dice your fresh, exotic ingredients and prepare a traditional ceviche (a seafood speciality enjoyed across Peru). Discover traditional recipes handed down through the generations and enjoy an immersive experience far from the tourist trail.

Shake up a traditional Pisco Sour cocktail and enjoy your food among your fellow chefs. Afterward, wave a fond farewell to your hosts to conclude your cooking experience.
