What to expect
The tour starts at 9:00am or 2:30pm, depending of the turn chosen. The route starts and finishes on the office and is in charge of a professional and prepared gastronomic guide. In addition, there is a security personal who is in charge of the safety of the tourist during the route. We have two routes, in case of Miraflores the first stop is in “El Chinito” Huarique, where we can taste a diversity of a typical breakfast of Peruvian coast people. Then, we continue to the San Isidro market. On the road the guide will talk about the Kennedy park history, the Larco family, Jose Pardo and the gastronomic history while we ride by the cycling road of the pier. Arrived on the market the tourist could taste fresh Peruvian fruits. The next stop is in “El Rincon del Bigote” seafood and “Cremoladas Curich” where the tourist will taste a big variety of fruit flavours typical from Peru. Finishing in Curich we go to the Love park. Coming back to the office, we end with the route with a delicious appetizer. In Barranco the tour starts with the Surquillo market where the guide talks about the factors and changes that suffer the formal markets nowadays after the Spanish people and the tourist could taste fresh Peruvian fruits. Our second stop is in “La Florentina” ice cream located outside the market boulevard where can enjoy different flavors of artisanal ice creams made with typical fruits and rare flavors like albahaca, palta, aji, etc. Continue to Barranco and stops in “Café Tostado” where the tourist can taste popular and traditional food (Sancochado, pato a la naranja, camote frito, frejoles, etc). Then we go to taste seafood in “Mi Peru” famous specially for “Caldo de Cangrejo”. The guide will talk about the pre-Hispanic and the colon’s which bring new ingredients and culinary techniques from Europe and Asia. After these restaurants we go to the principal Barranco square where we can visit the bright of sights, a traditional tavern named “Juanito” where the tourist can take photos. Finishing this tour, we continue by the Barranco pier returning to Miraflores and eat a delicious appetizer on the office. This experience will allow to learn about the big variety of ingredients from the coast, highlands and the jungle. With this, the tourist could make sure why Lima is now considering the new capital of the gastronomy in the Americas.

A couple of things to improve on...
Aug 2019
My partner and I did agree at the end of the tour that we enjoyed it but there were things we'd hoped would have been better. We appreciated that we were able to move the tour to the next day at short notice due to travel changes and that they ran the tour for just the two of us. But we weren't told we'd have a guide who didn't speak English and needed an interpreter with us (maybe this was always going to be the case though). Both were lovely people but it would have been better if we could have chatted with the guide during the bike ride. The interpreter couldn't answer many of our local questions himself as wasn't a local.

Another disappointing thing was that we were expecting a gastronomy and bike tour (vegan tour as offered on the company's website) but it felt like a bike tour with some food stops. Neither guide or translator were vegan and we barely had any conversation about food. When we sat for lunch we were just encouraged to get eating - we had to ask what it was we were about to eat and whether it was traditional and create some conversations about local food. The posters on the walls of the restaurant gave more info about local food than what our guide shared with us.

Also, when we got to the market for fruit tasting most of the stalls were closed probably because it was Sunday and close early. We still enjoyed our ceviche and some fruit because one stall was still open to provide us a selection of fruits, but we imagine the market would have had a better vibe and would have seen more local food variety if we'd come earlier in the day.

We enjoyed the bike riding, all the food we tried especially the ice cream of local flavours, and appreciated the friendliness of all staff involved. We just think we would have gotten more out of it if we spoke Spanish and weren't vegan.

Hopefully this feedback is helpful to improve the tour for future.

My wife and I took this tour and were very disappointed. The first couple of hours were ok as we tried food from 4 places and our guide was good and knowledgeable. However, following this we spent three hours riding around and did not sample anymore food. We rode from Miraflores to Barranco, heard some history and then rode back to Miraflores without sampling any food. This is despite the tour description listing several things to try in Barranco, and other things in Miraflores that we were not taken too. It turned out to be more of a history than a food tour. I did write to the company before leaving a bad review to work this out, but I only received a glib, disinterested brush-off so I have no choice.

Great way to see Lima
Dec 2018 • Friends
We thoroughly enjoyed our ride with our guide Elsa. A relaxed pace with interesting stops at some unique out of the way places. Saw parts of the city we would have never found on our own. The food we sampled was local, fresh, and delicious. Elsa was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Awesome bike tour through the best parts of Lima
Apr 2018 • Couples
Great tour with Mario to the best Hole-in-the-Wall cafes and interesting corners in the Miraflores and San Isidro neighborhoods of Lima. The bike tour was primarily on designated bike paths and safe routes through traffic.

The morning food at the cafe and the helado (ice cream) was excellent. And the San Isidro mercato - awesome!

Many thanks to Mario for the excellent tour!

Great trip around Lima!
May 2016 • Couples
My husband and I wanted to explore Lima before our trek to Machu Picchu and thought a bike tour was the perfect way to do it. Mario was our tour guide and was great! The tour itself was about 4hrs and was a bit of a food tour as well as it stopped at traditional restaurants around town where you could sample the food. I especially liked the tour of the food market and was amazed to see so many beautiful fruits and vegetables. Highly recommend this tour group.

"A must do when visiting Lima Peru"
Feb 2016 • Friends
I did the Miraflores tour riding a bike around Miraflores and exploring the lifestyle, the ocean's view, parks, monuments, outside market, and mainly stopping at different small restaurants and trying delicious authentic Peruvian dishes. The tour includes a tour guide that gives you a background about the Peruvian culture and about different Peruvians foods and it lasts approximately 4 hours. The tour guides were amazing and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour:)
