It was a nice tour including visits to the Ceausescu Palace and the Parliament Building. The Travelmaker Guide, Ms. Laura Boeriu picked us up from hotel and drove to the aforementioned places. Then we made a walk to see the building where Nicolae Ceausescu made his ultimate speech at the balcony, the Potatoe Statue and the Square of Revolution. It was very impressive to listen the story of Romanian Communist Period. Our guide was very friendly and helpful. I recommend you to take such an interesting trip in Bucharest.

Our tour guide, Laura Boeriu, was great. She was waiting for us in our hotel lobby at the scheduled time. She flexed her schedule to meet some emergent requirements that we had. She was able to arrange a last-minute place in the Parliament tour, which was an important way to appreciate the government at the time that it was being built. Our tour was quite interactive, as her explanations led to questions, and we were able to learn quite a lot. As the tour was nearing an end near our hotel (Hilton), we collectively decided that a narration of what could be seen from the terrace outside the Hilton Executive Lounge would help us to appreciate the neighborhood and the last days of the communist regime. It turned out to be a great decision, both because it provided an excellent vantage point, and also because Laura took the opportunity and time to paint a very vivid picture of what the last couple days were like in Bucharest.

We did know what to expect, but we wanted to learn more about Communism since we have studied it at university for many years. Our Valentin Paun was excellent - very informative, who gave us the fact and let us decide if good or bad! It was a fantastic tour, where it was possible to exchange and share comments. Congratulations!

Dear Francois, Thank you for your kind remarks. I hope you found out that Romania needs to be experimented not just read about and from the right sources, also not everybody here is a "commy". If you really enjoyed, I'm waiting for your next visit so we can explore more. All the best from Romania, Valentin

A really small group tour of some key Bucharest sites related to the fall of communism. Lots of interesting facts from out guide Valentin. Fascinating trip to the house of ceausescu. Whilst no visit inside parliament (no tickets available until July apparently) we did visit the cemetery where the Ceausescu’s are buried.

Hi there, Thank you very much for taking the time for leaving such a beautiful review of our Last Days of Communism tour. When we created this tour, we thought we should include all the sites related to the Communism period. It is a sad story indeed but we think that history is simply fascinating, so the aim of this tour is to follow the story of Communism Romania from the beginning, to hear the story of Nicolae Ceausescu - the Romanian Dictator and visit all places related to this story. Valentin is a very talented and knowledgeable guide, he always tries to explain and present from the eyes of a local. I am sure that the tour becomes more insightful this way. Thank you for your feedback on him! I am very sorry that you couldn't visit the Palace of Parliament from inside. Because this building is used by the parliament, sometimes, they have some meetings or events, and many times they don't announce in advance, maybe they don't know well in advance either. I hope you learn many interesting facts about Bucharest and the communist period by taking our tour. It was a pleasure to serve you and we hope to see you again sometimes. With gratitude and best regards, Roxana Adam

Took this tour on my first full day in Bucharest and it was a nice way of being exposed to the major events that happened in Romania before and after Communism while either driving around town or walking.
The tour includes a visit to the Palace of the Parliament but because Romania is heading the Council of the European Union, visits are quite limited so Valentin took us for a stroll around the Village Museum instead.
We also went to the Spring Mansion of the former Communist dictator Nicolae Ceaucescu.

Valentin was great as he talked, almost non-stop :), about the history of Romania. He is very well informed and gave us very interesting information.

Our guide Stephanie Picked us up at our hotel at appointed time. The traffic was awesome but she gave us the history of each street we took while concentrating on cars flitting in and out of lanes. She stopped in various locations and walked us through Revolution Square and to see a beautiful church Biserica Kretzulescu ,and statue of Carlos 1, Then we saw Parliament Building . Would have given the tour excellent but it was closed and we were unable to visit. This is no fault of Stephanie. The best part of tour was visit to the house of Nicolae Ceausceu. Very enjoyable tour at reasonable price.
