AVOID: was scammed here. On arrival we were told the deposit is €1550 instead of the initial 600. We received a car full of scratches. We took pictures of everything, and made sure it was indicated in the contract. Afterwards we saw that our version did not have any indication. When we returned it they told us everything was fine, we even signed an empty transfer document and 2 days later we get a picture of an already existing scratch and a bill for the full deposit, together with the indicated damages added to the transfer document. On top the deposit was withheld twice from our credit card. The pictures show that the state the car was in when we got them and what was indicated on our side of the contract.

MAFIA! Easy Rent Bulgaria is officially run scam business. Without full insurance, they will withhold your deposit, citing damages that match the security deposit amount. They don’t inform you of these damages when you return the car. In my experience, they assured me everything was fine upon return. Days later, instead of my deposit, I received an invoice for 1800 BGN. When I called, they insisted that, due to my lack of insurance, I had to pay for damages they claimed to have found, even though the car was returned in the same condition and no damages were noted at the time. Avoid this company unless you don’t mind losing your deposit. Additionally, the car was in poor condition, with over 70,000 km on it. Multiple warning lights came on, and I had to service it myself as advised by customer service. This was not how I envisioned spending my vacation. If you don't have full insurance, they will not return your deposit and come up with damages on the car for the exact amount of the security deposit. The worst part is that they don't tell you about the damage at the time of returning the car. In my case, they told me it's all good when returning the car. A few days later, instead of receiving my deposit back, I got an invoice for the exact amount of the deposit - 1200 BGN (685 USD). I called them and they reiterated couple of times that since I didn't have insurance, I have to cover for the damages that they found, although the car was returned in exactly the same condition and they didn't indicate any damages at the time of returning the vehicle. Avoid this company at all cost, unless you don't care about the deposit. Last but not least, the car was a piece of crap. It had over 70k km on it, multiple lights came on and I had to service it myself as advised by the customer service. Not how imagined to spend vacation time. I hope this helps. Worst rent a car company ever ! Will never use your services again ! Rude and not friendly staff, dirty and broken cars. Don't feel safe when driving as the suspension was knocking badly, brakes were squeaking and vibrating when braking and the car wouldn't stop. Absolutely horrible service ! AVOID USING THEM !

This is a scam! They claim the damages to the rented car, which were not there and charge you for them failing to provide any valid proof.

The car was scuffed and cracked on pretty much all sides. But, the problem was that Easy Rent do not understand that taking a deposit requires putting the funds on hold. Instead, they take a payment, then refund a payment. You get fleeced twice and it costs an extra 30% on the hire, just because they are incompetent. And, wouldn't listen

Car was ok. Hard upsell for insurance at the till, but real problem is with the deposit. Desk took 3000 Lev (GBP1300) from my credit card. I'm now told I have to wait 28 working days post return to get this back. Wasn't informed at the time. Rental cars.com (agent, part of Booking.com) don't want to know. Avoid - unless you are happy to have them enjoy your money for 28 working days after your holiday

AVOID!!! We booked a car, paid for it in advance, they asked for Master Credit card when we were there to pick up car which ai don’t have (they don’t accept Amex, or any Debit card, HAS TO BE Master Credit Card!!!) They promised I’ll get my money back in 20 working days, never got it, tried calling them, either no answer or they put the phone down!

The company is pure fraud, please avoid renting car here. I returned a car with same conditions as rented. I parked it carefully on private parkings for a week. During return, the guy told me that everything is okey and asked for a card to return deposit. In fact i paid second 1600bgn. Day after they send a damage declaration which was filled out. We used their service in June, the office is located in the airport and the service was fast and efficient, we got free upgraded to the next category car and we didn’t have any problems at all, the deposit was returned to us 2 days after the rental

Car was a downgrade and had no MOT so we were fined as a result - we were told that they will pay the fine as its their responsibility but 20 days later it's still not been paid. Same as our deposit - over £500 and I'm still waiting for it (I guess I'll be paying the interest myself). Do not use this company

Beware: Deposit theft! They refused to refund my deposit and claim there was cigarette ash on the floor and that I smoked in the car. This is a straight lie. I have not smoked in 15 years! Disputing the transaction with my credit card company.

Consider this your WARNING!!!!! After someone checked out our car and we paid and left , we are being charged 600$ for smoking in the car! I even said as we checked out I think we are the only people in Bulgaria who don’t smoke. Take videos of inside + outside so you have proof ! Left a real bad taste about Bulgaria. Also, it wouldn’t kill you to crack a smile at your customers.
