The tour allowed us to see different parts of the city for which a car is needed. Besides the main part, the tunnel, we also saw different important buildings, streets, and places. Having Nerim as a guide, who himself lived in Sarajevo during the siege, gave us the opportunity to hear all the stories and ask questions.
Sometimes it would have been nice to stop at certain spots and take a picture. Besides that it was great!

A very thought provoking and insightful tour with a veteran of the war, who not only witnessed the events of 1,425 days of siege, but lived and endured each one. If you want to gain a better understanding of the reasons for the war, the rationale for the siege, as well as something of what it was like for the inhabitants this is an excellent way to begin. Our guide started with an overview of the city from the Yellow Fort, then through the city centre, the flash points, "sniper alley" and front lines, to the remaining stretch of the hand dug Tunnel under the airport runway that was the only logistical supply line for much of the siege, all the while explaining what it was like for the inhabitants as they tried to live as best they could under the deprevations of war, without running water, electricity or proper medical facilities. The Tunnel area includes a video presentation of its construction and use as well as an exhibit of original articles, many improvised, that were used to dig it and others from the period that demonstrate life for the city inhabitants.

The trip spanned many regions of the city and included a lot of details both general and very specific and personal from the guide Nermin. I always felt as if the tour was not just a rehearsed script (like so many others tend to be) but instead a personal conversation with someone who was really attached to the events, which is a rare treat to have in such a tour.
I would highly recommend this tour and the guide Nermin to anyone who would like to have a frank and honest discussion of the events surrounding the fall of Yugoslavia and the siege that occurred in Sarajevo and how it intimately effected the residents within it.

We avoid tours, but in order to see the war tunnel and get an idea of the overall geography of the war we thought this tour would be helpful. Our guide was a retired fireman who knew personally some of the men who dug the tunnel. There were just the two of us on the tour so we could ask questions and visit while driving around the city. The route of the tour is to drive all around the edge of the city, viewing the various places from which the Serbian army shelled the city, places that were shelled, cemeteries where the victims were buried, and the tunnel.

Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time and for writing this review. Sometimes smaller groups are better since you have more time to talk to your guide and ask different questions. We'd love to have you back in the city and maybe see you on another of our tours ? Best wishes, Insider Team

Our guide was excellent and we learned a huge amount about this terrible period of history over the three hours. Was a real highlight of the trip to Bosnia!

Dear, Thank you for taking some time to write a review. The Bosnian war is a tough subject to talk about, although we do are doing our best to send great guides who will be available to explain such a subject. See you next time in Sarajevo. Insider Team

We did this with Nermin from Insider Tours.
A major eufemism, the name of this tour, when you read and hear (again) about the atrocities in the early 90's
Not for the faint hearted but a must for visitors to Sarajewo as it such a major part of the city's history.
Nermin is a passionate guide who wants to show you all that he himself and Sarajewans of the time went through. Especially the Tunnel of Hope and it's story made a major impression. We are very glad we did this, thank you Nermin!!

Dear, We will share your opinion with our guide Nermin. He was one of many people fighting for saving our city and therefore his personal story is so interesting. Combining his knowledge with experience makes this tour one of a kind. Best wishes, Insider Team

We went on the tour and our guide, Nermin, was extremely knowledgeable and we were very pleased with the information he provided during the tour and the personal experiences he shared with us. We were very happy we went with this particular tour, even though we are not your typical "tour" people. We tend to prefer to investigate places on our own but the firsthand knowledge provided by our guide was something we could not have come across on our own. Highly recommend it.
