About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 734aland0 contributionsWonderful experience to see three countries in one day. Great service too. This was a highlight of our time in Bulgaria, in fact probably the highlight. The trip was wonderful, taking in a mainly Bulgarian town (Bosilegrad) in a remote mountainous part of Serbia, and the Osogovski monastery in North Macedonia. We enjoyed our time with our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide and driver Georgi, who went out of his way to accommodate us. The price seemed a little high when I booked, but it was certainly worth it as just about everything in the trip was included. We also enjoyed a lovely coffee shop in Bosilegrad and a fantastic restaurant just outside the town of Kriva Palanka (close to the monastery), although usually the lunch is at the monastery (it was closed the day we went, but we loved the alternative venue). Even the border crossings add a sense of uncertainty and adventure to the trip. Based on this experience I would certainly book another tour with V Travel.Written 2 November 2024
- alisonrM2071TR0 contributionsGood introduction to Serbia! Nis is v interesting.Good day out of Sofia to get a quick introduction to Croatian history & more of the Balkans. Ivan our driver-guide was an excellent communicator who enthusiastically regaled us with information & answered all questions. The van was comfortable; attention was paid to our needs. We saw loads of interesting things.Written 24 October 2024
- N1564OUaliceh0 contributionsLovely day trip from SofiaThe monastery was absolutely beautiful. The drive to get there also had lovely scenery. We only spent 30/40 minutes there, but that was enough. We then went to a restaurant that served very nice traditional food. The spa was a lovely end to the day. It could do with some refurbishing but was a relaxing spot.Written 22 October 2024
- dagmar19570 contributionsLong dayThe meeting point was hard to find,no number to orient by.They should weight it is next to moskee and opposite Mac Donald. But we had driver Stefan, very good driver, friendly and service minded.Skopje is beautiful town, lots of culture and art.Go for it!But the best is ask for pick up at your hotel.Written 13 October 2024
- WayfaringLibertarian0 contributionsUnreliable and unresponsive tour companyIf you plan to book a trip with this company, I suggest you do so at your own risk. If you look at their reviews for their various trip offerings, you will see that they have a pattern of canceling at the last minute. If you decide to give them a chance (like I did) and run to into any issues with your booking or have any questions for them - don’t expect to get a response. I wish I had just paid an additional $30 for this day trip and booked with a competitor. I suppose that $30 might have gotten me professionalism and responses to my inquiries.Written 2 October 2024
- Traveljunkievn0 contributionsCancelled by operator the night before without explanation or optionOperator cancelled the night before without explanation or option. Book at your own risk. I had a plan B but be aware - very unreliable. This may explain the lack of reviews for this tour.Written 27 September 2024
- alledodi0 contributionsCanceled the evening beforeThey canceled the evening before the trip, without saying the reason. I suspect it’s not even about bad weather cause they didn’t propose another dayWritten 14 September 2024
- 508nadezhdam0 contributionsUnreliable service providerThe trip was canceled last moment although it was booked well in advance. The operator excused themselves with the grape picking season :o. "Because it was the grape picking season the winery they partnered with could not offer the wine tasting." :-0. As if grape picking happened by surprise and could not be planned accordingly. Or the one hour wine tasting would jeopardise the whole harvesting. No other options were offered to compensate for the inconvenience. Unreliable service provider.Written 11 September 2024
- jessikatiffany0 contributionsBook with cautionTour was canceled by the tour operater in the afternoon the day before the arranged departure time. I was given and no alternative date. Book with a plan B in mind.Written 8 September 2024
- Getaway032168124880 contributions一日で、充実した素晴らしいツアーでした!💕It was such a great day! Our guide, Philippe, was very kind and always helpful to us Japanese people. He also explained the history of Serbia in an easy-to-understand way. wherever I wanted to go and it was a very satisfying day!
- norbertp6250 contributionsDay tripIt was a small group so more questions.Kristof was a good guide, we had a lot of fun. The area is nice and one day is just good enough to visit. The rocks are nice and the cave it cool. Don't forget to bring a hoodie.Written 8 July 2024
- NorthStar663850 contributionsBulgaria in 12 DaysWe recently completed the Bulgaria Grand Tour in 12 days (including Black Sea) and had an amazing time. The itinerary provided a wonderful overview of many areas of the country, We especially loved the mountains, which were incredibly beautiful and the people who lived there warm and welcoming. There are many UNESCO sites (ancient ruins, monasteries, churches, tombs) we were able to visit. Many people do not realize how much history and beauty Bulgaria has to offer until they go to visit. We had two guides/drivers for 6 days each who were incredible. They gave us detailed information about the various places we visited, provided excellent restaurant suggestions, and added additional interesting stops to our itinerary when there was time. This trip was well worth the cost and would recommend it or one of the shorter trips to anyone who plans on visiting BulgariaWritten 10 June 2024
- 172serenah0 contributionsBy far the most well organised trip I have ever done.I was a little apprehensive to begin with as it was just my daughter and I going on this trip and I was worried about not knowing where we were being picked up from or what to expect when we got to Macedonia. I needn’t have worried at all. This was by far the most well organised trip I have ever done. We was sent a full itinerary and a google maps link to our pick up point. Our driver was exactly where he should be and was expecting us. Our driver was really friendly and helpful. Our minibus was very comfortable and our driver was happy to do as many stops as we wanted. He explained to us fully before we set off what to expect from the day. He took care of dealing with the border crossing and even got our passports stamped for us. He handed us over to another guide when we arrived in Macedonia so we knew exactly what we was doing and who we was going with. Our walking tour of Macedonia took in all the sights you’d want to see and we were told lots of the history. We knew exactly where to meet our driver to return to Bulgaria and again on our return trip our driver was happy to stop whenever we wanted and took care of all of our passports at passport control. Travelling can sometimes be a little daunting especially when it’s just you and your daughter but I have literally never felt in safer hands than I did on this trip. 5*s all around. Bear in mind it is a long day out and it is a long journey. But it is so worth it to get the opportunity to combine two countries on one holiday.Written 29 May 2024
- rebeccatL9089CX0 contributionsHighly recommend the trip.It was an excellent trip. Worth the many hours of travel. Highly recommended. The vehicle was a bit small to accomodate all the passengers especially those who sit with man spread style. The guides were kind, attenuative and knowledgeable. Great discussions on issues or questions raised. The landscape is beautiful.Written 9 March 2024
- 954deidrec0 contributionsFun and safe day trip to SkopjeGreat trip. Very long day. Some travellers made us over an hour late to get to city so we were quite rushed and limited for the tour there. Our border crossing was on the average side-- this can also affect your arrival times --we were lucky. The local guide in Skopje did his best with the shortened time he had. We did take ample time for a quaint sit down lunch. Phillip, the main guide, was a safe driver, helpful, knowledgeable and talkative. We even stopped quickly to see a famous monastery on our return trip. Experienced a beautiful sunset there! I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Hindsight -- I would have loved to spend two days in Skopje and maybe see the nearby lakes. Next time!Written 5 November 2023

Booked a private tour with V Travel , tour guide was excellent very friendly &’very informative. The tour was a hike to Stob pyramids & Rila Monastery , both throughly enjoyable. I arrived in Bulgaria with zero knowledge about its history & left with enough to write a short thesis.
Thank you to the driver.
