- nikolayt5420 contributionsA cozy spot to enjoy wine tastingI went to Tempus Vini for the wine tasting. It was a very pleasant experience. The owner of the shop lead the wine tasting. It was very interesting to learn about the different wines made in Bulgaria and the regions which grow the best grapes for a specific wine. He had selected 6 wines to taste which to me were very unique in their taste and smells. I enjoyed it very much and suggest it to wine lovers.Written 25 August 2024

- 387salvadorp0 contributionsObligatory stop for wine loversKalin, the founder of this wine store in Sofia, is a true wine expert who provides a thorough and comprehensive immersion into Bulgaria’s fascinating wine-making history. Kalin offered us a 6-wine tasting session with excellent options, including wines he made himself and others that are nearly unknown outside Bulgaria. This is a must stop if you love wine or simply want to understand more about what Bulgaria offers its international visitors.Written 2 February 2024
- Jared G0 contributionsGood solo wine tasting experienceDid the wine tasting, great experience. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Walked through the history of wine in bulgaria. Was provided with local cheeses and salami. Tasting consists of 6 wines. 3 were of his store's brand, which I found to be the best. Good prices on wine and has bubble wrap for travellers. This was such a wonderful experience! The wines were really good, and it felt really special to try wines Kalin had made himself as well as limited edition wines. He shared lots of interesting information about the history of Bulgarian wines and how this has changed over the years.
If you’re UK based, pay for a check in bag so you can bring all the wine you want home, if I visit Bulgaria again I’ll be 100% going it! The atmosphere is really great as well, it’s a nice small group and Kalin did a great job of explaining each wine, leaving room for everyone to taste and discuss and socialise, we all got to know each other very well by the end of the sitting! The cheeses were delicious too! A great way to kickstart your evening in Sofia.
Thank you Karin! :)

We had an amazing experience at Tempus Vini Wine Point. The owner was really welcomming, friendly and passionated about his products. He gave us a really well structured introduction into the Bulgarian wine industry and the different regions and grapes. We tasted unique Bulgarian wines, which were definitely worth the money with on the side delicious different types of local cheeses and sausages. I would really recommend this experience for people who don't have any knowledge of wine, and as well for people who are experienced with wines. During the experience the owner was able to provide all the information and answer all the questions we had.

We were 4 friends who visited Kalin (owner/host) in his small fine wine shop for wine tasting.
It was totally cozy and really some great wines we tasted with light but delicious accessories - cheese, bread and olives👍
Kalin is really skilled and has a lot of knowledge that he shares.
The wines were surprising and top notch.
We bought 4 boxes of wine that Kalin had sent to Denmark - fair price
Can definitely recommend a visit and will come again myself next time I'm in Sofia

This was a great experience. Very small group with 6 very different wines to try, two of which were made by our guide!
Accompanying cheese provided too.
The wine we tried was all for sale in the shop after for around 17€ max per bottle so would definitely recommend!

Local and authentic wine tasting in the heart of Sofia! We sampled 6 Bulgarian wines, 3 of which were made by Kalin the wine tasting Host! The wines were delicious and it was a good mix of grape variety! We had a very generous local Bulgarian cheese board to share which was the perfect accompaniment. Kalin was a passionate and knowledgable host. We booked our tasting on the day and Kalin was extremely helpful and provided great communication about our booking. Our hosting was held in a conference room as the tasting group was too big for the tasting to take place in the shop which was my only negative, as it was quite a modern and clinical venue. We went to visit Kalin’s shop afterwards which was beautiful and authentic! Thank you for a memorable and interesting experience during our stay in Sofia!

A group of 7 on a wine weekend to Bulgaria, we were so pleased to meet Kalin and attend his tasting. His wine knowledge is clearly very good and he is very experienced and professional at hosting tastings. We learnt a lot about Bugarian wines and history and tried some really good examples. Shame we only had hand luggage so couldn't buy anything.

Sir has real knowledge about the wines and first starts with the history of all wines throughout the country. He had a lot to say about this and was very nice to learn. I myself only had one wine tasting and also told me how to recognize the flavors and how to taste wine properly. On the table was really a lot of cheese and a little meat. We didn't even eat this but was also very tasty. In total we tasted 6 wines of which four were his own. I sincerely recommend it to anyone who is or wants to become a Fine Dining Fan and who is in Sofia.

I must say that this place, is a very little hidden pearl in the heart of Sofia.
The owner of the place gives the best story of Bulgarian produced wine.
The wine-tasting combined with the cheese, was just excellent. We could even get some of the wine shipped home to our country.
The owner replies really fast on his e-mail, so it was very easy to book a private wine-tasting, and it was worth every dime.

We booked the wine tasting session ahead of our trip to Sofia. The first impression of this quaint business was fantastic as Kalin messaged me back promptly to confirm our booking for Monday evening. Excellent first impressions.
On Monday myself and my wife had a thoroughly enjoyable wine tasting session. Kalin was a fantastic host and he shared some information with us about the history of Bulgarian wine making and about the wines that we tasted. In total we tried 6 different Bulgarian wines. We had our favourites however they were all unique and were very nice. The snacks (cheese and bread sticks) were a great compliment. At the end of the session we purchased a bottle of our favourite wine (an orange wine produced by Kalin) - the prices of the wines were all considerably cheap compared to UK standards. There was no pressure to make a purchase however we wanted to support Kalin's lovely business.
This is a fantastic small business tucked away in downtown Sofia. If you love wine and are planning to visit this lovely city, make sure this wine tasting is top of your list. Thank you to Kalin for a lovely evening.

Kalin did an excellent job explaining the history of Bulgarian wines to me during my wine tasting visit. He shared the country’s grape growing regions while walking me through 6 different tastings. The wines and the cheeses paired with the wines were delicious. I’m particularly partial to Mavrud and this did not disappoint. Thank you to Kalin for an enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Sofia.
