A great way to get to know Romania's wine regions.
This was an exceptionally good value tasting. Start with two whites, moving onto a Rose and finishing with the Reds and a local cheese platter. Unlike other tastings you get a generous pour, aka a full glass so make sure you have a bit of food in your stomach first. Our tasting went for 2.5 hrs because we are slow drinkers.

The wine was excellent (I'm from the Barossa) and but for one wine which wasn't my thing I could not fault the selections.

You can visit normally, no need to book a tasting as it is a regular wine bar located next door to some of Bucharest most historic monuments.

Only down side is water cost extra. I always feel water should be available for free at such experiences, but this is typical throughout Romania.

Wonderful wine tasting

We found ourselves on a wet day and decided to pop in and do the wine tasting, we didn't have a booking but we just asked and they very kindly accommodated us.
The staff were wonderful, very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot while we were there.
It's a lovely little place to sit and watch the world go by.
Friendly and helpful and reasonably priced, would recommend.

Excellent Romanian wine experience

Wonderful host . Excellent wines and a very welcoming cheese board. The wines were surprisingly good as our group knew very little about the wines from the area .Our host showed were the wines came from and a little of the history. A very nice enjoyable experience with friends.

Fantastic afternoon in lovely Romanian wine bar

Booked a surprise wine tasting afternoon direct with Abel's before flying to Bucharest. Paulo was very informative as to what we could expect and it was a first class experience. We received a warm welcome and spent 2 and half hours sampling a lovely selection of wines (2 x red, 2 x white, 1 x rose) which were accompanied by a delicious plate of cheese and meats. Water was also included.

Paulo was very knowledgeable and got to know our tastes throughout the session, we stayed on and enjoyed some further fine wines and also returned the following day.

A very good experience
An intriguing, funky, boutiquey little place. Very tasty wines. The mixed platter was definitely sufficient. The discussion about the wines was interesting but could perhaps have included more detail / been more extensive. A very good experience overall though. Would recommend.

Great Experience
A really nice way to spend a couple of hours. 5 generous portions of really nice wine and a good sized cheeseboard. Waiter knew his stuff and was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Excellent wine tasting experience and a great way to spend a couple of hours in Bucharest
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our introduction to Romanian wines at Abel’s. We were talked through a great selection of whites, reds and a rose with a delicious cheese board to accompany it. Our host was welcoming and highly knowledgeable- we definitely recommend for any wine lover visiting Bucharest!
