What to Expect

The highlights of this tours include taking a speedboat out to the Ballestas Islands to see penguins and sea lions in their natural habitat. This activity takes place in Paracas.  A visit to Paracas National Reserve, one of the biggest protected deserts in the Americas which offers incredible views of the desert meeting the ocean. Exclusive tour of underground secret slave tunnels in Chincha. 17km of tunnels used to traffic slaves in the 17th Century.


Itinerary:

5:15am - 6:00am:
Pick up at your hotel or hostel in Lima.

6am – 10am:
Direct bus to Paracas, a beautiful small town by the sea.

10am – 12pm:
2-hour boat tour of the Ballestas Islands. The Ballestas are a smaller version of the Galapagos, but just as great, where you’ll see sea lions, penguins and lots of birds all in their natural habitat.

2:30pm – 4:30pm:
Tour of Paracas National Reserve – one of South America’s biggest protected desert reserves. Stunning Pacific coastline where desert meets ocean.

6:30pm – 7:30pm:
Secret Slave Tunnels in Chincha – Take a tour in the beautiful estate of the Haciendo San Jose and go into its hidden labyrinth of underground tunnels used to illegally smuggle African slaves in the 17th century.

7:30pm – 11:45pm:
Bus back to Lima. You will be dropped off at your hotel/hostel.
