Wonderful trip
Oct 2019
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to Peles, Bran Castle and Brasov. It was very relaxed and informative. Our every need and comfort was taken into account by our wonderful guide, Nikolas, who had to suffer through our 90's playlist and terrible singing. He also took some lovely photos for us and brought us for a lovely lunch in Bran. Peles castle is beautiful and very authentic with all of the original furniture and Bran castle is very dramatic but the scenery through the Carpathian mountains with the blood-red autumn leaves took our breath away. This trip is well worth the price and we would highly recommend it. Many thanks to Nikolas who made our day, we liked him very much. Aisling and the girls.

Our guide Dan was in every way knowledgeable and engaged. He had a great humor and was very helpful, even with maters not including in the tour. He picked up us at out apartment and guided us trough the hole day. Peles Castle was amazing in every way. Dracula Castle was ok and Brasov city was very nice and we had time to enjoy ice cream.

Thanks Dan for a very nice day!

The conversation
Aug 2019
My wife I had a great time, we received a great welcome. We got bottled water, the car was clean, the ride was comfortable. Our Guide was energetic and fun.. He gave us our plan of the day and let us know about any detours or changes we might have. While we were given a great history on the castles's and the black church. we also covered world affairs, music, life and personal dreams. He catered to our needs and wants. The restaurant he suggested for authentic Romanian cuisine was on point.

Manuel was a really great guide,we enjoyed the tour as well as his company. We are looking forward to the next one..

Thanks Manuel

A great day with new memories
The booking was done through trip advisor, which we followed up with an email to check on the pick up time.

Manuel arrived a little early, just as we were going to the lobby to wait for him.

He was very obliging, making sure that we were happy and how we like to sightsee. He also went out of his way a number of times by picking and dropping us off rather than having to walk from the parking area.

Not only that, he also checked the volume of traffic, choosing routes that meant we were not going at a crawl where possible. As it was, the day took 12 hours. He made sure we got to see everything that was included in the description of the tour, (ie we did not miss out due to traffic or our slowness) and gave good explanations.

We all enjoyed a pleasant late lunch in Brasov.

Thank you Manuel for the interesting conversations and all the effort you went to.

We loved our day trip with Robert! Not only was he professional and courteous, he was also very informative. We had never been to Romania before so we were quite glad to have his recommendations and expertise in helping to create a memorable trip. The day was full of interesting historical and background stories that made the time on the road much more bearable.

Crazy drive through the mountains
Jun 2019 • Couples
We drove several hours to spend 35 minutes in Peles Castle which was not enough time to see it all, then we were rushed through the town. We spent less than an hour at Dracula's castle, then given 15 minutes to buy a snack finish it while walking to the van. They did not want us to eat in the van. It was 2:00 in the afternoon and we wanted to sit enjoy a meal and the surroundings. Our family were the only ones on this trip, so we asked to not go to Brasnov, that was not possible. We then were rushed to Brasov to walk around in the rain. This is the second time we have booked through trip advisor, both times we felt rushed. Will not book an excursion again with three stops.

Good day, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your tour with Rolandia! We are sorry for this inconvenience and we apologize for this situation. Because it is a high season and everything is very busy, the tour guide tried to use every minute available to show you the attractions that were included in the itinerary. We have discussed with him afterward and this situation will never happen again. We hope this will not give you an overall bad impression of our country and you will return one day! Warmest regards, Ioana

Beautiful scenery, wonderful castles & towns and a fantastic tour guide
Apr 2019 • Couples
We were getting a little nervous about our booking as our tour guide arrived to collect us from our hotel on the outskirts of Bucharest a little late, but more than made up for this initial hiccup by (a) calling us to apologise and (b) being so personable and engaging from the moment she arrived and gave us a warm and apologetic welcome.

Our tour guide, Claudia, spoke to us so articulately, providing fact after fact about Romania, its history (from the time of Vlad the Impaler, through the Ceausescu years and developments over the past 30 years since the 1989 collapse of communism), and added that personal touch by bringing it alive with her own and her family’s personal experiences over the years. By the time we arrives at Peles Castle (approx 2.5 hours drive from Bucharest), Claudia had provided us with so much information about the country; she was amazing.

Peles castle was stunning. From the snow capped Carpathian mountains that surrounded Sinaia to the beautiful gardens, the amazing architecture both inside and outside the castle and the glorious weather all combined to give the wow factor. The history of the castle (and stories about Queens Elisabeth and Marie and Kings Carol and Ferdinand) was encapsulating too as were the reasons why the Ceausescu‘s didn’t ransack the castle, not to mention the paintings and armor, etc inside.

After a coffee and a cake, we continued on to Bran Castle, through the Carpathian mountains. Some stunning views and more stories and history lessons from Claudia. Bran was beautiful and the castle was lovely too. The courtyard is beautiful and the displays for tourists all very informative.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to Brasov in time to visit the inside of the Black Church. However, Claudia took us to the first Transylvania school and printing press as well as an on-foot tour of Brasov (which is a beautiful town and full of wonderful architecture), which is worth a visit in its own right.

In summary, a fantastic tour - well worth the money. 10/10 to our guide Claudia too.
